The data inside the SD will never be recovered, but I think you can send the console to Nintendo and make them transfer the things that are inside the console (the console code), where the mii and the friend code is stored.

Why the 3DS? Did you put some bacon over it?

That's so random, next time he will eat your furniture.

You should just wait for the XL 3DS, unless your dog really has a big mouth, if that's the case you should be worried.

Sorry for your loss.... I know the feeling.

Having two Labradors learned me to store everything on the top of the bookshelf, or even better in a closed drawer. One day they stormed my bedroom and ate about 50 CD's , two dozen of VHS tapes, a working game & watch I treasured, and destroyed some other stuff like manga and comics.

That was in the 90's when all of this stuff was really expensive to buy and import... Some of the CD's and tapes were lent to me by friends, and I had to re-buy them to give them back.

Does it still work/ switch on? If you can access the eshop then you can transfer your games to a new system. You've lost the saves on the SD card but I think you can still download your games.

This thread just made me reconsider my decision to buy a dog.

Did you back up anything on your PC. You could at least recover photos and stuff. Not sure about system or game data though.

My 3DS is protected from dogs by its circle pad pro and Kid Icarus stand. It is only vulnerable when I have to remove it from the CPP to use the IR port for Skylanders.

Train your dog or don't let your eletronics on places where your dog reach.
Get a new dog. I recomend a Golden Retriever, they're really nice and beautiful. :D

Hey OP, was your machine part of the ambassador program? Nintendo can't get you anything back to you except that. I lost my 3DS (or it was stolen, I don't know), and I picked up a used one for cheap. I called and talked to Nintendo, and since I still had the original box for my first 3DS, I was able to cut out the code and mail it to them as proof of ownership, and they enabled my new 3DS so that it could access the ambassador games for free... they didn't really mind that it was used.

The only good thing that came out of this was that I was able to get the Zelda edition 3DS for $115 from a pawn shop :p I didn't get the couple of eShop games I'd bought though -- they saw them on my account but assured me there was nothing they could do.

You might have to press them a bit to get this--I'm not sure. The person I was on the phone with said it was kind of a unique case (at least it was at that time), and they went and talked to people higher up who allowed for this to work out

Also: like others said, definitely take it to GS. They will take some fucked up shit. Take it into them when they are doing a nice big bonus on hardware trade ins... if you're willing to wait you could trade it in for XL

I remember when my dog chewed my original Game Boy. It still works after all these years:

But the Game Boy was built like a tank.

What happens with games that use my Mii for the save file? Like Mario Tennis or Kart. Nothing?

Don't worry, the save files on on the card, you didn't lose them.

The save files will still have that Mii face on them, but all the streetpass/spotpass data will be gone.

Is your dog okay? You might want to have him checked out.

Then send your 3DS to Nintendo for repairs. They could probably transfer your data to a new system.

He ate on it but does the 3DS not work at all? If it does you can still transfer your downloads to a new DS. I am not sure if a system transfer could transfer miis and streetpass hits. We had our dog eat on my sisters DS lite but thankfully it still works.

Quite a ridiculous thing to say to replace the dog for this. The problem is with us not the dogs. They don't understand how precious our electronics are and neither would a baby.

You were neglecting your dog and spending too much time on the 3ds. That's why your dog chewed through your 3ds. It wanted more love!!!

Joe, I'm a little unclear. Can it still be powered on? Even though the SD card is destroyed, if you do a system transfer, you should still be able to get all of your purchases again.
