Halo |OT8| A Salt on the Control Room

Alot of this can already be configured in the Halo 3/Reach custom options.

Flag Carrier Waypoints for example
I assume that Pistol+Flag is the new default but id imagine that the old "Only Flag" option is still possible as is the ability to drop the flag or not.

What people are getting so dramatic over is very likely a custom CTF variant of some kind made to show CTF to the public and the new features that are possible.

But you should ignore this post and start raging like the rest of this thread and then make wild angry comments and link to semi-related youtube videos or gif's that show your personal disdain for these features in either a musical or animated format.

Well yes I know this but I don't particularly like Speedflag. If it becomes the default in playlists, I will be annoyed.

Team Objective simply wasn't a popular mode in the later Halolz. At least 343 are mixing it up instead of not changing a thing and hoping it somehow becomes more popular.

I agree in that sense, but it just seems like the wrong thing to change. I was expecting something more to do with meta-game incentives. Like MW3 sort of did with it's objective modes.

So can someone explain to me why 343 is changing stuff that was good in the previous games but are keeping stuff like camo and jetpack pretty much the same?

to be honest, both of which we have been told they were tweaked in Halo 4, so why dont you give it a day first,

I will take all valid MP complaints tomorrow after panel info drop.

It doesn't even need to be a default. If it's on the list of voting options it will get voted into your game.

I guess drop in / drop out isn't that bad after all?

Wasn't there a post that stated those were pretty much the same as in Reach? Dunno of I saw it here or on youtube.

Also, what's the shots to kill for the BR in this build? Still 5-shot or did they change it?

That's partly because they (Bungie) fucking ruined it with stupid match settings and gameplay changes. It got progressively worse. Now you have this...

Trying to make objective gametypes relevant again to the general public. Objective playlists are severely underpopulated in 3 and Reach, so by making it more appealing to casuals, they can bump participation in those gametypes.

Just a thought.

Team Objective was great in Halo 3. People didn't play it because it required teamwork

No casuals will be playing unless they add in killstreaks

Yeah right. I bet you'll be playing the shit out of 4 and loving it. :p
Oh, trust me, for the first few months of my Halo 4 experience, I'll absolutely love it.

I fully expect all the possible ways to abuse AAs/specializations/etc to come out shortly after though. I really hope I'm wrong, because the base gameplay looks incredible. I just cannot possibly fathom how this all works with the additions.

Hey guys, look at it this way: after Reach's BTB, the only way to go from here is up! Maybe we won't go up very high, but at least we'll go up!

rip ctf
Yeah, BTB looks great so far. I have critiques, for sure, but far fewer than I do with CTF.

Ehh, plenty of people from HaloGAF dropped out after Reach hit...

No casuals will be playing unless they also add a martyrdom park

They ruined Assualt with the dumb as hell arming mechanics which could be abused more with the stupid bubble shield.

Flag carriers were slowed down to a crawl.

Sudden death was butchered.

It was a pathetic follow up to H2.

I can't wait until we get clarification of everything and then we can calm down. So many of us are on edge, myself included lol.

Then you'll keep playing it but complain about it in this thread. That's how it will go for most people I believe. Possibly myself included.

Team Objective wasn't popular in games that had terrible map/gametype combinations and bad gametypes period. Don't start off your Objective playlist with One Sided VIP on huge maps, instant arm Assault, constant Territories, Stockpile and Headhunter on asymmetric maps, and AR starts and maybe it'll do better. Mix it up by making it a better playlist. Reach's Objective is a good playlist with some massive flaws, and its population reflects that; it is good, not great.

Because everyone loves a waypoint over their head when they try to go for the objective, right? Plus the only way to defend yourself when carrying the flag is a shitty pistol that has bloom. Sounds like a great way to make CTF more accessible.

I can't wait for this game to come out so we can stop finding out shit through off-screen videos and he-said she-said on Twitterbook and FaceSpace and shit

I'm actually quite interested to see how the new CTF plays for myself, I knew that they would probably change something about CTF, at the very least because everyone has unlimited sprint now, but wasn't sure how 343 would approach it.

I couldn't juggle the flag to save my life, so doesn't really make much difference to me lol!

Most of the 1 flag/1 bomb games also have quitting or low pop because of that 4th round when the winner is already decided.

This reply isn't aimed at you Tashi, you just bring up a point that's been raised, over and over again.

How many times must 343 insist on releasing/or allow information to be recieved in this manner? Surely, it must give them a headache.

Why not explain the CTF changes in the bulletin first? I really don't understand the backwards way MP info has been released.

Also, I don't really care about the CTF changes, I'll end up loving it.
