Also, that same solicitation reveals both the Black Lagoon Seasons 1 & 2 Collection BD/DVD for $55, plus what's listed as a Hellsing Ultimate Complete Collection BD/DVD for $70. No idea what the exact contents of the latter are, though.

EDIT: Press release from Right Stuf; the Hellsing Ultimate collection is volumes V - VIII.

Yes, I know, Americans are evil. But from a science fiction perspective, it's pretty dumb because of its obvious hypocrisy.

Unless you think it's dumb for any entity besides some Federation-esque utopia to tell other worlds what to do, some sort of hypocrisy is unavoidable. Hypocrisy happens all the time in international politics anyways, and it's more because nations act in their own interests than that they're evil or something.

I wouldn't expect any force with the power to back up its words to act any other way.

Definitely in for Black Lagoon and Hellsing Ultimate :D

Magic Kaito 8

Fun eps. Was a bit bummed that Spider wasn't back. And the amount of quality shots are a bit embarrassing for 2012.

I knew this manga was written before DC, but I kinda wish Kaito had more elaborate tricks like in DC.

Gundam Seed HD 22
tumblr_m8thy3Alho1qbxqfpo1_500.png

The clunkiest barrel roll Ive ever seen but it was an awesome moment, go Natarle and Murrae, whom needs more screentime. I still wonder who they have that HD-ify's scenes as stuff like this are just random to have given the treatment when they are not consistent letting stuff like this stay in.

And Cagalli what in the world are you doing
shooting at Athrun like that on the island after being shot down
. Tear through the unnoticable darkness, Gundam!
Unfortunatly the reason is that this close -up is used quite a lot in the show so it was a no brainer it would get to be improved ... The other scenes however ...
Does Seed HD remaster will get blu ray treatment after all of this ?Maybe they will continue to work on those for the blu ray release ..

What about Kuroyukihime, Sky Raker, and Niko all at the same time?

You'll be surprised what happens in a later volume

Sky raker teasing Silver crow, while black lotus watches and then guess who enter to put oil on the fire ?

lol jk

Also nice to know (episode spoilers)
that people still kill each other over being good at video games in the future. That's basically what he did.

Also I've gotta say, Asuna doesn't seem like the typical tsundere character. She's more level headed than I had expected her to be. I like that.

Ebiten episodes 1 + 2

Well...this is an interesting show. Part Haruhi Suzumiya, part Seitokai no Ichizon (same artist), with Nyaurko's seriyuu. The Sailor Moon parody is downright hilarious. Asstronomy Club indeed. Too bad the video quality is complete shit.

Zebra trying to hide his love for Komatsu's cooking is pretty funny for him. Otherwise really cool episode though it left me with lots of questions and anticipations. I hope the IGO Defence Chair, Ray, comes back again and we get to see more Nitro's!

I think I heard that even more stuff was fixed on the Blu-ray, unfortunately, Im not that much of a SEED fan as of yet to commit $269 to finding out, now if it were Wing...

You should be excited for the November's release of anime of the year, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost.

I preordered that the second it was on AMZN, a shame its dub only though :(

No he killed her because she stopped being someone who depended on him and took decisions by herself.
If she was someone who continuate to follow her whim/wishes and depend on him , those events wouldn't have happened regardless on how good they were at the game
Also I've gotta say, Asuna doesn't seem like the typical tsundere character. She's more level headed than I had expected her to be. I like that.
That's because she isn't tsundere in her character at all ... she is
a passionnate maiden discovering love bit by bit ( who loves to cook )

Discovering the trap at that moment is pretty darn convenient. Also can't say I completely agree with the second part of your post, but there is some truth to it. It's true she probably did change, but she didn't let cowardice get the better of her like he did and took charge. Wouldn't surprise me if she was a better player.

Asuna does have some tsundere elements unless I'm misunderstanding the definition of tsundere. She almost pulled her sword on Kirito in the last episode because he saw her sleeping. In this episode she almost attacked him with a fork (lol) and kicked him because he said something that embarrassed her. That seems like tsundere to me.

You're right ..she was teh better player ( she was the guild leader after all ).

As for asuna that's a little tsundere but nothing more ... they are at odds at each other all the time prior to that incident after all ..( conflicting viewpoints and all )

At this point , kirito is someone very important to her , but nothing more ... this will change and she will quickly Not act like that at all .
For the situation above , any other males with the same behavior would have met the same reaction ..in this case , a tsundere behavior but she isn't tsundere.

Also kirito wouldn't have taken any damage from the fork anyway ( they were in a town ) not would he have felt any pain ( remember ep1 ? the feelign of pain is different in Sao )

Trust me , she is far from being a tsundere character...misunderstanding always happen when a couple is being made :)

That's basically what I was getting at. I expected her to be a tsundere type of character but she only has some tsundere tendencies every now and then. That's why I was surprised.

Key the Metal Idol 2

Key herself is really charming and endearing. I worry the rest of the cast will be overexaggerated in their traits to make up for her though.

Best girl (tied with Momiji) has arrived! Ranmaru brings out the best in the 2 leads. They totally nailed her voice (though it does sound a bit odd when she's in her girl clothes). Either way, excellent episode and things will only get better from here.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko - 11

That was pretty inspirational. Unlock your potential!

Anyone here ever play Father 2 on the Kingindo?

Denpa Onna actually contains some more Mother/Earthbound references too. In the first episode when Meme and Makoto are talking at the table during dinner, during the conversation Meme says a few lines lines like "at the beginning of the 1900s the land was covered with a dark cloud" and "the father's name was George and the Mother Maria".

These are a reference to how the first Mother's story starts. As flawfuls mentioned though, this didn't get an official western release so it's no surprise if many didn't get that one.

In Episode 6 when Maekawa and Ryuuko come over to Makoto and Erio's house, Erio has a big plushie in her room which looks a lot like a Mr. Saturn character. Maekawa mentions it being a "meiousei-san", meiousei being Pluto, so it would translate to Mr. Pluto. Mr. Saturn would be "dosei-san". Just like having the name Father, this was probably to prevent copyright.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko - 12

Inspirational as hell, and a great outlook on the possibilities of the human potential.

And let's not forget this great moment.

Nice! Someone made a gif of that part. I loved that scene with Meme.

Animesuki is WAY too fragmented for my liking.

Sometimes I like Animesuki's extremely categorized nature. If you're looking for discussion from a specific episode of a specific show it makes it much easier to find. It's the same if you're looking for images or you don't want manga spoilers in with the anime conversation.

AnimeGafs more homogenized nature though let's you find out about shows you may never have heard of or little facts and information that you maybe didn't know before.

Each approach comes with it's own pros and cons but I personally like having the option of taking a look at both.

Irisu is great. Nice character design and I'm fond of the VA.

Would like to see her relationship with other school members, since she seems like a bit of a loner!

Nice! another fan! Agree with all your points.

I could see how some were maybe rubbed the wrong way with her but it should have been obvious what she was doing, or at least the idea of what she was doing as an obvious possibility. She obviously had no malignant intentions either. I think with the cultural festival arc many who didn't like her from the student film arc started to warm up to her.

Many people mentioned they didn't like her "tactics" but then laughed as she explained them to Chitanda so I don't know. People are just fickle I guess.

Ayano has allergies like me. I know your pain, Ayano. You're sneeze is adorable though. <3 <3 Even with a gas mask!

Ayano will happily accept your ice cream, Toshino Kyouko!! ;P

Sakurako, you're a bitch. Just sayin'.

Kuroyukihime and Sky Raker are easily the best female characters in the show. No others can match up to this duo.
Am I the only one in Chiyu-chan's corner? :(
No he killed her because she stopped being someone who depended on him and took decisions by herself.
I thought that bit was a nice touch. Kawahara jerks off otaku with one hand while slapping them in the face with the other.

There's like 60 pages of AnimeGAF to read, you guys work too fast. :(

So, instead of reading 60 pages of useless fluff, I will grace you with my impressions of

Thermae Romae
Live Action

I'm not sure if the wierd blur censoring was due to the fact I watched this on a plane, or if the movie was actually made that way

To start with, I must say that I often love films/books/etc where some seemingly small and insignificant occurance or event is taken and blown up to extreme proportions, so I already felt a natural affinity to this film. Bathhouses saving Ancient Rome from destruction? Yes Please!
Though it was actually a banana that saved Rome first.

Since I haven't watched the flash series or read the manga, I have no way of judging how much of the plot was created solely to provide the movie with a gripping and well placed plot, but I assume it was quite a bit. And it was indeed a well paced and fulfilling plot.

Lucius, the main character, is a high-society architect, who specializes in bath houses. Unfortunately, he's been lacking the spark of innovation he really needs to overcome his rivals, who are constantly winning projects over him. He has plenty of creativity - at times, he loses jobs because he's being too creative - but it's not enough. He needs something more, and he finds it one day while relaxing in the public baths with his friends. A little whirlpool underwater, that transports him to modern Japan. Thus starts his journey from that of a simple architect to a man who will save Rome
and get a cute Japanese waifu.

It might be due only to the fact I watched this on a 6inch fuzzy screen on the back of the chair in front of me, but I was quite impressed by the sets and make up used in this film. The main characters looked the part well enough to avoid unintentional comedy (though the same can't be said for the voice work- there's just something about hearing "Antonius-dono" and "Lucius-sama" that doesn't quite mesh with Ancient Rome) and the costumes felt very natural. Unfortunately, some of the crowds showed signs of "grab any foreign looking person you can find, slap a toga on him/her, and let's roll", but that's really only a minor quibble. Some of the backgrounds were pretty clearly CG despite the obscuring quality of the screen, but for the most part, they looked reasonably authentic.

As you'd expect from a movie of this sort, there was plenty of humor and comedy. For the most part, it thankfully avoided the common Japanese comedy routines, and focused instead on the classic "ancient person discovers modern invention, ascribes bizzare function to it, and then is astounded by the reality".

The supporting cast were all rather simple and flat, but they did accomplish their role of supporting Lucius, who was a pretty boss main character. His reactions any time he discovered a benign modern invention never failed to amuse me, and his struggle with
how much credit he really deserved for the innovations he copied from modern bath houses had some well-played nuances and a satisfying resolution.

There's undeniably quite a bit of camp to this movie, but I came away from it feeling quite satisfied, and would definitely recommend that you give it a try.

Batteries not included. Nanamori Quest. I'd buy it.

Kyouko, cicada killer. Akarin sucks at catching trains. She's pretty decent at Galaxy Express 999 parodies though.

Akarin, your life just sucks. Accept it. Also, I never want you in my party.

Himawari's imouto has Mugi eyebrows! Her heart's in the right place though.
