If you're talking about consistency, I'm not sure why you'll pick Production IG. They have their fair share of duds too. :p

That's true, but recently I think their TV work has been fairly strong, with Kimi ni Todoke s2, Bunny Drop, Blood-C, Guilty Crown, their Young Animators shorts, and the upcoming Robotics;Notes.

Oh, and apparently the official English title for Wasurenagumo is Li'l Spider Girl, heh.

Edit: BONES, Ufotable, and A-1 Pictures are also studios which would easily be notable for having solid backgrounds in most of their shows as well.

Eh, based on what Jexhius has been posting from Eureka Seven Ao, I don't think I could in good conscience list them there. Ufotable did good work in Fate/Zero, but I want to see more. A-1 Pictures is another one, sure.

Tell that to Yousuke Kuroda, Mari Okada, Reiko Yoshida, or pretty much any other veteran anime screenwriter. It's just part of the job if you want to expand your presence in the industry.

That sounds insane to do that for two shows airing at the same time.

E7AO's backgrounds are about as consistent as the ones in Guilty Crown and Blood-C. The art direction itself is extremely strong in the key episodes, and then for pretty much everything else it depends on whether they have time to really try.

I think you should be careful to start holding up Brains Base as a shining example just because of two shows which share an art director/studio. It's not like they'll be using Studio Pablo for all their productions from now on. (Pablo's next productions, by the way, will be a 5 minute show starting next winter, a 1 cour show next spring, and another 1 cour show next summer.) For next season, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun looks like it'll have some nice backgrounds but Ixion Saga DT probably won't have much to offer.

Sure, but even before that, Dororon Enma-kun had nice art direction. So I wasn't strictly thinking of their last two works.

Insane? They do it all the time. Not just 2 shows either. You can write 3-4 shows at the same time, 6-8 shows a year, and maybe 1-2 movies too. You're paid by the script, so the more work you do, the more you earn.

Well, it could be, maybe Jexhius picked out some really bad shots. I just can't remember the last time I was particularly impressed with the background art in a BONES series.

So I guess it doesn't take long to pump a script out.

Cartman-kun has no penis confirmed. :/ I think that was an actual South Park episode.

Well it's not like they usually write all the scripts for the series themselves, though it sometimes happens(Bunny Drop).

Depending on the project and writer, that isn't particularly unusual either. Urobuchi wrote all of Madoka himself.

Enokido wrote all of Diebuster, Melody of Oblivion, Ouran, Star Driver himself.

Aikawa wrote all of 12 Kingdoms, Ayakashi Ayashi, Un-Go himself.

Kuroda wrote all of sCRYed, Gungrave, Gundam 00 himself.

Okada wrote all of Wandering Son, Black Rock Shooter TV, AKB0048 herself.

It's really not that unusual if you want to be a "well known" screenplay writer in the anime industry. Being able to handle series composition while also writing all the script means the production team has less people to communicate with, and it also means you make more money yourself. It's great business.

Yes but it seems the whole process; editing, changes, and proof-reading would take some time.

Anime isn't made the day before the show airs. Butch has been working on Psycho-Pass since April 2011 for example.

I wasn't insinuating that. You're right though that due to how long he's been working on PP, the scripts for the most part might be already done.

Hyouka 21

And, so starts me catching up. And that was a great episode to start with. As usual, everything looks so good, the whole snow scene was great to watch.

Nice developing Satoshi's character. Went in a little different direction than I expected but it was still pretty good.

The mystery was whatever though, but with everything still looking as nice as it does, this was a good watch.

Well, that explains Black Rock Shooter, LOL.

To be fair, a lot of great music was missed due to the show not focussing on orchestra sequences after season 1 anymore. Well, on the positive side of that, it saved us from more ugly CG orchestras.

Haha yeah, a lot of season 1 episodes were filled with just orchestras and music being played.

Gundam Seed Destiny 46
I don't care how many times it happens in every Gundam series. the pointless character deaths(in this case of a pointless character)
never fail to annoy me every single time.

Considering it's one cour and directed by chiaki kon after season 1, I ain't surprised.

NO THEY NEVER COME BACK AT ALL
WHAT A SAD THING THAT THE ANIME IS OVER AFTER THE FIRST (AND ONLY)SEASON THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY WATCHING
I'M SO THANKFUL THAT THERE'S NOT A SHITTY SEASON 2 TO RUIN EVERYTHING FROM SEASON 1
IF THERE WERE I WOULD ABSTAIN FROM WATCHING IT OUT OF PRINCIPLE
UNTIL THEN I SHALL CONTINUE PRAYING FOR A SECOND SEASON OF GUNSLINGER GIRL

I, too, will be sad when this season is over.

If I heard about a second season, I'd probably jump into watching it straight away. Why bother with impressions or other videos? If it's a follow-up to something this good, surely it's of equal or better quality.

Don't worry, I won't do it.

Imagine a Hosoda-directed film with art direction from Shinkai, though.

You think Hosoda's art direction is worse than Shinkai? I don't think so, he just not give most of his focus to make cloud or sky porn.

Hosoda have far more experience as Animator afterall.

Well sure, but the art director is generally going to listen to the director. I just think a film directed by Hosoda, combining his animation sensibilities with Shinkai's background art, could look pretty amazing.

Wait, Shinkai's new movie is about the same shit AGAIN? God, I can appreciate the animation porn to some degree, but I really don t know if I want to watch the same stuff again. Hopefully, no trains this time.
Considering I already disliked 5cm, I should probably just skip this one.

Eureka Seven AO 21

I really should stop giving a shit about this show.

*Sigh*

They don't have a single fucking clue what to do with Naru and Nakamura.

It also confirmed a bunch of theories that make the whole timeline of the franchise a complete clusterfuck.
So this isn't some alternate world bullshit but a time loop? LOLOLOLOL. Also I guess Elena's real identity is of nobody of importance. Trolling of the highest caliber.

We won't even talk about the bullshit coincidences that served solely as a plot dump.

This whole show doesn't make an ounce of fucking sense.

I was looking forward to seeing if they'd show Yuno and Miyako's first meeting with Sae and this show didn't disappoint. I do like how they have these little things they like to reference with the non-chronological nature of the show like the TV ad for the snack they asked Chika about in one the the earlier episodes.
I wonder what's up with Room 203
