So I was at the scar and uga game, holy crap! It was well worth that first quarter alone. Broke the attendance record and we were crazy loud.

When ace sanders ran it back from that punt the place was going nuts.

The stadium chanted "overrated" , clap clap clap...

Georgia fans poured out last 2 mins of the third qtr. People were waving goodbye (the band played "glad you came"). We were trying for a shutout but they got that one td. It was glorious..

Hopefully we don't choke like we did @ ky and play some good football at lsu and fl!

GO STATE!

We went to a liCal sports bar/pub for dinner tonight, the gatas fans were leaving disappointed when we got there, the fsu fans were starting to fill in as we were leaving, both fan bases in full force, kinda like how UK fans try to pretend how thongs are in the ville. Other then the Yuengling tour, not once did I see anyone representing USF, UCF, or Miami.
To be fair, don't know where this was. And we did play our game on Thursday.

I don't understand why people don't want Notre Dame to move up in the poll. In fact we should all hope they can somehow run the table to #3 before they play Wake Forest only to lose spectacularly. This would yield maximum schadenfreude.

Speaking of Notre Dame. The game did not turn out like this Miami fan thought. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_uAc50LABg

Are you crazy? Maximum schadenfreude will only be achieved when Notre Dame is humbled enough to actually join a fucking conference. I think that might take three straight 0 win seasons, so that's what I'm pulling for.

Alabama A&M is a perfect 6-0 for the first time in, like, ever.

Everybody said over the summer and at the beginning of the season the Auburn game would be a complete massacre... but man, I dunno. A&M has looked good these last 4 games or so. I actually think they could have a shot unless they regress.

That's one of the only two potential wins I'm seeing on Auburn's remaining schedule. 2-10 with an FCS loss would make me :jnc pretty hard.

And what the hell at the games while I was gone. We just need to fill half the top ten with vacancy signs.

If Notre Dame comes in to Norman undefeated, that's the closest I'll ever come to rooting for OU.

But I still hope Notre Dame beats their asses.

That's the situation I call a "Meteor Game," in which you root for not either of the teams on the field, but instead the unnamed interplanetary hero that may or may not be hurtling towards the stadium. Or perhaps a "Bane Game," which is self explanatory if you've seen "The Dark Knight Rises."

Yep.

It's still more advantageous for me if OU loses, so that's the outcome I'll root for.

On the same note: Hook 'Em.

Question for you, were the Nebraska fans super quiet to you as well? I was pretty disappointed with the Nebraska fans loudness, UCF fans were louder (dead serious)

Not exactly atypical of our fans from my experience. Especially on the road and when we stumble even a bit. We've never been good at coming from behind and when anything goes wrong it usually snowballs like it did last night. I think a lot of our fans have acquired a bit of a fatalistic streak when it comes to struggles on the field. So it quickly dissolves into glum/grim acceptance of our fate and we don't rebound out of that state back into a positive state but rather into thinking "when is the next thing going to go wrong."

I'd also argue that we're more knowledgeable about the game than the average fanbase so more of us see the missed blocks, missed assignments, etc. and it feeds right back into that fatalistic streak. Even when we're doing "okay" we see the sloppiness, the poor play by certain players, questionable play calls, etc. and we wait for those mistakes to come back and bite us in the ass.

Ohio state fans are also regarded as one of the more knowledgable fans. But installing even when you guys got up 17-7 after that last td they barely made any sound.

We're a relatively quiet fanbase considering our size. People will blame it on the blue hairs (who are part of the problem) but they're not the whole reason. Occasionally you'll see us get loud but those are usually games we've got some prior association with. We have no recent ties or associations to any Big Ten school other than Iowa. There's no rivalries there, no history of a tough fight (Missouri, Texas, Kansas State), etc. We haven't fully engaged with this conference yet.

Fair enough. I just expected more especially when I was out in Lincoln last year and that stadium was rocking.

New stadium attendance record now sits at 106,102, always boggles my mind considering our capacity is only 102k

Thinking about it some more, after we're up by two scores a lot of us would probably consider it to be improper/impolite to cheer too loudly. You gotta remember a lot of us are old enough to remember when we ran away with games on a weekly basis so we don't want to rub it in when things look good. Then when the game turned quickly after that our negative nancy selves kick in and we just silently accept the mistakes piling up.

This is maybe the most insane thing of all time lol.

(Not saying you're wrong, just crazy to me.)

We used to run the score up every week. It's a natural extension of that Nebraska niceness not to want to rub it in for the other team. We're oddly (odd by the social norms of some others) concerned with the enjoyment of the opposing fans. We want you to have as good a time as possible and if that means we quiet down after we're up a few that's what is going to happen.

Check out this thread from some Badgers after the Wisconsin game last week. A lot of them thought we were "up to something" or "trying extra hard" to be nice for some ulterior motive. That's just the way we are.

Only two of those top 5 teams have any chance of being in the top 5 at the end of the season. Rankings are funny like that.

And when was the last time Oregon State was in the top 10?

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
Arizona has taken the spot of the gimmie game away from Colorado. Thank you 'Cats!

I love Urban Meyer.
I think that last run was excessive and shows the character of the man.

The march towards the AP title has officially begun!

Honestly I'm curious if this is possible. Even if OSU runs the table you're getting out of two of the toughest games that would be on your schedule; the B1G Championship & a BCS Bowl. Given the weakness in the B1G this year and a non-conf schedule that didn't include any particularly impressive teams I'm not sure voters will put OSU above even a one loss SEC champion.

Nah, any of those SEC teams would have to lose at least 2 to end outside the top 5.

I love it. Despite the scandal, Tressel generally tried his hardest to not run up the score and show mercy to his opponents yet opposing coaches couldn't wait to talk shit. I hope Urban drops 60+ on everyone from here on out.

Realistically I don't believe it'll happen but I like to keep the dream alive. Braxton for Heisman however, is much more likely. He might be a solid #2 behind Geno Smith right now.

They were keeping the ball on the ground to run out the clock.

It's not Meyer's fault your defense sucks ass.

Pretty much how I feel.
Make a stop, Bo was using his timeouts and there over a minute left. Step up and make a play on defense.

Also how is Martinez still starting, he is pretty garbage.

Oregon State is going to lose its top ten ranking this Saturday in Provo. Calling it now.

remember that stupid as hell decision to run Taysom Hill with 1:00 to go instead of taking a Knee?

Reports are that his knee injury could be season ending.

I swear...
