What exactly does Square gain from putting Final Fantasy VII characters in this game? There is no new Final Fantasy VII title in development, and they are certainly aware of the demand for more. Putting Lightning in is an advertisement for the recently released XIII-2 and likely the forth coming XIII-3.

Has FFXIII-3 been confirmed?

FFX HD. Yuna, please. Nah, it will obviously be Lightning if anyone.

It's interesting to hear that you have people acting as leads behind characters in the game, sort of like how Disney would do the same for individual animated characters in their projects (Aladdin had his own animation director, Jasmine had her own, etc). I'm really loving how truthful Jak's translation looks so far- I can't wait to play him in October!

In regards to Sackboy, I think Drake, SackBoy and Cole are the biggest new characters from sony this generation. Little Big planet is an adored ip by almost everyone and I think he is guaranteed for this game

Well there are 2 good things about Lightning:

1.Excuse to use Blinded by light in one of the stages.
2.Her lvl 3 super would most likely be the badass Odin summon where she smashes the screen glass . They used it in Dissidia too.

They ran the IP into the ground a long time ago, as they seem to do with most of their IPs.

There was a reboot in development at Radical in 2010 that got canceled. Activision fired the team responsible before closing the studio entirely earlier this month. In 2010 there was also a new Crash Team Racing in development at High Impact Games, which also got canned. So as far as we know there's absolutely nothing in the pipeline for the Bandicoot.

Last main game was in 2008. They'll probably try to reboot him at some point in the next few years.

I heard that and have already prepared for the lack of crash and spyro. Oh well. I always assumed they'd have problems with those 2 from the beginning because of other companies who own the IP rights.

Secondly vita is going to have ad-hoc right? This has been left out of multiple games (unit 13, resistance) which is stupid. You should be able to play the person sitting right next to you.
I'm really excited about this, because me and my friends always go to this guys house that has a really small TV, and having my own handheld TV Is going to be extremely awesome.

Yeah, I agree. Companies are protective of the image they build up for their characters. And Lara Croft is a great example of that.

That's not even a Spyro game. They just had to shoe-horn the character into it for whatever reason. Spyro hardly has anything that remotely makes him the main character in that game.
