The stand for the GamePad is revealed in the presentation. Here's a few closeup frames of the stand for the GamePad — it's located between his awesome flannel and his jeans.

Is that a built-in sensor bar I see on it as well?

"Non-Specific Action Figure" is pure genius. I hope Nintendo bundle one in with every Wii U to utilise the NFC out of the box.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

No, the sensor bar is on the controller.

I like the stand, you could set it up to play Wii games like that (on the TV, just use it as a sensor bar) and maybe also use the tablet's camera as a Kinect for Wii U games, maybe that's why that shitty Avengers game is Kinect & Wii U, no other versions.

I know there is a sensor bar on the controller, but think about when you play multiplayer. You aren't going to have to point your Wiimotes at the GamePad...
If they plan such games then there'd be no point in having a sensor bar on the tablet, a sensor bar on the stand would have been sufficient for both cases. You'd only need it on the controller for a very very specialised case like the golf demo thingie which I don't think they'd bother with if that was all there was to it. But who knows...

By the way, does the dude standing up and moving the Upad around when playing the zombie game imply motion aiming a la Wiimote is possible, or was he just supposed to be so into it? I'd love such a function even though a detached Wiimote & Nunchuck scheme would be far superior, but would it even be possible to be as good functionally without a sensor bar & camera style setup? At that point it'd have to rely purely on motion data, right? Do we have any specs about what's in the Upad to that end and if it'd be more accurate tracking than the Motion Plus which could easily replicate a Wii style, not Move style, pointer function?

I know they've shown demos/concepts with similar functions but holding the Upad vertically as another window to the game, but that's even more awkward (though at least it shows they do include all sorts of motion hardware), so I'm wondering if it's possible to use it while holding it horizontally like a normal controller, and more importantly, again, how accurate/Wiimote like it'd be.

It has all the motion stuff built in too. gyroscopes etc

It's nicely made and I want to believe, but:
- a Wii U remake would not display the message box on the main screen
- a trailer would show something else than only one of the first scenes of the game
- the last effect applied to the logo is a shamefull effect, probably a free template for adobe premiere
- and the Nintendo team would have captured better the MM pace instead of remaking the old OoT advertsiements with the badass sentences over flames

What happened to that supposed 3ds revision news?

Semi-confirmed by a respected GAF leaker. 4.3" inch TFT screen with 800 x 480 resolution, wider viewing angles, dual circle pads, and the entire thing is as big as a DSi XL or Vita.

So apparently everyone hated the Sony conference too. I wonder how this is going to go.

Sony and MS conferences were honestly fine (if you're not a Vita owner), the problem is there were no megatons.

I mean, all Nintendo has to show is a couple unannounced first party Wii U games and that'll generate far more excitement than MS or Sony's conferences. Not to even mention third party stuff or the 3DS revision.

Honestly it's Nintendo's E3 to lose.

The Nikkei rumour? Nintendo debunked it.

I didn't hate it-- it just didn't wow me. Last of Us sure looks awesome, though.

There are already haters for that game if you can believe. I wasn't even aware there was a mob of angry uncharted detractors. You learn new shit everyday.

But seriously. Nikkei never lies and nintendo has denied them before in order to try and keep the truth from getting out.

This was odd for me too. I know some people don't like Uncharted but this looked pretty cool.
Still read in reviews for Mario Kart people complaining about blue shells, something for everyone and something not for everyone I guess.

Uh, I'd hope it would do that. I'm obviously not saying it's real, it looks pre-rendered, but having you take your eyes away from cut scenes/gameplay just to read the subtitles? No. Maybe it works on DS/3DS but there the screens are close together and basically visible at the same time without changing your view angle, one isn't in your lap and the other across your seat...
