No, not really.
My ability to play multiplayer with the people I usually do is going to trump the rest of that.
Also I've gotten all of the achievements in every AC game so far and I have yet to see if the Wii U even has an achievement system.
I understand for the achievement system concern
Lots of gimmicks, none of which integral to the core game design, but instead secondary additions to accommodate the unique features of the Wii U. Cool and fun? Maybe, sure, but hardly a selling point for anybody who's already satisfied with the core experience on a separate platform.
Most people will feel this way and Nintendo is in for a rude awakening if they believe otherwise. Most people, myself included, will be looking for wholly unique experiences on the Wii U, versus ports with extra gimmicks.
The bird eye view won't be gimmicky, the rest could be considered as that yes, a matter of taste i guess, but you're right about the point that innovative gameplays allowed by the Wii U must be perceived (and therefore cleverly promoted/explained) as really original and fun additions to this core experience. Basically, a gamer comparing AC3 versions on Xbox360 and Wii U must say "hey, not only it's prettier, but all the wild hunting aspect of the title looks FAR more entertaining thanks to the Wii U specificities than on Xbox !".
I can't obviously talk for every third-parties, but from what i know of two of them, i was pleasantly surprised as said in thread 2, by their implication, their involvement, their initiative, to find & develop ambitious use of the asymmetrical setting of the system, rather than hastily put some lazy functions on the padlet, as i initially expected.
