And since it's doing great, here's hoping for more game announcements in the upcoming weeks.
I somehow feel Nintendo's holding off to make new announcements until next E3.

YTD until November 3DS 2.46
Considering it crossed the 4 millions mark, it did 1.54 millions at least.
LTD until November WII: 37.75
So, at least 1.25 millions.
Hey, wait... they stealth-announced Mario Party 3DS there.
I'd guess that's referring to Mario Party 9. Otherwise, they've stealth-announced a new 3DS Pokemon, too.Hey, wait... they stealth-announced Mario Party 3DS there.
So basically, Wii continues it's trend of being down a lot YoY.
360 should pick up a million or something this month, and be ~5.7 behind in that case. Add Wii U and a inevitable $149 360 sometime in 012 and yeah, it's going to snowball. Sometime in 2013 360 should pass Wii in USA.
In the end is about personal expectations of some of the "fans" more than the game been a "semi-failure".The way I see it for SS:
- Fans like me and other gamers (those who (re)-buy a Wii for Zelda) just got it at launch => launch record sales. Remember too this "record" is just on the first 2 or 3 days of sales; If we try to compare to OoT between the first 4 weeks, no doubt SS can bag its record and go cry.
- The Wii in 2012 will not allow many legs to SS. All the newcomers will go for Mario Kart, people who buy a 99$ system for the family. The situation for SS is very different from the other previous Zeldas: The Wind Waker got legs but it was the Gamecube second year; Twilight Princess had a Wii version offering a bridge to piracy; Majora's Mask situation is more comparable. But there was maybe 3 or 4 less N64 systems in 2000 and the two games matchs their sales.
I like SS, I don't want to crush this news without any reason, but will all seriousness, I think it's a commercial semi-failure, to say the least.
But I will be the first to be happy if I am wrong and if SS get some serious legs this year!
Those Wii numbers for December don't look that great.
Strangely things look better for Wii in Europe this December.
It did, worldwide.I thought The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D also did 1 million.
I thought The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D also did 1 million.
What makes you say that? Any reports or numbers out?
Well, Just Dance 3 keeps topping the charts in the UK at least.
With a strong lineup of software on the horizon, including new installments in the Mario Party™, Pokémon™ and Kid Icarus™ franchises, as well as third-party games such as Resident Evil® Revelations from Capcom and METAL GEAR SOLID® 3D Snake Eater from Konami for Nintendo 3DS, that momentum should continue into the first quarter of 2012 and beyond.
Sealth announcement of Pokemon and Mario Party for 3DS? The paragraph specifically mentions the 3DS and not the Wii.
I know it definitely did it worldwide, but I thought it crossed the 1 million mark in the US too.
Guess not.
Pokémon doesn't have anything known on the horizon

Couple that with a massive first- and third party lineup in the first part of the year and the prospects for 2012 are extremely promising.
Did I miss something or are we in Japan or something
That's pretty amazing. MS is going to crush - kill - destroy next generation.
You could have said this the past two years. It always feels like Nintendo is holding off. Look at the last two years of the Wii lineup, end of DS lineup, and start of 3DS lineup.
Those are good numbers. Would be great if the 3DS can keep high sales up after the holidays like Wii and DS did.
I'm still shocked the Wii sells at the rate it does. Its been getting almost no support for a very long time now.

By the way, this means Mario Kart 7 sold more than one million copies in less than a month.
I dare say much more than just 1 million, more like 3 millions worldwide.
Maybe in the US, but not worldwide. 360 has to sell another 35 million worldwide to catch up to the Wii, assuming nobody ever buys another Wii. I don't think that's going to happen. Hell, they're going to end this generation in 3rd place behind the PS3.
Do you guys honestly think Monster Hunter 3G will come to NA?
