The 3DS Lineup For 2012 is HUGE... Best Lineup for any system next year

great lineup. Hopefully we'll see a hardware revision sometime next year as well. I want to play those games but really don't care for the current hardware design.

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
you could have just put 20 pictures of just Animal Crossing and you'd be right

FUCKING LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING

For my gaming tastes the 2011 3DS lineup is far more exciting than the 2012 lineup. I hope the remaining first party games for next year hold some big surprises, because that 2012 lineup doesn't interest me all that much.

A redesign is pretty much expected sooner rather than latter after seeing the huge amount of colors and special editions that Nintendo is releasing in a short span of time.

That means absolutely nothing. PSP got a new color every other week in Japan at some point, didn't change the frequency of redesigns. Bundles are common for the holidays.

What signals a redesign next year is the Frankenstick.

Thats a great line-up but I wouldn't go that far. I personally wont bite until the 3ds revision(with the second analog nub/stick)

Damn it Nintendo! Hurry up and release the 3DS Lite. There's no way I'm going to purchase the current monstrosity of a handheld so I'm forced to use the frankenstick forever. That awesome black and gold Zelda 3DS should have been released with the revision. The design is so wasted on the current 3DS.

Fire Emblem 3DS might be a system seller for me. I was so turned off by the whole Mega Man Legends 3 debacle that I almost swore off 3DS altogether, but I can't deny FE. Throw in Mario Land 3DS, Paper Mario, Mario Tennis, and Bravely Default, and I might be able to rationalize the purchase just a bit more. Would really dig a Pokemon and/or Zelda announcement though...

You're in luck, they have already confirmed a new original Zelda is in works for the 3DS. They did hint it might be a lot like A Link to the Past.

Zelda's been answered but Pokemon is a mystery. There'll almost certainly be a new game announced in the Corocoro released in April, but whether or not it's for the 3DS is unknown. RSEmakes/Grey (which ever is not released next year) may come 2013, followed by new mainline games in 2014. That's based on Gen 3/4's schedules, anyway.

And from that list I'll be getting:

Luigi's Mansion 2
Animal Crossing
Kid Icarus
Resident Evil
Paper Mario
Mario Tennis
Braverly Default
Rayman Origins

Man, I love having a full time job again...

Fantastical

Death Prophet
And these aren't all the titles coming out in 2012. I expect there to be some big E3 announcements, probably for this year, although I expect at least one of those major games to be casual games.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always like Luigi's Mansion. I got the Gamecube almost 10 years ago to the day with Luigi's Mansion and a couple of other games, Waverace and Star Wars. I stayed up all night and beat Luigi's Mansion through the very first night I had it. It was a pretty short game, but pretty damn addicting and fun. In some ways I would put it ahead of other bigger, more name games as a purchase, just because with a shorter game if it has some sort of replay mechanism and motivation, I'm a lot more willing to play through it again.

I agree, Luigi's Mansion was a great game, and I hope the second one captures the same feelings.

Fire Emblem will come out here in 2013. I can feel it. If it isn't in some E3 sizzle real or something I'm going to be livid.

It will get it's own e3 trailer and everything and an amazon listing will be put up shortly afterwards (followed by pre-orders). months pass and the game comes out in japan.

years pass. you have grown old and your children's children are in college. you are on your deathbed. you just realize fire emblem never actually came out in america and you remember "monado" didn't either. then you die.

Man, MGS3 apathy is beginning to sink in for me. The HD Collection will be the last fill I need for awhile. That's gonna be a wait for a price drop.

Actually, I can't envision any of these outside of RE being day 1? Probably Paper Mario also actually...

what?

what about those of us that are actually waiting for a redesign? i have every intention of getting a 3ds, but i'm waiting until the next iteration.

You don't need to tell everyone in every 3DS thread like you people doing the 'waiting' so often do.

Seriously, if that's your only input to a 3DS software thread, do the rest of us a favour and stay out. It adds absolutely nothing.
