The IP isn't interesting, what's interesting is that it was developed by a Japanese studio. A sign of things to come?

Was it even a good game to begin with? Never played it
If you're going to make up a rumor, try something wild like Rare showing a new GaaS Grabbed by the Ghoulies with elements of asymmetric multiplayer, social deduction & prophunt.

This is the stupidest thing I've heard in awhile, but given some of Xbox's decisions lately I could see it.

I could've sworn in the past Phil has gone on record saying he was never a fan of Blinx, but sure, mine those IP. I'd actually be extremely interested to see what The Coalition does with this if true

EDIT: Ah I see, he's joking. I think people known as "leakers" need to be careful since it's hard to tell what's in jest over text sometimes, Jeff Grubb all over again.
Tbh I'd rather see Coalition make Blinx than a new GoW anyway

Obvious trolling. But if it's true... We have TWO cat games coming soon! Cat Quest and Blinx!

I enjoyed Blinx the time sweeper on the original Xbox. Would love to see a new one.

Nice edit.

I did too. But mostly because there wasn't much else to play if you wanted a platformer on Xbox at the time. Today it's pretty atrocious.

Why would The Coalition make this and not someone with platforming experience like Rare? And in the case of Rare, why not bring back Banjo who has far more brand recognition?

Xbox could use some platformer mascots though. Something to answer the likes of Ratchet & Clank, Astrobot and Mario.

Right? I've been saying this for what seems like twenty years. Blinx could be a perfect platformer mascot for the Xbox brand, had they simply allowed the original franchise to grow.

This joke broke when you realize the OP was suggesting that the Gears of War studio was going to make a new AAA entry in a Japanese Catanime platform series.

It would be like having Sucker punch make a new Katamari.

I understand that you feel disappointed with the Sony showcase and specifically the graphics of Spider-Man 2. It's natural to have high expectations for highly anticipated games, and when they don't meet those expectations, it can be disappointing.
It's important to remember that game development is a complex process, and various factors can influence the final outcome, including technical limitations, artistic choices, and development timelines. While ray tracing and global illumination have been used in some games on less powerful GPUs in the PC space, it doesn't necessarily mean that every game will utilize these technologies to the same extent or in the same way.
Each
game studio has its own priorities and focuses on different aspects of game development. While some studios may prioritize pushing the boundaries of graphics technology, others may prioritize gameplay mechanics, storytelling, or other elements that contribute to the overall experience.
It's understandable that you had certain expectations and it's disappointing when they aren't met. However, it's also worth considering that trailers and showcases may not always accurately represent the final product, and there may still be improvements and optimizations made before the game's release.
Ultimately, everyone's preferences and expectations can vary, and it's normal to feel disappointed when things don't meet your specific expectations. However, it's important to keep an open mind and remember that gaming is a diverse and evolving medium, and different games cater to different audiences with various artistic and technical approaches.
