Dayum they upped the res finally , very nice.

Does it still not support flash? LOL

Aside from still no flash i like it , just wish it didnt look exactly the same as the others.

Regardless , at least the res is like doubled , shame theres still no MKV support but jailbreak + XBMC will fix that =P

Also, I'm expecting a price drop for iPads in NZ, due to current exchange. the iPad2 got a pretty large price drop ->28%

So, the camera on an iPhone 4S is actually better than the one on here? And the one on a 4 is about the same?
Same camera as the 4S, lower megapixel count.

The photos will be very good, but bring your own lighting (no flash).

Pretty interesting that it takes 66% higher battery capacity to maintain the same battery life as the iPad 2. I wonder how many people might have preferred to get iPad 2 resolution with 17 hours battery life instead.

iOS will never support Flash. Ever.

It doesn't matter, though. iOS has best-in-class HTML5 support (for now). Flash is a near-dead technology.

Cool. Come to think of it, I don't think I'll ever actually be taking photos with this monstrosity. Just working with them.

My 4's camera will do just fine, and I'll have that with me everywhere. Even if I had my iPad with me at all times, I couldn't imagine whipping that shit out to capture a kodak moment.

Also, yay, preordered! This'll be my first iPad, and it's the first time I've ordered anything from Apple like this, never mind on day one of preorders. Hype is fun!

P.S. I can't afford this at all and must now sell a bunch of shit to pay for this by the end of next month, lol.

As I was continuously failing at pre-ordering an iPad (2012), I convinced myself that I truly do not need a non WACOM tablet and will be waiting for Ivy Bridge Macs instead.

Damn you brain, you win this time.

So what's the official name for this? Just iPad? No iPad 3 or iPad HD?

Don't be too quick to knock it. I occasionally see tourists walking around with their iPad as their main camera.

It's kind of understandable, when you see it in action. Take a photo of a group, everyone gathers around to see how it turned out. Zoom in on a face to see if anyone was blinking.

No doubt an emerging use-case. I imagine a good messenger-style carrying case makes it about as bulky as a DSLR too. Perhaps even better because it's lighter.

Resolution and the rear camera are the only meaningful upgrades. The graphics boost is necessary just to handle the extra pixels at about the same performance.

I'm good with my iPad 2 and will wait for the iPad 4.

don't think the camera is even noteworthy to be honest, i've never used the camera on mine. Not even once to try it out I don't think. Not sure why it's needed. the front facing camera is nice for skype I guess.

If I purchase an NBA League pass on the iPad, will it also be usable with the AppleTV NBA app? Or will I have to AirPlay everything?

Had a lot of trouble getting through via the web for the Australian store. To any other Aussies I suggest just calling them and placing the order, it'll save you time.

This will be my first 'keeper' iPad. I bought the original iPad and gave it about a week before I got bored of not having much. With the new Photoshop Touch I'm curious how it'll assist my work.

Picked up a 32GB White 4G, Leather smart cover in Navy and a dock. Feels good!

Is it wrong to feel this hyped about this? lol

I've never had one before. Always used others' or tried them at the store and just drooled. It was the ultimate 'want'. And quite frankly, my iPhone and MBP have been seriously quality of life improvements for everything I want (and need) for my burgeoning career and my hobbies. They just work so well for my needs. Hoping an iPad will bring me as much joy and productivity.

So esssscited. Can't wait for next week.

Best colour.

Whoever decided the Resolutionary tag line has got to go. It's almost as bad as the masses calling the iPod touch an iTouch. Day 1 though.

iPad is growing in popularity as a video- and photo-taking device.

It's only a modest bump, anyway. It isn't noteworthy. This is the iPad HD — it's all about the new screen, and whether you want to upgrade depends solely upon how attractive this is for you.

RAM guys, RAM. What about the fucking RAM. Tell me, do we know anything?
Apple hasn't been forthcoming about it, so perhaps the system memory is stil 512MB. The video memory has gotten a huge boost, from what I can tell.

Any word on whether the new IPad employs the same laminated screen technique as found on the IPhone 4? Recall some saying priorctocthe event that the process was too expensive/time-consuming for a larger display.
