Star Wars Jedi: Survivor |OT| - Judge me by my file size, do you?

I'm enjoying the game, but kinda sick of the whole Empire/Rebellion timeline.

I'd love the same formula, but set in the Old Republic timeline. The Old Republic needs some more love.

This, and with maybe a custom character (established Name etc just, let me pick what I look like). Would love Jedi Survivor gameplay but with a female Jedi for example.

Mfs learned with Fallen Orders first Ogdoo, which you could sneak attack from high up.

Spawn of Ogdoo is pain. Any tips? I remember there was a counter move for when he did the tongue thing. What was it?
I ran into this boss super early on, and was getting practically one-shot. Ended up bashing my head against a wall for about an hour, but I managed to beat him on Jedi Master difficulty.

Basically, you jump over each of his unblockable attacks except for the lunge. Around a quarter health bar he'll start hopping around everywhere, kicking up dirt so you'll need to jump back and to the side to dodge that. He always attacks with a pair of bites and will sometimes follow up with an unblockable lunge around half health. At a quarter health he'll start attacking with four bites in quick succession.

I played pretty defensively and made liberal use of light-saber throws. The easiest thing to punish was his unblockable attack where he jumps forward to bull rush you - hop over him and start smacking him from above. The unblockable lunge was also punishable, but a lot more risky since it would usually come directly after parrying a couple normal attacks - dodge to the side and he'll leave an opening for about a second.

Yeah, he was a piece of shit to fight. There's a challenge later on where you fight two at the same time. They aren't nearly as aggressive as in this fight though.

Does anyone else have a harder time using the single saber stance? To me it looks the coolest but it seems to make fights are much easier when you have the whirly twirly spinneridoo moves that the other stances offer. Kinda reminds me of using Jin vs Eddy Gordo in tekken lol

ffs I've had him beat twice today and the game crashed both times, I'm gonna wait for the PS5 patch I think, so disheartening

Best tip I found was when you first get to his area in the fort, don't fall in.

Wow....so the PC patch yesterday supposedly improved their experience considerably. The PS5 patch has done nothing at all then? For fucks sake.....

Guess im waiting longer then to pick this up

Meh Kinda GIF by Cultura

I can’t tell if it’s really improved honestly. Dip to 11 fps just for opening galaxy map, huge slowdowns in some areas of Jehda..

It’s still a mess

Something is definitely going on with quality mode. Played through the introduction again PS5 quality mode. It seems less smudgy, fuzzy.
Yeah, but at 30fps that's like saying "the sandpaper I've been given to wank with is much finer grain than before!"

(seriously, this gen has spoiled me, 30 is just unacceptable, give me 40 in a 120Hz container at the very least)

Looks like same bad performance and HDR still broken lmao.
On PC before I had no issues at all at 2560x1440 on Epic. After the patch I'm able to use RTX now and get the same performance I had without it, if not better.

The issues connected to performance are really, really bizarre across all platforms. PC isn't too shocking because the amount of varying configurations. But just as a whole, it's still so odd.

lol I generally prefer 60fps but this game isn't that user input sensitive. Even on Jedi grand master difficulty the timing is very generous for perfect parries and dodges. 30fps feels better than the performance modes' unstable frame rate.

Darth maul style is good against groups but it kinda sucks for single enemies.

The attacks are too fancy spin shit and leave you full of openings against fast enemies.

The blaster one is pretty op with the bloodborne counter and i'm super curious to unlock the crylo ren stance.

It didn't improved much.

Higher average framerate but 4k native still looks kinda blurry and you still have all sort of stuttering.

The Cross guard stance feels kind of like a great sword, it's slow but drops enemies quickly.

I'm really liking the game so far, but I have to say (so far) I think I enjoyed Fallen Order a tiny bit more, but it's very close. Jedi Survivor does a lot of things better. But the biggest area I preferred Fallen Order is I liked the more smaller planets approach rather than the fewer massive planets approach. I'm still on Koboh and have been here forever and I'm like damn how many planets of this size are in the game and I googled and I saw there are really only 3 main planets in the game.

I think this style of game is better off with smaller and more planets. Koboh is just too big and it's annoying. I'm bored of this planet and want to move on and when I found out there is only one more big planet I was like damn that's disappointing. I liked exploring a bunch of different planets in Fallen Order, it was much less overwhelming and whenever I got tired of a planet, the game moved you on to the next one just in time. And it felt much better going back and collecting everything when the planets were smaller.

I know there's fast travel and stuff, but still. All other areas I think Jedi Survivor is better, but this is a big one.

Not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way.

Why does every
Ex-Jedi bleed their lightsaber red?
Isn’t this a Sith act? just because they stop being Jedi doesn’t mean they become Sith, so bleeding their lightsaber shouldn’t even be on their mind. Let alone the fact that most Jedi probably don't/didn’t even know about that procedure.

What’s the point of setting custom beacons on the holomap if they don’t show up in the game world when you close the map? Am I missing something? There’s not even a compass telling me where the custom beacon is placed.

Pretty sure I saw in the game options that you have to turn toggle this on.

So after the latest patch, on PS5 and performance mode, I don't think the performance has really improved. At all. It seriously tanks hard at times. But I have to admit, the pop-in is reduced.

...because now when opening doors at the bar in Koboh, it can take several seconds for those doors to open. With no visual cue to indicate anything is happening. Golf clap to Respawn, problem solved.

There is a indicator, its subtle but the lights above the door and there's a beep for when they're opening, I thought it was a bug the first time I couldn't reenter it

Played a couple of hours on the new patch and it seems more stable and more consistent in Performance mode now, a lot less screen tearing more importantly, not a single crash yet

The crashes where the biggest problem for me. Had to hard reboot my ps5 6 times within 2 days. Less screen tearing sound also good. Good thing is I’m on a business trip until Friday now. Let’s hope they keep patching it.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed after the patch on SX is the screen-tearing in performance mode is now almost non-existent but of course now it hitches more often 🙄

Quality mode seems exactly the same as it was before.

Just wait until you get to the next cutscene. Stutters and framerate drops all around. Which doesn't affect the gameplay, granted, but doesn't look nice either.

I'm playing on PC with ultra settings, and I think the game looks worse than Jedi Fallen Order, especially in bright, open areas. Am I alone?

It’s all over the place. Sometimes it’s legit top 5 best looking games and sometimes it looks straight out of PS3. Open areas especially look bad.

Koboh is all over the place. It's way too bright, and the textures looks awful. Even the in-game cutscenes doesn't look good.

I really don't like the fact that I have to play the story missions to gain abilities. I wanted to explore every planet, but constantly barred because I don't have some ability that is gained through watching a cutscene later on in the story.
