Kind of hard to come in to to read individuals being "scarred" of Vitas future, just play the games man, some good stuff out, be happy, enjoy gaming.

Well, those two make sense at least. Sorcery is their "big" move game, and 4AM is suitably weird and quirky enough to interest people. Maybe this game really was unsalvageable... but I'm reserving judgement until we hear more. For reference, Idol Minds is currently working on the Ratchet HD Collection for PS3, so... they appear to be on a different project now.

And Warriors Lair is a game on nearly every Vita owners radar.

I would await further confirmation before post a topic. It is too random and rather unprofessional way to reveal such info, so it would be best to wait for some more official info or at least a second source to corroborate the story.

Why would someone lie about a game being canned? especially if you were working on it. So both the ps3 and vita versions were cancelled? Any specific reason?

Oh can I complain about something? I love the system and all but is there REALLY no way to turn power save off???

I'm sitting here playing UMvC3 and in a lobby playing and watching matches. If I have my Vita sitting up after a few mins it goes into power save and I lose network connectivity because of that and get booted out of the lobby. How can they seriously not have an option to turn this shit off??

Even while charging? So many of these handheld annoyances could be remedied if the power saving features would have separate charging options. Some things like watching an FMV or waiting in an online lobby should be obvious instances where the power saving is ignored. I recall when I had it on the lowest setting the screen would often dim while watching opening FMV's to games, which is just dumb.

Yep, plugged in and all. I have it on the maximum which I think is 5 minutes? But sometimes there are 4-5 matches ahead of me and I just let it spectate while I browse the internet, then all of a sudden complete blackness, so I hit the power button to make it come back from sleep and I lose connectivity. Stupid as hell, especially for this game.

I'm even going to respond to the "already out" category - which has nothing to do at all with my concerns about the Vita's future.

There are four "sure things" in the entire future of the Vita. One of them is a remake. One of them isn't Japanese - which is where my concerns come from. One is already out, I just haven't bought it yet. It's also available on the 3DS.
And one you haven't mentioned - Ciel nosurge. No western release.
So there is ONE future Japanese game that I can say I am 100% on board with.

That is cause to be concerned for me.

The 3DS was in a similar situation. But they already had developers come out to say they were on board. And they had no competition when it was struggling. And even when there were no games for me there, I knew stuff was coming. I knew which developers had signed on. The Vita is in a worse position.

I doubt digital is making a huge difference in Japan. When Unit 13 is the best selling Vita game in Japan with 8k copies, I don't know how you can say there isn't something to be worried about.

I'm glad you can be optimistic and excited for the future of the device. But I can't. Japan tends to agree with me if you look at the Vita sales numbers.

I saw some people talking a lot about burn in on OLED screens one night and it scared the shit out of me for the Vita. They all said the same thing and pointed out that it is probably the reason that the max time you can set your Vita to is 5 minutes before it goes to standby

The other possibility is he got arsed for other reasons and is now spreading negative press.
