The industry is struggling isn't it?

Is it because of social media?
Free online games from Zynga?
99 cent games on iPad, iPhone, Android?
A new console generation is needed?
The games suck?
The economy sucks?

It's a combination of a lot of factors, but I think the number one reason is that the current console cycle has gone on for too long. Almost everyone who wants a 360/PS3/Wii already has one.

Funny seeing MLB2K12 bomb while being released on like 7 more platforms. Take Two should have never grabbed the MLB license with a clause allowing first party to make a competing product!
This is probably the last MLB 2Kn game you'll see. The contract is done and it is unlikely TTWO will sign up for another unless the contract is cheaper and easier to fulfill (does not require so many different SKUs). TTWO lost a lot of money making that game.

"All of the above" is a reasonable answer here.

And, yes, the industry is struggling. Without question.

Are you able to confirm whether the 42% figure given by MS is a unit share...

(I.e. is PS3 + Wii = 512K)

...or dollar share? In which case it tells us nothing concrete about the other two.

From the Playstation ecosystem to PS ecosystem? LOL Sony

MS continuing to just bring in cash money. No reason for them to drop 360 price anytime soon. They own the US market.

Also, love to see MLB 2K12 bombing- that game is horrific and thank goodness their license is gone. While I love NBA 2K12 (those legs!), the baseball series blows. Competition is good however so I hope they continue making baseball games.

To be fair, Sony's lack of saying anything useful doesn't mean Vita did shit. Sony never reveals...anything. Even when their systems do well.

So with Raccoon City selling shitloads of copies to the "hardcore" crowd despite holding a 53 metacritic rating, will publishers start to realize that reviews don't mean shit? Somehow I doubt it.

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
So Resident Evil: Revelaitons, the good one, sells poorly.

Then Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the shit one, sells great.

...

...

I fucking hate American gamer's aversion to handhelds. >_>;

It's unit share, dollar share will be over 50% since they said it's higher than Wii+PS3

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
The only way to correlate 3% Petrae's quote with the possible Vita's performance is that Vita did 1/3 of first month...but probably it's just a bad guess.

Nope. Just an (apparently awful) attempt at humor. I didn't think Sony would share data as I believe that sales were tepid at best. I arbitrarily picked 3% as a slim-to-none figure.

That was in the glory days. Ever since NPD stopped broadcasting the hardware sales they haven't said shit since (Pacther helped out at first until the heat got to him)

I cannot confirm this as I am no longer privy to monthly snapshot data. The analysis project I was working on folded. I'm now as in the dark as just about everyone.

Well, he just said he is not privy to data any more.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
I just want know if Vita is over/under 180k because anything above would be decent and show signs of life IMO.

Microsoft must be making a fuckload of on all these 360s being sold around the world given the prices globally.

Even down here the 4GB vanilla is at $240AU RRP.

Can only imagine the boost a price drop would give.

Any information on Vita's ecosystem and momentum would be appreciated.
