THE POWER OF BUTTERSCOTCH BOTTOMS
God...I can only imagine the sheer pandemonium that will be unleashed if the WiiU doesn't take off like a rocket.

smh.
Japan is so odd. Why do they only like handhelds?

gaf told me the 3ds was doomed around the time of the pricecut though
What's so funny, esp. the PSP? In Japan the PSP was selling extremely well, unlike the performance in the US and Europe. In Japan it was the best selling gaming console in 2010 and second best in 2008, 2009, 2011.
listen, i know the ps2 and psp still sell and i know japan was what kept the psp alive, but they're not what i'd call "alive" platforms. outselling the ps3 and psv is news, the other two? not so much for me.
But the PS2 is outselling the 360, very much an "alive" platform.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else so forgive me if it's been mentioned.

title is misleading. 65% of weekly sale, not 65% of market.
We're a third of the way through the year. 3DS has moved 1.25 million units, the market as a whole has moved 2.4 million units. So even if you extrapolate this out in the broader sense, 3DS is above 50%
PS2? So it's a sensational headline. Why not include PSX and Pocketstation while you're at it?
See, THAT is great news.
as i've said before, i wouldn't call the ps2 and the psp alive platforms, no matter where they are.
In Japan.
Wow, you're a Japanese publisher/developer, you sure must take notice of a chart like that.

Yeah that's why their desperate to break into the western markets. Nintendo doing great is not benefecial the most 3rd party companies, Nintendo does way too good of a job with Mario and friends. Latest casualty: Kingdom Hearts 3D.
In Japan.
3rd party developers did just fine on the DS. So I'm not sure what you're arguing.Yeah that's why their desperate to break into the western markets. Wii and Wii U is Doomed. 3DS eating away at the market and taking all of their sales.it's also outselling the wii. nintendo better take note of nintendo!
For a user-base that large, the sales of 3rd Party games aren't really selling like they should.
Good point.In Japan.

What happened with that?
not a good position for the 3ds. where does it go from there? the vita has a ton of room for growth, on the other hand, which is only a good thing.
Really? XD
Really? XD
mediocre sales.
I wasn't referring to "bombas", just Thought most titles would be selling more. There have been more 3rd party success stories than bombas on the 3DS.

We had this same bomba discussion with Inazuna Eleven. Low initial week with legs.I would love to sell 200,000 copies in one week, personally. Alot of games in NA don't sell that much in a month.
If you look closely, Vita sales has only been increasing in the last few weeks. Is just matter of time.not a good position for the 3ds. where does it go from there? the vita has a ton of room for growth, on the other hand, which is only a good thing.
