Wow, screens looked terribad, trailer looks absolutely awesome. Why the fuck wasn't this in the conference? Quite honestly it looks like Pikmin taken to the next level.

Because it was an exclusive for gametrailers.

They should have given GameTrailers the exclusive on SiNG or something.

This and Watch_Dogs are pretty much the most interesting games of the convention for me. They're pretty much the only interesting games period

Not a bad secondary title at launch. Although I suspect this game will be way overpriced (It looks like it should be at most a 40$ on disc game or a 20$ download) it will still be a good game. Platinum makes good shit, Nintendo rarely publishes something bad. Basically Nintendo is launching the Wii-U with Mario and Pikmin 3 as their heavy hitters and third parties will likely be given the rest of the launch window.

Not a terrible launch but I would like to have seen another game like whatever Retro is working on be on the post launch menu as to not only provide the system with a good launch but also help the system have a good title for post launch.

My attitude on the Wii-U is that I will likely wait for a price drop and at least 5 killer Nintendo games before I buy. Nintendo fooled me with the Wii they are going to have to earn my cash if they want me to buy the Wii-U.

If it launches this year at 300-350 I will likely wait till late 2013 or early to mid 2014 when the system might be around 250 with a pack in game. Also what the hell are the specs for this dam system? Is it a true upgrade from the PS3/360 or just a small increase in power? I still have no freaking clue. Because if its just a small increase over the 360/PS3 its likely going to further delay my purchasing of this system till its under 200.

That's not even remotely true. It may not be a great technical showpiece for a new console but it's leagues ahead of wii and technically better than most comparable games for PS3/360. The buildings in particular have really nice geometry, the effects are really nice and it has a shit load of stuff going on

Im not a developer. I don't care what it technically has.

If you had shown me this without telling you what platform it is on, i would of said it was a wii game.

It looks like a great game for Nintendo core, but for me, the only thing that interests me is that is kamiyas next project. Anyone else and I would of dismissed it outhand.

The variety I see in the trailer immediately impresses me: power-driven environmental traversal as a gameplay mechanic is sorely underused these days.

Just saw the Gamespot video, and this definitely seems to be in the tradition of great games that Nintendo for some reason leaves us to find out about in a post-conference press release. The visuals look pretty nice, with some nice lighting and IQ, and I'm definitely getting a Viewtiful Joe feel from watching the video, which is a very good thing.

This game has massive Smash Bros representation potential.... Holy shit... is that why Sakurai visited Platinum?!

I don't understand what you're trying to say. It's technically better than a Wii game but it looks like a Wii game? What does that even mean?

Finally got home and watched a walkthrough and I like what I see. Is this a launch game?
Don't count on it being there at launch. When asked if this was a launch title during the demonstration, their response was along the lines '...as soon as possible.' I'm guessing early 2013.

Something something Nintendo defence force. Whatever. I stand by what I have said. I never said it looked like a wii game. I just said it only looks slightly better. I am happily ignorant of Nintendo franchises because I haven't seen or played anything on their systems that has compelled me to purchase one. With the WiiU the trend continues, but at least im open to trying this game at some point because It is a platinum/kamiya title. If you dont like that that's really your problem. That is my opinion and Im standing by it.

it's not an opinion, it's an ignorant, factually incorrect statement.

im really not going to continue to argue with you. Whatever.

Just can't get over how amazingly foolish it was to brush this off onto gametrailers post conference.... really... who thought that was a good idea?

Oh my goodness, WOULD HAVE.

would + have = would've.

There is no "would of".

Technically you shouldn't even say would've, but if you must, it's WOULD HAVE.

Has anyone else speculated this could be a digital game? Because with those visuals and style I'm seriously thinking that may be the case.

... Though I wouldn't care too much if it were retail anyway, I've felt for quite awhile we need a wider variety of visual styles/detail accepted for the industry to not destroy itself.

Okay then. Moving on.

Is the Gamespot video new, or just the same announcement trailer?

Looks really interesting.
I got a bit of a Katamari vibe as well as the Pikmin comparisons.
I'm all for games that look like games so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
Looks very Nintendo and I'm happy with that.

Watched the gameplay vid. I think the graphics look great and the style is charming, reminds me of western toys/action figures. Gameplay mechanics look awesome.
I'm a bit surprised by the amount of negative comments. I guess it just doesn't look 'hardcore' enough.

If you drastically upped the polycount it'd probably leave a better impression even if the game otherwise looked the same. It really is on par with a lower budget PS2 or GC game.

What deference does it make? It's not a game that can easily be demonstrated and understood. It's appeal is somewhat niche and following Pikmin 3 it would have been even more confusing. Just look at how long this board crapped all over the game before people started understanding what they were looking at. Post conference was (arguably) the right choice for this game as it allowed for a more personalized first impression.

A lot of people, and it's as annoying every time

cartoony - should be downloadable
not a shooter - should be downloadable
not a completely scripted cinematic experience - should be downloadable

Okay the GT gameplay video was awesome :D

I'm such a sucker for zoomed out, isometric camera angles like the ones in Little King Story and Pikmin lol

Just came back from the show and this game is AMAZING. This and the games on Nintendoland (yes, you read right) really stood out for me as to how fun they are. P-100's games graphics have a certain "solid" quality to them thats hard to describe... its like you are playing with real life toys. What you don't see on gamepro's playthrough are the third person solo gameplay that occurs when you enter the buildings. Its just the viewtiful joe-looking hero with a behind the camera viewpoint solving the puzzle.

Needless to say, day 1. Kamiya, you viewtiful bastard.

This game is by far my favorite game on the show floor. During my booth tour I spent about 15-20min playing this and actually finished the demo, and I have to say that this is a MUST OWN title for the system. I truly hope it is a launch game, and not a launch "Window" game!!
