They usually don't use Destination Playstation to announce new games (although it has happened), but the back half of 2012 for the PS3 is completely empty at the moment. So I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some announcements.

Do you think they would admit to it being GoW4 even if it was? Why go through the trouble of filming someone working on a "cut" area of a game already released?

I think they just wouldn't reply if it actually was GOW4. The purpose of the video was to show off the studios, and what the winner of that contest can expect. I think a better question is why film GOW4 in that video and reveal it so easily?

It probably was an edited area from GoWIII. They cut a lot from that game. It reminded me of Poseidon's lair where you mangle that maiden inside a waterwheel.

Killzone multiplayer (and Uncharted) screens were "leaked" like that if I am correct. I know for sure that Dual Shock 3 (not Sixaxis) was revealed that way, and so was PSMove.
I'd rather play LBP DDR.

Sure, but near the end of the video they blur a screen that pops ups for less than a second, but they missed a part that stays on screen for several seconds? I just don't see that happening.

Not sure but Killzone 3 reveal was leaked by USAToday. Dualshock 3 was either revealed in MGS4 or Warhawk behind the scene video (with controller blurred in some parts and then unblurred in other. It vibrated at one point and then was blurred when it did :lol).
It's a retailer meeting. Stuff happens.

They made all that stuff because the first GOW was meant to be a standalone title. They never planned for a sequel because they never planned for the game to become as big as it did. I still believe that Kratos' story is over as of GOWIII. They need to start with something new.

Well MGS is done, the last Splinter Cell was worse than the last season of 24, Tom Clancy is well Tom Clancy, SOCOM has seen better days, and last time I check the PS3 does not have a stand out "stealth" 3rd person shooter.

No, it should be 6, but lol obviously canon PSP games don't count because they're on PSP.
Well, isn't Uncharted PS3's big 3rd person shooter? If you had said "stealth", I'd fully agree.
This gen needs more stealth, and Sony happens to have a decent franchise to deliver it.
If SF4 is more stealth than boring generic action then I am definitely on board but Sony has the tendency to just do what is popular like with R, KZ and Socom which strayed far from the formula that made the original games in the series so great. I really hope they don't turn SF into a TPS COD.
Regarding GOW I like Jaffe's idea about a Zelda-esc game; open, multiple mythologies and more character to Kratos. Sounds EPIC! What I don't want is GOW turning too cinematic, Uncharted has that covered.

To me that game's not canon, as it wasn't meant to have a story mode.

Sure but this is SCE..if it's only about big fanbases then they will cut most of their IPs.
Quality wise however Logan's Shadow or Dark Mirror are the absolute best first party games Sony have made, they should let Bend try again at least for one more time on PS3. (but again SCEE and not Syphon Filter is the problem here with this rumor)

I've never played Syphon Filter. I do really enjoy stealth games, so I should give the PSP titles a shot.
As far as God of War IV, I would prefer if SSM made a new IP, but if they must make another God of War game, it should be a dramatic departure from the original trilogy (and I don't mean tacking on multiplayer/co-op and calling it a day).

They are not pure stealth but do it they are great (Logan's Shadow or Dark Mirror are both available on PS2-even better versions than the PSP- by the way)
I have a feeling that if we see another new Syphon Filter game, that it will just be a reboot in namesake, and simply be called "Syphon Filter," similar to how Sony handled the new Twisted Metal.

I'll pick them up this summer then (looks like they're really cheap on Amazon too). I'll be spending a couple weeks in Colorado with just my PSP and DS for gaming, so that should give me plenty of time to play them.
That would definitely be the best idea. If they make a new console SF game, then a complete reboot would be necessary for it to succeed, imo.
Syphon Filter? Huge fan of the series, I have them all on my bookshelf 6 feet away from me right at this moment. I loved the realism to the series. Head shots could take out most people, even bosses, in one hit. Hell, you take out the last boss of the first game with a single grenade. The game play doesn't even really need to be updated. It was pretty solid then, and almost identical to most series today.
It might be time to drop the name, though. People have mostly forgotten about the name, and the Syphon Filter virus hasn't had anything to do with the series in about 3 games. They should just call it something else, but use the setting and the characters to show some story progression.
That being said, i do agree with Hatmoza. This could be good, or turn out really bad like Omega Strain.
