Kingdom Hearts 3D Import |OT| - JEFF BRIDGES APPROVED

Spoiled the events of the final world and the revelations it had against my better judgement.

I am so confused right now.

Yeah, requesting a link to this as well. Keep it to a PM I guess so people don't complain. :p

that's weird...doesn't make the ending very secret in that case
Well....
considering it hints at an HD KH3, they probably want everyone to know about it.

On any mode apparently.

Oh come on, seriously? I'm playing on Proud Mode and cursing all those cheap deaths for nothing?
Thought it will be like in all (?) the other KH games - clear on proud or 100% on other modes to get the hidden ending...

I'm fairly sure unlocking the secret ending works the same way it did in Birth by Sleep: Final Mix; The lower the difficulty, the harder it is to unlock the secret movie. So on Beginner, you'd probably have to 100% the entire game whereas all you would have to do on Proud Mode is beat the final boss.

I'll shoot you a PM.

More endgame spoiler related questions:

Yen Sid mentions that seven lights will fight the thirteen darknesses. Assuming the seven lights are good Keyblade wielders, who do we assume they are? Mickey, Lea, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Terra, Aqua, Ven, Roxas, and Xion are all theoretically options.

Terra and Xion I can't see happening, do to the nature of their existence at this point in the plot, and I can see Nomura combining Roxas and Ven into one character who has the shared memories of both. So I guess: Lea, Mickey, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Aqua, and Ven?

We shall see, I suppose. :\

From what I understand, the seven lights are in fact, Keyblade wielders. Mickey himself says that he, Sora and Riku make three, and that "the missing three" make 6, (I'm assuming he means the BBS trio there) and then says "That leaves..." but never says who it is.

only real possibilities there are Xion, Kairi, and Lea, I think.

So is this any good?
Thinking of making it my first KH game so very eager to hear how it turned out.....

If you play 1, 2 and BBS, you should be fine, for the most part.

Play Re:Chain of Memories if you'd like, but for Re:Coded and 358/2 Days, you're probably better off reading the Wiki summary or watching the cutscenes on Youtube.

It's going to be hilarious when KH3 finally comes out and everyone who was too stubborn to just suck it up and play BBS and KH3D is totally lost. No sympathy from me.

While I haven't played any KH game since KH2, I at least make the effort to keep up to date.

Yeah, probably.

And I kinda don't think Xion's gonna happen because she's still more like a part of Sora than her own person. I think Lea is the most likely; you'd end up that way with seven keyblade wielders and seven princesses of heart without the weird overlap that you'd have from Kairi. I suspect that Nomura likes symmetry.

The secret movie all but states that it's going to be
Kairi
and I'm fine with that. I mean she's already a
Keyblade wielder, she inherited the power from Aqua and used it in KH2
.

KH3 will probably open with
a tutorial segment where you play as Kairi learning the ropes
.

Oh shit, for a sec I thought I was in the Kid Icarus thread and was about to higlight spoilers!

Whoo, dodged a bullet there.

But don't we already know that
Lea is a Keyblade Wielder? So he's almost certainly one of them. I really doubt they can count Terra, considering he's a physical vessel of Xehanort's. Also, like was said, the Secret Ending pretty much confirms that Kairi will be wielding a Keyblade in KH3.

Hell, I've played every game so far and I'm still lost with KH3D.
(Mainly regarding the time travel shenanigans)
I can't imagine how bad it'll be for people who haven't kept up with the series since II.

I haven't kept up with anything sans II I'm afraid of 3 lol. Hopefully the release some type of HD collection to keep up.

Time travel
is such a hilarious addition to the KH universe because it's like the single possible hitherto-unused narrative device that could make the story even more convoluted than it already is.

I think Nomura is trying to make KH as batshit as possible on purpose.

The first real boss battle in the game totally through me for a loop. Huge battle area with tons of difference in terrain. I was completely lost as to how I was supposed to approach it. XD.
Come on, they just put a lot of stuff there - I still mainly spam X/A, sometimes link with my Spirits and this gets me through those fights on Proud. ;d

18 hours in, 2 worlds to go if there isn't something weird and long in the end.
Like the game so far, but the free flow actions kind of make the objects that could be used for platforming useless, since you can just dash in the wall, gain free flow magic speed and keep doing it until you're near the ceiling. I like the system, because platforming elements weren't always top notch in those games, but it feels kind of weird, like playing on cheats or something.
And I kind of don't like the forced Drop mechanic, where I have to decide if I have enough Drop gauge to engage in a long fight and not be kicked out of it.

Oh yeah, definitely. But the first time it was really off-putting. Not so much now though.

This. So. Fucking. Much. I've been kicked out of two boss fights, which sucked. During Riku's Tron Legacy boss fight, I just barely beat it with full Drop meter with about 10 seconds left. DX

One weird thing I noticed about bosses: I got stuck on one particular boss fight, so I took a break to do some level/ability grinding. I came back after about an hour or two, and the boss' health went from 3 bars to 4. Maybe there's some sort of boss health scaling mechanic?

Thanks. God shit has become even MORE confusing then before. I can't believe they added
time traveling
to the story

I can't say I'm surprised since
it was alluded to in Birth by Sleep's Unknown boss battle,
but it's still disappointing to see it used.

how does the battle feel?

Like BBS had great battle for portable device. Does 3D have similar/better level of battle system compared to bbs?

IMDB says he will.
IMDb also briefly said 50 Cent would voice Epona in Twilight Princess. I'd take it with a grain of salt until there's a separate source to confirm.

So those are considered the prerequisites? I'll be honest, I've only played the two numbered ones, and kinda skipped everything else (I did try Chain of Memories once, before playing the first game, and it just didn't click with me). I know Birth to Sleep is fairly important plotwise, but I have no idea what to make of the DS games.

I'd say it's similar in speed, if not faster. Also a lot more chaotic, since the screen is smaller and you have 3 party members - it quickly gets flashy and half of the time I don't even know what's happening. It's fun, though.

You know, for the longest time, I thought that KH's overall plot wasn't very complex or convoluted, and just thought that people who thought so didn't pay much attention during the games, but with the addition of
time travel
I've switched sides.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
TWENTY-related question...

Any hints towards a sequel to that anywhere? And is the plot of the original game factored into Neku's appearance here, or is it ambiguous like for the Final Fantasy characters?

I don't see why it is any different to the other bat shit crazy stuff that goes on like from KH2
Maybe Sora can travel back in time and not be a complete wuss when he finally finds Kairi and actually kisses her or something

Very much a 'just enjoy the ride' type of game for me. Sit back, kill some stuff, listen to simple and clean a few times and call it a day. Thinking about it isn't going to help.

One more thing I don't like - breeding and taking care of those damn spirits. It's the only way to get abilities, but the 3 minigames get old pretty quick, petting them isn't very interesting as well - especially those snake-like spirits which moonwalk out of the screen which takes ages.
This could've really been handled better, although I like the idea of linking during fights. With Sora, mostly, since you're invincible during that period. Riku-linking is kind of risky, because you start flying all over the screen and enemies get annoyingly strong in the later part of the game - when I get killed it's usually by some random projectile. Also, who gave half of the enemies combo-projectile attacks? You get hit and hit and hit and hit and lose half of your HP because of a "one" attack.

Yeah, but
time travel throws in the possibility of multiple continuities BS. When I saw the cutscene where young Xehanort was explaining to Riku that the thirteen Xehanorts were all Xehanorts in different forms and from different times, it marked the first time in the series that I was just like "Okay, what the shit?"

I can understand people saying it was par for the course, but it was my personal "this is dumb" moment.
