Street fighter 6 looks mid imo

Street Fighter x Tekken? Marvel VS series? Tag team SF6 would've been like those just with all SF characters. Not too original outside of window dressing.

I don't know why it needs new mechanics to be good per se; we're at a point where there's not much you can do to with the formula outside making the game fully 3D (as in, full three dimensional movement). I thought the game looked slow at first too, but the speed actually seems in line with SFV's and it doesn't have the built-in three frame buffer so it feels faster in part thanks to that.

Surprised you are complaining about the parry system when most players are actually complaining about Drive Impact being too easy to abuse, if anything. Plus if you hold down for parry you drain Drive gauge faster that way, so there's incentive to still do parries the normal way. Overall I think the character models look better than V's, V had some inconsistent character models with the DLC because of heavy outsourcing and VI's characters have more fine details than V's (although I think some of the skin textures could be toned down a tad).
Roster-wise I would have definitely liked Akuma to be in there and I hope some of the additions to V that turned out well (Kage, Laura, Menat etc.) come back to VI alongside more III characters (Dudley, Necro, Hugo, Yang....still holding out hope for Remy and Twelve. And Sean, I guess). But the base roster looks pretty good; I'm partial to Manon and JP as characters to main, tho will play some other characters too just maybe less so.



The RedFall thread is somewhere else. As you can see, this thread says Street Fighter 6, not RedFall.
It's original within the bounds of a street fighter game. No other mainline street fighter game that isn't a crossover has had tag team.

New mechanics are important to keep the series fresh. And there is plenty of new ground to be explored, other series are able to introduce new mechanics every game so SF should be able to as well.

The speed definitely doesn't not look as fast as V. There is a metric shit ton more screenpause on things like drive impact and drive reversal, fall/knockback floatiness, etc.

What's worse is the over and over demonstrations of information online passed around easily these days and it's STILL ignored one gets old and annoying. You're not even trying at that point. All opinions can be boiled down to "my feelings". Opinions are always subjective based on one's own feelings. Much of the fighting game community shits on Smash and MK despite both objectively eclipsing the rest of the genre in terms of sales and players. Are they also repeating bad opinions?

Game looks great to me, and fun to play, even in that shitty demo with only Luke and Ryu.

I would have been way less interested if the game was Tag. 1vs1 is definitely the way to go.

For one, the parry system being easily abusable. You would know this isn't even close to true if you paid a tiny bit to the information available. And that's just one example. These posts are laughably bad and no matter how much they're corrected on here, another thread comes. It's especially bad when it comes to the mechanics and what this game offers. I get things like you don't like the visuals and such.

To each their own, but the game is looking to be an improvement over V in plenty of ways. So, that's more than enough for me to look forward to it.

Street Fighter 6 has a more positive feeling among the FGC that reminds people of the Third Strike days.

A healthy community is all that I really care about.

Personally I don't care what the FGC thinks about a game and just play it depending on whether I find it enjoyable or not.

I want the deep fighting combat mechanics in an actual action adventure game. The melee combat systems of souls, dmc and gow are all reliant on weapon melee combat. I want to play melee game where i can do more than just punch and kick and these shooters and action games are just not doing it for me.

Mortal kombat has these great story modes with incredible setpieces and cutscenes. I want to actually play those cutscenes.
It wouldn't be a fighting game then, but sure I'd welcome this genre, God Hand, Death By Degrees and Urban Reign was a great games in that genre in PS2, i played the first two multiple times, and been asking Harada for Death By Degrees 2. Maybe they don't make them more often cause those didn't sell.

I've never played mortal Kombat Shaolin monks but i think it's also like that.

Edit: more recently there was Sifu and SOR4 (2d), I'm huge fan of latest, game is incredible.

I'm not crazy about what I'm seeing. On balance though, I get more out of moving on to the newest in a series rather than clinging to something I liked a little better. I'd sooner switch to a different current game if I disliked an entry that bad. When strive was in betas and hella people were complaining about stuff that was changed from xrd, I didn't worry about it because I was moving to the new game one way or another. Strive turned out to be goat of course, but if I had liked it a little less than xrd I wouldn't have gone back. Actually, I loved ram in xrd and I didn't like her much in strive. I've seen people stick with and old game because their character got changed or left out. So if I'm playing sf, it's going to be sf6.

The way such a large chunk of the smash community stays with melee is sick and therefore it is deviant. We do not want it.

SFV took a long time lol. I didn't start liking the game till season 3. It took a lot of adjustments. Vanilla SFV was pretty terrible game imo. The SF6 leads took the direct opposite approach when it comes to mechanics and therefore gameplay possibilities on day 1. A lot of the old heads are returning for this game and that's great to see tournament wise.

Isn't R.Mika basically like that? Same as Elena, which could be complained by snowflakes as a girl that basically wears nothing. Same with base Cammy, which btw is in the game as a skin.
If people getting offended in the game was enought for them to censor all this, then I think theres a possibility for them to change Cammy animation(change her to simply doing a hand animation without the butt stuff) or Chun-li thickness and bouncing mechanic.

I believe they said it was not in response to feedback. Rather, those changes were an internal decision that they grappled with as to how shameless they wanted to be. They didn't cave to outside pressure. They weren't sure just how provocative they wanted to be. Whether you take them at their word on that is up to you.

Parries are easily abused at low levels because they are universal in 6. You just mash the button. No read or execution beyond timing. Successful parries refresh meter. Missed parries only cost meter since you end up in a block. Parries are less of an issue at high level because execution is tighter and you're probably only going for perfect parries when appropriate (which have high risk).

The whole drive gauge thing feels awkward in general. I acclimated pretty quickly but I never really enjoyed it. Most people talking online are casuals that don't have a clue either way. Player counts show that the community sticking with a fighter represent a miniscule fraction of sales. Reaction within my local is mixed but people are going to play it anyways because of tournament support and player base.

Drive impact looks to add some spice.
I can see TONS of noobs spamming it.
Parry system is kinda meh and doubt many will use it.
Drive rush is my most concern, at high levels of play I guarantee you'll see it often.

People were actually happy with SFV during the beta, problem was the released game was nothing like the beta. SFV had very obvious and major flaws from the jump whereas I think SFVI's issues are gonna to take awhile to develop. This is also the early shill period so I wouldn't put too much stock in FGC opinions for a little bit.

I'm still not seeing the PS3 models even from your cherry picking screenshots, I think most you guys have poor ass memory what PS3 game used to looked liked.

I don't expect much to change considering the game comes out next month, but it's possible. People were invited to play (close to ) the final build of SF6 and it was still positive.

I remember when people were invited to play MK11 and their concerns carried over into the final build of the game.
 
- No new mechanics at all just a repackaging of tweaked versions of already existing mechanics into one meter.

- Due to the seperation of the super meter and EX moves, now there will be no commitment to using supers so people will just abuse the hell out of them and get free comebacks. Like what happened with Ultra Combos in SF4 or Fatal Blows in MK11.

- Game looks extremely slow with even more emphasis on slo-mo animation pauses compared to 5(which already looked pretty clunky compared to 4) at the expense of speed and fluidity. I mean just look at the animation for the focus attack equivalent, it's drowning in frames.

- New parrying system looks too easily abusable

- Character models look worse than V

- Meh tier starting roster. Emo Ken is cool though.

Agree...Characters models are too realistic and has too much colors, looks like they are cosplaying themselves.
After the demo im not hyped at all. I will buy the game, but not day 1...

That's because they want to make their thing as popular as the other thing. So many elements of that demo just scream US marketing influence.

Yeah agree character models are ugly, Ryu and Chun are big downgrades but I do like the overall look of the game. Not interested in any of the new characters but the DLC character AKI looks pretty cool, hopefully she's not a puppet character though

Played the PS5 demo up to the second fight, then quit.
Ef this game.
Bad PS4 graphics and some anime ass cutscenes and dialog.
Did not care for anything else.

I’m not big on fighting games and usually just play them very casually, but yeah, this installment in particular looks very unappealing to me. Even the logo looks awful.

Hopefully it turns out good when it releases though.

I want fighting games to evolve just like the shooters and action adventure games did from their simple 2d beginnings. Fighting games are stuck in the past in comparison.

Action adventure and even hack and slash games don’t let us fight like Neo in the matrix. Tom cruise doesn’t just shoot guns in his movies. He punches, kicks, throws, pulls up insane moves we see in fighting games but not in any other game. I want that moveset in a story based campaign like mortal kombat. But i don’t want 1v1 basic fights splitting up fancy cutscenes. I want the whole game to play out like that. Have the actual character fights be boss fights.

It’s been 30 fucking years since sf2 came out. Let’s move on. These increments upgrades and revisions belong in the sports genre. I want these talented devs to take the fighting genre to the next level.

I'm in the camp of 1000+ hours on SFIV and maybe 20 in SFV. I just couldn't get into the weighted/heavy mechanics of V. Just didn't have the fluidity I've come to love. Based off of the vids it seems SFVI will unfortunately follow V's trend. This only we make me hold off.

I'd be fine with that as long as it's contained within it's own genre seperate from traditional fighters(like how platform fighters such as smash bros are).

Does not seem like my cup of tea but as long as it isn't meant to replace the traditional fighter genre, I am fine with it.

Tekken had a campaign like that back in the day. It’s not unheard of. Mortal kombat has been doing campaigns since 2011.

This is exactly the problem with gaming in general. We have stopped evolving genres. No one bothers to innovate within a genre or mix two. Everyone wants to play the same game over and over again.

Have fun. Just don’t complain when people get sick of the same formula. Ignore the thread instead of telling people what they should or should not play.

Same SFV just feels so clunky compared to IV and surprisingly enough VI somehow manages to surpass V in that regard.

There's plenty of variety within each fighting game. Different mechanics, different characters, different frame data, different combo routes, different hitboxes, different hurtboxes. You just want an entirely different genre.

You're describing an evolution of a beat-em-up. Completely different genre from fighting games.
