I hope this finds an audience on the 360. My gut reaction is that people will be expecting something like Skyrim and hate it.

just so everyone knows, in case it hasn't been said already, CD Projekt said they'll be adding whatever the end up adding to the 360 version to the PC version in a patch.

How so? Is it possible to make a JRPG in Mexico? I guess I never thought of it as anything more than where it was made.

Well, speaking geographically, East and West traditionally refers to Europe and Asia, in which case Poland would be part of the West. The other thing is that WRPG is synonymous with CRPG, which is a much more loaded term, and doesn't imply a particular place of origin.

We don't know for sure, but probably. CD Projekt has said in the past, when discussing the Xbox 360 build, that the PC would receive free incremental updates leading up to the 360 release that would total the entire package of that version. They haven't commented on the situation since the last major update.

Their history though implies that they will update PC users with free content. They've done it so far for The Witcher 2, and The Witcher vanilla was updated to the Extended Edition for free, despite the Extended Edition also being sold on shelves.

thanks.

4-hours of new content? pure awesomeness. Especially since I haven't gotten around to giving it a second playthrough yet.:D

I'm excited for this! Didn't get to try the titles (Witcher or the sequel) because I don't have a PC, but everything I've seen looks utterly amazing.

fucking nice. Played Witcher 2 till half or something because it started getting buggy and moved out of the house with the nice PC, but I really loved everything about it. Except the buggy part.

Hope it will sell around 30/40 euro's though!

Here's to hoping it will!

Fingers crossed!

Really hyped for this, haven't played any of the series but the Giantbomb and Neogaf crowd have given me the idea that this is the perfect balance of open world and structured story that I'm looking for and that it also has an kickass combat engine.

Witcher 2 is definitely one of the most gorgeous games I have ever played but I just couldn't get anywhere near finishing it because the plot required a lot of previous knowledge of the first game to be remotely interesting, and the combat got really really stale.

Game Informer has been convering this one pretty well. It's their first preview this month, and 2 months ago, they had another preview for it. It's definitely enticed me. I will be getting this.

It's a completely different game from Skyrim. However the greatest things in Witcher 2 is the things that Skyrim completely lacked, a good story, a good combat system and player choice (not just skilltrees but actual world choices). Skyrim is a lot bigger game though and there's not much exploration in Witcher.

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
I am waiting for this content to release before I go with my playthrough of the PC version. I will double dip and get a 360 version though. I went digital with this game on PC and I want a box and and a map and all those physical items.

I would say the whole layout of the Witcher is relatively unique from anything else on consoles right now. I can't really bring to mind any games with a similar combat / exploring system.

It will really really help your enjoyment of the game if you do a good job reading up on the story of the Witcher 1 since 2 takes place immediately after the events in that game. I made the mistake of not doing that and was completely lost through the whole story of the more subtle themes that were going on and as such lost a lot of the great parts of the story people all talk about.

Agreed. You can play Witcher 2 without knowing the story of the first but a lot of the great parts of the game is the continuation of Geralt as a character and his journey and that will probably be completely lost without Witcher 1.

The only thing I find jarring about the series is if you take into account the novels, which are often regarded not as source material but exist in the same canon as the games, the way Geralt plays in combat between the two games is the big oddity. You'd figure with amnesia he'd play straightforward in battle as in and later do combat styles as seen in the first game after that, but it's reversed. He goes from having different combat styles to being straightforward. :p

Nice. If it were almost any other studio, I'd be concerned about that new content not showing up on PC, but I trust CDPR not to screw us over. Don't let us down, guys. ;)

Anyways, all you Xbros better buy this game, if not I'll bite your fuckin' balls.

CPD is a pretty incredible group of developers. People really need to pay attention to this Xbox port. Port isn't even the right word. They're dedicating themselves to making it look and play the best it can, and throwing a metric shit ton of new content in, so it doesn't feel like a super late PC port but a whole new package.

It's a PC-to-console release done right and they should be rewarded for it.

It's depressing to know that companies with 10x more money and lots more people still make shitty ports of their games too when guys like this do great things and care.

So why should I buy TW2 when I already have Skyrim?
Because your choices in the world actually matter in TW2.
