Speaking of gray. Notice how the assets on the Nintendo E3 Website aside from the calendar links is completely gray? There was some blue last year. Like the Wii U logo... which is completely gray on the controller.

Could Nintendo have decided to go completely gray with Wii U?

I hope so. Looks better imo

I'm personally not even addressing him anymore. I stopped earlier this month, and won't address him until after E3 because I do agree it is a bit pointless. But if someone comes in and fails to live up to what he promised/teased, then he deserves criticism.

What I'm addressing currently is the constant defense force, which has become more annoying then the actual person they are defending. Why do you feel the need to address someone and complain about them COMPLAINING about someone's postings method? Don't you agree that by telling them they are annoying and to ignore said poster that is annoying you, you are being hypocritical becuase you are addressing a person to tell them they are annoying?

No, because it never end justs as you don't talking about it even though you have said you are done with it before.

You guys LIKE this or you wouldn't go on and on.

This would give an awkward name a more mature feel in my opinion. I'm okay with this.

Wii was completely grey, too. Wouldn't this cause misunderstandings?

Do you think it's still coming to 3DS? I cannot find any mention of it on TT Fusion employee CVs. They all seem busy with the Wii U version.
Good question!

Next question?

I have no idea. I believe I've seen a mention a few months ago, but I don't really remember. And I wouldn't be surprised either way.

What is the rumor about memory? 1.5GB in total with 512MB devoted to the OS?

Well, bgassassin did say that, based on his consultation with IM (and Iherre, I believe), 2GBs was a safe bet. I'm still not clear on weather ~0.5GBs is what we can expect the OS to take up, though. You'll have to ask IM and Iherre about that one. :p

It's just months of teasing and hinting and bullshit, and for what? "Ooh, dev kits have colors! Just wait for new thread once member status :p" You drag it out like this, when there's nothing else to talk about, you build it up to the point where it's gonna deliver on the quite frankly silly amount of hype. Just post your little tidbits of info or just be quiet.

This. See John Harker's drive by bomb when he simply said: 'the thumb sticks are now clickable.'

Bam. One sentence of pure, unfiltered awesome sauce that we now know revealed two huge details weeks in advance: that we had analog click obviously, and that the sliders were upgraded to actual sticks and all in one brief sentence. It's this type of valuable and exclusive information that makes my GAF membership all the more worthwhile.

Now last week IdeaMan gets scooped by the controller pic being leaked by the TT tester because he spent a long time teasing 'something updated about the controller' but waited too long. Oops.

Now after weeks of saying he was going to post a thread regarding some 'very disirable' piece of info as soon as he becomes a member he now says he's going to wait until thread six kicks off or later in the week?

And all the drama posts about 'Oh, I have fun posting this way, this is my style, everyone's attacking me.' And his defense that dropping info right away would water down the "quality" of his posts is rediculous. If he really has info and really is enthusiastic about posting, there's no reason he couldn't drop an info bomb and THEN have fun dissecting the info with us.

I know iherre confirmed him and he has released a few nice tid bits but at this point it's tiresome straining through all the static and no wonder people continue to question him.

I hope so. Who made that mockup with the all gray logo? It looked fantastic imo.

Doesn't all of the above make you just as bad as us "haters"?
I agree with you. It's become more of a joke than anything here.

That's true but that's repeating the same stupid positive or non-negative shit over and over again, I see that as different.

Dwelling on members every other post and drama is worse than passing the time and going through the motions.

I'd rather see Star Fox/Metroid fanfiction than have to hear about tantrums over members that people supposedly don't put any interest in in the first place.

I think the reason some people (including myself a while back) insist on bringing it up again, is because nothing has changed about a situation that undeniably strikes a bad chord with alot of people.

Edit:

it would go so well on black.

Oh. It's the "Display Remote Controller". A controller that's remote and has a display, basically. Nintendo doesn't really give their controllers snazzy names, just base descriptors.

Thanks for the info!

All this IdeaMan stuff is keeping me up. I wish he'd just post it soon. That carrot gif is perfect in this situation.

I understand the complaints regarding IdeaMan and his constant teasing. I don't understand the defence on it, though. However I don't care, we'll find out soon enough--from him, E3, or from the actual launch! It won't take that long to get there. :p

Then just forget about it and forget about IdeaMan.

He's not going to start crying and say "ok, guys, here it is: haptics and EAD Tokyo has an all new platforming franchise".

Even if he did release it in the way many think he should, they'd probably still make fun of and mock its content.

Now imagine what a new thead will get you. Seriusly, post it in here (Or the next thread). You´ll regret it to make a thread. 75% of NeoGAF HATES(!!!) Nintendo. Don´t male a thread without being able to source your info!

Seriously, got a feeling it's not gonna go well at all if a thread is made. It'll end up like it always does, people in one camp wanting Nintendos machine to have specs far away from the other boxes and the camp who fervently thinks that they'll be relatively close together. The content posted in the OP might be discussed at whole for about 3 pages or so before it hits the fan and the banhammers come down. Posting it in the speculation thread keeps that stuff down to a minimum here.

Anything Nintendo related posted for all gaming fans ends up a total shitfest.

So I agree.

Man, I'm going to miss these threads. So when Wii U actually comes out, are we going to play games together? We can all blue shell IdeaMan to our hearts' content!

I think Ideaman should just pm his stuff to selected people and those people should after act like "real leakerz", posting cryptic hints here and there. And laugh.

Blue Shell removed for Mario Kart 8 Wii U, replaced by IdeaMan Shell that takes out anyone that has tried to ram him off the track previously in the race.

Yep, somewhere around 1.5GB and 2GB :) Just wanted to ask to be sure, we will know the answer sooner or later.

IdeaMan Shell: Really huge Koopa Shell that only works two laps after you press the button, only mildly annoys your opponents.

That all depends if Wii U delivers in my book. The Wii (deadhorse) was a huge let down for me, so I'm skeptical. However, I'm skeptical about all consoles and handhelds these days.

E3 will decide my purchase, but if it's decent you can expect I'll be there.

First, even Ideaman would agree I have given him the benefit of the doubt since I posted I would as well as not joining in on any "hating" going on since. Second, this has nothing to do with Ideaman in the first place. Until a Mod comes in and says the criticism has grown out of control and should from now on be limited to PMs to only mods, everybody has every right to post their opinion on Ideaman in this thread. We don't need you to constantly tell us to basically shut up just because you don't like our opinion on the matter.

I hear on the grape vine the guy who leaked the picture is now fired and may well be taken to court. A good lesson in breaking NDA's, don't do it. It can cost you your job, money and ruins things for everyone else. I doubt he'll ever get to work in the industry again.

Remember, kids; Don't leak.

I know it's cliche but the Wii faltering late in its cycle and the 3DS launch mishap really are positves for the Wii U.

Just think if everything went smoothly with what I just mentioned.

Stagnation and complacency.

We'd probably get a fucking Waluigi centered game at launch and stupid hot air balloon simulation.

I demand a "I doubt IdeaMan Community Thread".

Then just forget about it and forget about IdeaMan.

You could use the same argument for trolling or any other bullshit that is annoying on a message board. I do understand your point and all that, but some parts of Ideamans recent behaviour (especially after the whole controller pic debacle) , at least in my world, warrents a warning from the mods.

lol

I remember EatChildren saying that if you people didn't shut the fuck up about Ideaman, he'd nuke the thread (or something to that effect). It hasn't reached the tipping point yet, but, hey, feel free to push your luck.

A few things I've been thinking about in regards to what will ship with the console:

1) It pretty much has to come with a Sensor Bar. There's no way they would make that a separate purchase, it would be confusing for a lot of people.

2) With a Sensor Bar in the box, it should also have something that can use that Sensor Bar.

3) Looking at the patents so far, the only things that use the Sensor Bar are the Wiimote and one of the two versions of the Zapper. The DRC uses its magnetometer instead of an IR camera to keep its bearings (again, according to the patents so far).

4) Based on all of that, I think the box will have either a Wiimote, that IR-based Zapper, or both included.

Off-Topic: Can we chill on all the IdeaMan complaining/defending for a bit so we don't end up closing this thread out before GamePlayWhore gets the new one ready?

You know what I just thought of?

You see how when you hover your cursor over the top-left corner of Nintendo's E3 site, a little "text bubble" appears with some information? Perhaps this may be what the WiiU's OS consists of, as well as the design on the top-right corner. Nothing significant, but it's something, nonetheless.

Imagine--When you get a notification of some sort, a little text bubble appears on the top-left corner of the main screen (or on the controller screen) with information.

Also, the fact that the same theme is being used over and over (in terms of color) may suggest that the WiiU's OS may be focused on these colors (grey, white, and blue).

75% dont hate Nintendo, in fact, Nintendo likely has the largest fan base here. It's just that to super hard core nintendo fanboys, any criticism is seen as hate.

If Nintendo announced the use of friend codes on the WiiU and someone made a thread about it. To these guys 90% of the thread would be "Nintendo haters".

Last thing from me on it as you are doing it again:

We need a mod to tell us we are being bad in our repetition???

That sounds like a babysitter.

We should realize it ourselves.

But carry on all you want, some of us take things more in stride.

Please guys, can we get off the current subject before we not only lose this thread but potential to make any more if need be? There's a lot of good information coming from a few folks that is well contained in here. I wouldn't want to lose the well because the villagers can't decide who gets them water fastest/most ethically, ya know.
