Yeah. For me at least, I'd still play the game if I was handed it for free. I'm not opposed to the game, I'm just not very interested in giving my money to someone who I don't particularly respect.
Maybe when it goes on sale at Christmas in whichever year it finally comes out.

As frustrating as Capcom has been for awhile they are still putting out some good stuff. Ace Attorney series, Ghost Trick, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Dead Rising series.
What a cruel and awkward thing to say in public. Even if you don't like something, there are better ways to offer your criticism than straight-up insults. Especially if your intention is to revitalize the old industry that inspired you to create your game. Unless, of course, if said party never listens to your complaints and keep fucking things up again and again.

There are disagreements on his views of Japanese games, yes, but that's not why most of the people in this thread are ripping him a new one. It's precisely because of the manner in which he delivered his opinion.
If he's managed to crush the spirit of the developer asking him the question (wasn't at all a stupid question, or one asked impolitely or anything like that, mind you), and caused said developer to exit the room, then I'm pretty sure he did something wrong.

What about all of the people who worked on the Ninja Gaiden games aside from Itagaki? In that case it is a little bit more than one other.
i can only apologize to them that my choice to not support their lead creative talent burdened them in any way, since it's a shame that they had to work under a man I have a personal objection to. I am currently making it up to them by being a big supporter of their newest projects, starting with Other M and NG3/DOA5 going forward.
I didn't suggest that it was impossible, but I meant that there are a lot of bad guys in the industry.
Also I like to not let such things defer me from playing good games. For example I hate Binding of Isaac's satirical premise on religion but I still think the game is fun (although I didn't know about the intro before buying it).
But to be honest I feel a bit guilty every time I play Zynga's Words With Friends, even though it's the free version they are still getting money out of the ads.

I'm not saying it's EASY to ignore a great game, but there's LOTS of great games made by less repugnant people. It's inevitable that I can't play EVERYTHING, but I'd feel hypocritical to think one thing and then have my actions betray that. As it is, that sometimes happens purely by accident (since you can't hear or see EVERYTHING that people do, some of it slips past me) and the only thing I can do is remember it for the future and ensure that I don't intentionally make such a mistake.
Trust me, I was in REAL trouble of not buying a Nintendo console next generation over Nintendo's handling of the Project Rainfall debacle. Thank goodness that resolved in a better way than I was envisioning.

I don't think it's gonna get panned critically, it looks like a decent platformer with a twist. The retro graphics will give it a big boost. This happened before.
Also, it's got the open-world angle, and as long as he's got the content to justify the label (which I'll just assume he does), and provided that content isn't horrible, it'll score in the 90s, to speak MetaCritically.

I don't like most japanese games with some exceptions but what you have written is an absolute garbage.
Also you are too slow to realize that nobody has problems with his opinion but everybody has problems with how he voiced it - to a japanese dev when he politely asked for an advice.

It may not appeal to a vast majority of Westerns, but that doesn't mean they suck. And I can think of quite a few Japanese games that were awesome this gen such as Trails in the Sky, Tales of Vesperia, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden 2, Devil May Cry 4 (yeah, a lot of gaf didn't like it but other than it was very well received), Demon's Souls, Dark Souls....
It's just that there are less coming in and the industry is dominated by Western games. Personally, I have a great deal of love for both.
Edit: I'm no weeaboo. I very much love my FPS and my "best sci-fi series ever made" Mass Effect games and bald space marines all while typing this using a mouse on a Record of Agarest mousepad.
