Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
It took the Assassin's Creed open world formula, but set it in historical Japan. The game has huge amounts of atmosphere, complex characters, and a fun stance-based battle system that's more involved than what Assassin's Creed does. Fun upgrades, an equipment system that allows for good build variety, and excellent traversal. The side quests are actually interesting, and typically have good rewards - some side quests even build on others to make for like... side-story... arcs?Is the game actually good tho?
One part of the story in particular was a massive emotional gut punch for me, which is why I'm hesitant to replay this on PC. But the fact that it had such a lasting impact on me (I played it 4 years ago) should tell you that the story is actually pretty damn good.
It does have some bloat that's common in the genre, and can turn into a bit of a collectathon if you let it. Another negative is that by the end of the game, after having unlocked all the skills and equipment, there was no challenge. I could walk into a stronghold full of enemies and slaughter them all easily without any strategy whatsoever. But that's also pretty common in the genre and is probably akin to "over leveling" in JRPGs, since by that point I had done all the side quests and had the best equipment in the game.
Overall though, highly recommended. Doubly so if you're a fan of open world games like Assassin's Creed.
