I thought the super bar decreases when hit with a super? Its the only way to hurt others in the game, sadly.
So how does the health system work in this game? How do you know when your character is close to death. I thought they had health bars, but it turns out those are meter bars instead.
Bastards!"Responding to fan request regarding more PS1-era characters:
You gotta believe!"

I think it looks pretty good.

Really? Not sure if I like that. With a Special
People complained about the introduction of a meter (used for far more than supers btw)? Examples? I could use a laugh.
also ssfiv balanced lol

guek hasn't played the game though. They're basing it off of playing Smash Bros... There's no way to know how competitive the game is, and the fact that he said oh oh "Game over man. No way this game will work on a competitive level." is very clearly jumping the gun.Are you kidding me? A guy comes in and gave the most constructive post about the game mechanics so far in the thread. Two others respond with some lame meme about the post being too long and now you defend them and then say that you can't discuss the game?

I said it before, but I'll buy this day 1 for Sora and someone from Final Fantasy other than Lightning.
Didn't the GT guys say his level 1 involved Murray doing a belly flop 5 feet in front of sly?
Did they?
Either way, his meter goes from 2 to 1.
Anyway, we really need to figure out a better acronym for this game than PSASBR. That shit's way too long for an acronym.
PSAS?
PSBR?
Also not sure what to call it when actually talking about it. Battle Royale is kinda generic, and the full title or even Playstation All-Stars is too long.
...Man, that really isn't a good name at all. It kinda makes me realize how great a name Smash Bros. is.
"Hey, wanna play Smash?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Brawl or Melee?"
Look at how concise that shit is.
I liked the suggestion of Playstation Crossover Chaos. Creative use of the Playstation symbols in the name would've made it less generic, and it could've been abbreviated PXC. Hell, even Title Fight would've been better.
Totally not judging because the world definitely needs more Smash Bros type games, but...
Has anyone asked the dev team straight up about Smash Bros?

No I literally just jumped back in here to make that post because I didn't want to read through a lot of stupid arguments.Did you not just see the video linked? It's also been asked already and answered on video. Of course this is inspired by that game.
sora would be awesome.

Between lazy Square - Enix, and greedy Disney, I'd say chances are if hell freezes over will we see Sora in this game.
I like how they don't straight-up say they were influenced by Smash Bros.
It's always something like:
"So this looks a lot like Smash Bros. I guess that was a big influence?"
"Yeah, we were definitely inspired by a lot of fighting games."
They're able to say yes without actually saying yes.
That PR training.
Thanks

And again, I'm not judging, I just think they need to talk about it and what differentiates their game from Smash and obviously they have so yay!
Stop being so damned sensitive.
Thread needs more salt.

I guess you took me the wrong way. You should consider not being too sensitive.
So is this game not online? He mentioned that it's local and has online "aspects". That always worries me...
Shit needs to be MP ready day one, I won't accept anything less and neither should the gaming community.

I'm glad to see that so many of you are still as excited as ever for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. From when I first revealed the game 6 months ago in October, it's definitely been talked about quite a bit and I think it's great that after all this time, the hype is just as intense.
Here's to E3 2012 where you're going to see a lot more. Trust me, including 3rd party characters!

I mean no one any disrespect but to claim that the game won't be played on a competitive level at this point, is the same as someone coming in an saying, this will be the greatest fighting game ever made. Nothing but hyperbole.
Fixed :lol.Reggie is totally gonna bash this game at Nintendo's E3 conference. I can picture him just putting the Smash Bros. logo on screen and saying something like "Now, the behavior of Superbot's employers may seem reasonable. It does to me. But no matter how you come to judge Superbot and Sony in ethical, moral, and inhuman terms, the fact of the matter is, when they developed Playstation All Stars because Superbot knew fighting games, they broke the law."
It's online. Dude in another interview mentioned online play, online tournaments, ability to have combinations of local players and online players, etc.

Sly Cooper fills that role perfectly. Instead of blocking when you hold L1 he turns invisible, allowing him to prowl the battlefield unnoticed. During another one of his moves he disguises himself as a barrel and moves around. While in this state, he is totally immune to projectiles, allowing him to close in on projectile spammers safely. Once he's a bit closer, he can use his teleport move to instantly appear behind them, where he has access to special backstab attacks that leech AP from his target.
