Sea of Thieves is the Most Preordered game on Playstation

Because 90% of the people here bleed a certain color and wants the opposite color bleeders to die a horrible death

In reality casual gamers just want to play games and are obviously happy to try games like SoT which btw is a blast to play with friends

I probably don't even want to venture onto these forums for a while if PS games ever do start to trickle in the other direction

Well.....the "people" in the other thread saying the game would be a "disappointment" amounted to one guy. Probably why the post you responded to was deleted. I think 90% is giving too much attention to those who are particularly loud about the console war, honestly. The sane part of the forum is just drowned out at times.

I agree with you completely, however, that casual gamers don't really give a shit about any of this. Folks who enjoy fun coop games are naturally going to be interested in Sea of Thieves. The game has a 89% positive rating on Steam for a reason.

I mean within 24 hours maybe. It's a new game. Likely will be the case for Starfield and Stellar Blade as well.

More than Stellar Blade and Rise of Ronin?

As of right now, Sea of Thieves premium is third and standard is seventh on the PSN preorder list. Rise of Ronin is ninth. Stellar Blade is 13th.

Should be pointed out that both Stellar Blade and Rise of Ronin are getting physical releases as well. Not sure that is the case for sea of Thieves.

True. I just don’t think there’s a ton of interest in Stellar Blade and Ride of Ronin away from message boards. I think some here think they will sell huge. I think they will do maybe ok.

They've been up for pre-orders for much more time (ROTR in December and SB in February), not to mention that they're also available at retail.

No idea really. A lot will depend on reviews. Sea of Thieves will have a broader appeal in the west than those two games, imo.

I really wouldn't use this as a barometer considering both Suicide Squad and Skull & Bones both hit #1 in pre-orders at one time. You also have to factor in how long pre-orders have been available. Both Ronin and Stellar Blade have had their pre-orders up for months now while this just went live 5 days ago.

Nadella will love it.

Spencer and Bond not so much. Guess they wanted to be proved wrong - that the titles wouldn't sell.

Expect floodgates to open soon if this is just to test the water.

Yep! If this game shows up on any top 10 list the month it's released..................it's over.

Glad to see its being supported.

I've already played the shit out of it so I won't be buying just for the sake of it.

But more support means more games going 3rd party.

If this and helldivers2 end up being wake up calls for the industry to stop the consolidation and exclusivity then that would be cool

So this is how Xbox dies, with thunderous applause from the tiny click that is paid astroturf.

It's one of the most unique games in the last 10 years absolutely nothing like it on PS so it stands to reason it will do well. Also PS owners are getting a feature rich version straight away something Xbox owners never had at launch.

Perhaps, but PS gamers who buy SoT are also getting six years worth of content day one.

I was thinking about this yesterday: if it is better to get six years of content all at once or slice by slice like we xboxers did. It really depends on individual player’s commitment to this game but I think I would be absolutely overwhelmed if everything SoT offers would just be dropped into my lap. There is sooooo much stuff to do in it now.

With old games that have no player base? Pretty the devs don't even play this piece of shit. It'll be packed for a week then when players realize this game has 0 depth or anything interesting to do the players will drop like Starfield.

This game was fun for a week. Not even that.

Drop the act is what I mean. Your tag isn't for the lulz.

Nah. You thought I didn’t have a PS5 when you made that post.
Getting snippy because I said people won’t have issues playing a multiplayer game with other people…Is everything OK with you?

Except that’s not what happened on either Steam or Xbox 😀

I put those who constantly do console war on ignore. It’s such a calm board now. 🙃

On a serious note I wish there was a PC forum category. Lumping all PC talk into a buy a new PC thread and a couch gaming PC thread makes it difficult to have serious PC talks. I know I could try finding a PC focused board but I’ve been here for nearly 20 years so I’d rather see the rise of PC gaming here, and lots of people are going to move over to PC in coming years now that PC ports are a norm instead of an exception.

Yeah, same in the Netherlands.

Kinda surprised, I'll admit that.
But I doubt it'll sell amazingly well in the grand scheme of things.

Wouldn't be cheering just yet without actual numbers over a longer period of time.

Edit:

And I know you meant it like an "in yo face", but if Xbox games do become decently successful, it'll only speed up the process of Xbox going full 3rd party publishing.
Which in turn means a Hellblade 2 PS5 release will be inevitable, which would be the only Xbox game interesting enough for me to buy.

So not sure why you think you got me there?

I still don't get this. PS fans are getting extra games and MS is losing exclusives, why on earth would PS fans be salty?

I don't care either way as I already have SoT on XBox, but these salty comments make zero sense. (XBox fans being salty I could understand as they are losing exclusives and if this sells well then I can see many more on the way, some being day one)

So please, explain why PS fans are salty (apparently)

I mean, there can’t be that many folk who pre-order a digital game?
First you can download it 48 hours before, second you can access the game at 0:00, those 2 reasons is enough to people pre order games digitally.

It’s no.1 in UK pre-orders too. I wouldn’t get too excited though because I don’t think digital pre-order numbers hold much weight. I mean, there can’t be that many folk who pre-order a digital game?

You imagine most people wait until launch date to buy games digitally?
