These next few months are going to be good for me. I paid off Unit 13, Gravity Rush, and Ridge Racer. I have LBP for Vita pre-ordered on Amazon with release date delivery. This isn't even counting PSN stuff! ALL Vita, all the time. This will be a primarily Vita centered year for me outside of PC and Borderlands 2 on PS3.

Definitely getting Gravity Rush, Katamari (at some point), Super Star Dust, and Disgaea 3, on the fence with LBP, Unit 13, MLB The Show, and Resistance. Need to look into Silent Hill some more but I do enjoy the series as a whole, and Madden might be tempting depending on what the port looks like.

All these portable sports games with athlete career modes on a portable device? A dream come true for me. Fifa and The Show are amazing in how close they look to the console version, so if Madden looks like that I'm probably in as well.

Then there is Dragon's Crown, Final Fantasy X, MGS HD Collection, Zone of Enders HD Collection, the possible Killzone game, both the Oddworld HD games, Persona 4, Street Fighter x Tekken, and Ys IV... god damn it. That list probably is missing a ton since I'm relying on Wikipedia, but jebus I don't have time for all this.

don't need a vita even remotely, but god do I want one :(
Oh and another lesson learned from launch; never leave out gyro shooting. Its fantastic having a handheld with better shooter controls than a home console. It works so well on Vita with the huge screen, prefect viewing angles and the second stick to initially line up shots. with.

I'd like to see games experiment with using the back touch for aiming as well, there's potential there.

I was actually ready to pay for Dragons Crown at GS but it wasn't even in their system. Dumb. In actuality, I might actually want Warrior's Lair more than that but I don't know if it has online co op. It's already tempting with the whole cross platform thing but online would push me over the top. Although Dragons Crown looks gorgeous and would be killer on Vita.

Check out this site:

http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/downloads/any/

You can find most wallpapers I used in the first few pages (by using that link, it's already sorted by Most Downloaded).

Good luck!

I know the Vita will scale the images, but to have the least amount of compression/scalling issues, what would be the idea resolution to download the pictures? actually for anything picture related what would be the idea resolution to download photo's to apply as backgrounds?

And time is possible on the Vita buddy! You can take it anywhere. Think of all the valuable TT (toiler time) you can have with this! That's why I love handhelds so much. As a parent, they have come through big for me and Vita does even more than anything else. I can't be bothered to game on PC or console as much as I would like so a gaming system like Vita is perfect.

Agree with you choices Liquid with the exception of Ridge Racer. No real single player game and a asking price of $30.00 for 3 Tracks, 5 cars and free DLC of 3 more tracks and a few more cars/music is not worth $30.00 for a game that really has no single player campaign.

Don't expect the US release to not have better polish and a potentially feature complete set of features. The new patch today has already been confirmed (by Nofi) to make the game a solid 30fps. That's a start. I have faith in the delay for that reason alone but I'm sure things will be sorted by the June release.

Is it confirmed to be $30?
I bought RR for 9.99€ when I got a 10€ PSN discount voucher with shinobido 2.

I pre-ordered it today for 31.96 USD (includes tax). As I said, I am fully confident the issues will be sorted and we in the US will at least get the DLC pass or simply more content alongside a solid frame rate that was just patched in the last day or so.

June release? Gamestop has the game stated for 3/13/2012. It is already available in Europe, so other than a patch to improve FPS, I doubt that they are going to patch in a single player game...perhaps the free DLC will be on the cart/digital download, but seriously a racing game with 6 tracks and only a dozen cars is not a real racing game.

Do you really think that for NA they would add all the content that is needed to have a real single player game even though it came out in other parts of the world already?

RR was the first PSP game I Got when the PSP came out and it was the one game I was looking forward the most on the Vita, but the way they have handled what is currently available is dismal. $9.99 for what they currently have with the DLC might be worth it, but that is still a bit steep for a game with no real single player game.

If your Vita title isn't native resolution with 4xmsaa then is time to go back to the drawing board. Any graphics lead that puts crap like low quality SSAO full of flickering artefacts over the flawless image quality this system can produce is simply doing a bad job.

I'm playing and really enjoying Uncharted (especially the gyro aiming) but its completely ridiculous that the highest budget game on the system its also one of the ugliest.
Yes.
I've been saying that since before launch, it's nice to see someone finally agreeing. Whatever tradeoffs you are thinking of making, they are not worth it.

I'm not even sure why they're trying this half purchase/freemium model, its an abomination. Either give away a small number of features for free to bring people in and sell everything additionally or sell the entire damn thing and sell post launch DLC to support the game.

I finally got near to work. Not sure why, but it'll only find my location when updating from the LiveArea screen, never from in app.

You should really post this in the Wallpaper thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=462902

I love them because you only need to save 2 icons in each page.

But you should make different game cathegories. Instead of simply "games", sooner or later you'll need to make "PSN games" (for only DD games, like SuperStardust), "Full games" (for all the games that you get in digital) and "Retail games" (for all the icons of the games that you have in physical, so you know that you have to switch the game card). A PSP games should be necessary, also.

My Hori screen protector and Vita travel case should be here tomorrow. Hope I get the protector on right. :p

I got the slightly bigger travel case too that fits the plug, looks nice.

There are things that are simply not possible. If Uncharted had to be native and 4xmsaa, in order to keep the same framerate you should lower the polygon count (that will affect also the animations) and the texture quality, and reduce the light effects and shadows. At the end, the game would be even uglier.

I'd love to have Virtual Tennis graphics-like with the amount of characters, light effects and complexity of scenario of Uncharted. But you can't have it all.

With the horsepower and the amount of memory in "this" handheld, why shouldnt we expect that kind of complexity? I mean, it has more memory that any home console due to the extra video ram...so with it having to render in a lower resolution than home consoles, no reason why it should not be able to pull off some amazing things.

I personally think that NONE of the launch games really tell the tale of what this system is fully capable off. I mean, even on home consoles like the 360, 6 years in it's lifespan and we are seeing things that we did not think we would. No reason that the Vita cant deliver the same.

Is this a glitch or have notifications always appeared on the lock screen?

It fades out when I peel the corner, just as the clock does.

Gyro aiming only works so well because you get a perfect image from damn near 180 degrees.

Something I've noticed with the Vita's viewing angles is a constant shift in color. When I'm gyro-aiming in Uncharted I can see the screen turn a slight shade of green. I don't know if this is a Vita/OLED thing or if it's my Hori screen protector acting up. I don't remember my Zune HD's screen shifting colors.

I've seen "You have friend requests" on the lock screen several times, so yeah notifications on it is normal.

Of course, games will be better over time. Better devkits, devs more used to the platform, etc. But right now, with the tools and experience of the current devs, I don't think that it should be possible to have a 4xmsaa and native for Uncharted, unless you sacrifice other things that are even more important.

In Uncharted, they even deactivated online during ingame to get sure that the OS don't got too much memory. Yes, games will be better over time, you only need to see the launch games of PSP with the latest ones, but we're talking about what the devs are able to fulfill now.

Re-uploaded these to easily grab from Vita web browser, quoting for space.

I dont understand...

It took PS3 and 360 5-6 years to get the BEST out of it graphically, why do you expect the BEST visually from the Vita on day 1 from launch titles no less? They did the best with what they had and it looks DAMN great.

What is the memory required for Gravity Daze?

Importing it later this week. It'd be nice to know if I need to get another memory card.

So what's the final word on the Platinum for Lumines?
James Mielke has said multiple times that there is a platinum, but haven't seen any reports of people getting it yet.

Why would it be a glitch?

I thought it was odd because I've gotten hundreds of notifications but have never seen one on the lockscreen.

I bought Katamari and its awesome, but one thing I didn´t like is that some songs are dlc and you have to pay for them :/

IIRC everything should be unlockable just by playing the game, but you can make real purchases to speed the process up/directly unlock songs. The only problem I have is that I want those sweet tracks but don't want to use real money and don't know how to get high ratings for more candy, etc.

For first games, there's a lot I would recommend. Probably the best way to go I would say is Hot Shots Golf, while snagging Super Stardust Delta off PSN for 10 bucks.

But my first games were Wipeout 2048, Hot Shots, and Stardust Delta. And they're all awesome in their own way.

But I could have also gone with Lumines.

Or I could have gone with Uncharted.

Any way you go, there aren't a lot of bad games with this launch. Surprisingly.

One question for those with the HORI screen protector? Does the screen become "smoother" after a while? I'm saying this because swiping is a little bit harder than when it was without the protector. I have protectors on other systems like my iTouch, and those don't feel "sticky" at all.

This is exactly why I went naked. Plus, the Vita screen seems ultra sensitive too. I plan to get the Hori shell and call it a day.
