Which team cost you last year?
I honestly don't remember. I don't really remember a lot from last year.

I will just go and make the assumption that I got double teamed by the Pats and Ravens, both teams that just love to fuck you.

:jnc, we aren't in the same league as the Texans this season.

Yeah it sucks brentech but there are going to be down years every now and then. You guys clearly escaped most of the Infante years if a bad season is going to make you all morose! (I don't think any of you are old enough to remember Gregg?)
Just turned 29 yesterday, but didn't start really getting into NFL ball until 2000-2001

Rejoice Falcons-GAF.

Feels good, but being a Falcons fan I am getting worried about McFadden who had 113 yards rushing against the Steelers.

Platinum Trophy: Learned to Shit While Upright Again.
Dude had 300 yards in the air with 3 TDs and zero picks playing basically 3 quarters of football. It's not like he could have done much more with the running game being as effective as it's been and the game way out of reach. He had a great game last year against the Saints.

He played against a CFL team in the Bills

The same Bills who made Sanchez look like a HOF Quarterback

Seriously, some of you SF fans are delusional

Talk all this shit about how they have a great team, yet have nothing to fucking show for it
You were relevant when you had a Mormon as your QB and a WR who is more famous as a winner of Dancing with the Stars, than his career

Please until your team can prove us haters wrong, we going to hate, get that ring, our mouths shut up to a degree, until then fair game

Great teams overcome, you can go bu.. bu.. Rookie fumbled gave Giants win, what are you gonna do?... Maybe play like the history of your goddamn team and eviscerate them, so they have no chance of coming back
Until then the blue collar Alexis is still in training bras working her way up

Seasons done. I dont think they can do this again like they did last year.
Cripes you Texans fans are fatalistic. Lose one guy on defense and the season's over? (admittedly he's a key player but you've got a ton of talent on that side of the ball) You're 5-0, generally healthy and play in a division that's easily winnable in a weak conference.

Greatly looking forward to when Bill belicheck trades away Brady and the Ravens actually become exciting. I used to feel the same way about Pittsburgh until the Broncos got their number more recently.

Fumble game and Ray Roades were bad enough.

Disappointing seeing Rodgers waste his prime years on this bs.
Any chance of returning to a Super Bowl is dwindling pretty quickly.

I'm little concerned as well with the struggles we've been having stopping the run, but you have to believe the gameplan will be primarily to stop McFadden.

They had a long time in the dark:
In the 24 seasons from 1968 to 1991, the Packers had only five seasons with a winning record (above .500), one being the shortened 1982 strike season. They appeared in the playoffs twice during that period, with a record of 1–2. The period saw five different head coaches – Phil Bengtson, Dan Devine, Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg, and Lindy Infante – two of which were former Packer players in Lombardi's era (Starr and Gregg), and one of which was a former coach (Bengtson). Each of these men led the Packers to a poorer record than his predecessor. Poor personnel decisions typified this time period. A notorious example includes the 1974 trade in which Dan Devine acting as GM sent five 1975 and 1976 draft picks (two first-rounders, two second-rounders and a third) to the Los Angeles Rams for aging quarterback John Hadl, who would spend only 1½ seasons in Green Bay.[13] Another came in 1989, when players such as Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, and Derrick Thomas were available, but the Packers chose offensive lineman Tony Mandarich with the second overall pick in the NFL draft. Though rated highly by nearly every professional scout at the time, Mandarich's performance failed to meet expectations. ESPN has rated Mandarich as the third "biggest sports flop" in the last 25 years.[14]

I will stop hating the Pats once Brady and Bill are gone.

I will always hate the Ravens though.

Like...ever? Are you being serious? Good God.

And it is abundantly clear that Nick Collins was the real MVP of this team!

Still have to beat the Colts at least once. Can't imagine losing to the Jags specially at home, and I don't think we have ever gone 2-0 on the Titans, but hopefully this year.

We got Green Bay, Ravens..with both not looking that good, and Patriots, Bears, Vikings..which look pretty tough right now.

Oh and, and we face the Bills. That should be fun.

He is the 2nd best player on defense to Watt.
The LB core wasn't that good even with him in, but he was a huge part in keeping that group together.

Not being fatalistic, being realistic.

By the time we play the Vikings and the Colts season and playoff seeding should basically be done honestly. Last 3 games of the season.

Yeah. Not gonna be bent out of shape about losing to the Vikings. They will probably need the win more than us at that point.

Like...ever? Are you being serious?
I didn't say ever but there are several holes that need filling.

Ted thought Jenkins was replaceable like he thought Wells was like he thinks Jennings is.
Those are all three "problem" positions that are having a huge effect.

And it is abundantly clear that Nick Collins was the real MVP of this team!
You joke but there is no safety on this team. Everyone is a glorified corner.

Giants had a three game losing streak the middle of last season.
They also started 6-2 in a shit division.

Before week 5 is completely dead and forgotten, I just want to say "Fuck you Jets" one more time. Last night should have been epic. Instead it was a boring mess. Stupid Jets. Your record is better than the Browns' but you're worse. Don't ask how. Just know it. You're worse.

McCarthy either needs the team to acquire a running back he trusts (he seemingly started to trust Benson), or he needs to adjust his offensive scheme if he can't run the ball. In 2010 and 2011 they pretty much replaced the running game with a short passing game. Go back to that.

Nick Collins really was an important set piece. Sucks he went down how he did.

We still have a chance this year, they just have to find their chemistry. They look like they're totally out of sync, but if they can get out of the funk they've been in since the NYG game, they still have plenty of time this year.

The remaining games on our schedule, we should really have a fair shot to clinch a wildcard at the least, but if we continue how we've played, that won't happen.

When did they do that?

They did it here and there but not that much.
Then again in 2011 they didn't need to.

Benson could've been 2007 Ryan Grant. Maybe he still can but I'm not optimistic with that injury.

Agreed though.

Reality: You're 5-0 and play the Titans and Jags twice in the division along with a young Colts team that is rebuilding. It would take a collapse of Giants 2009 proportions for you to not make the playoffs. I just don't see that happening with the quality of players you have on defense. More specifically with Watt playing at the level he is.

I get that you lost a key player but that's what separates the good teams from the bad - depth and being able to absorb those losses. I've seen Texans fans here argue that the Texans are woefully disrespected and given no credit - well if you have no belief you're team can't absorb that one loss then why should they be? It's a rather strange fatalistic perspective to me.

Pretty much. They should still win the division. Number 1/2 seed and all that in the AFC though I think is out the window. Cushing was a star player and overall the LB core had weak links with him there. Now that he's gone they're about to get dat work

..

So yeah...winning division obviously puts you in the playoffs, I was speaking more terms of where they are currently situated.

Nice OP once again Buckethead. Certainly beats the knock off that Cuevas put out in drunken diabetic Cutler stupor.

I love the Peyton gif, sums up the losses so far.

Even with that said, I want Denver to go in and beat the Chargers ass. I can handle a beat down from the Pats, but Denver better get their shit together this week. 3-3 @ the bye with the division lead and a softer schedule will be a huge boost towards finishing off the season. They have to get it done.

A few years ago I remember there was a big argument here about if Ben was a top QB or not. He was so good Sunday, I cant imagine anyone doesnt have hi in their top 3 now. 5 times Eagles defenders had a hand on him in the backfield and they got 0 sacks on him. No QB is better at avoiding the rush and buying extra time then him.

The Ben/Haley marriage is working pretty well right now. Ben can still extend plays, but I think Haley has gotten through to him on getting rid of it faster and hitting checkdown guys. Mendenhall should see a jump in receptions this year, he's never had more than 25 in a season. I just hope Ben stays healthy.

We are playing Hasselbald. I am worried what a competent qb who can read a defense and get the ball out against the blitz can do against our D.

On the plus side the Texans don't have any running backs we have to worry about.

Steelers should still win easy but I have some fear of the bald...

Sure, I just think you're overestimating the quality of your AFC opposition. The Texans have as much ability to beat the Ravens/Pats as they have of beating you. Both are remarkably flawed teams.

I have to admit, the GB implosion caught me off guard this season. I expected the Vikings and Lions to have mediocre seasons with the bears and Packers taking the lead. But the Vikings offense has looked stellar so far, while the Packers look just plain lost.

From what I have seen of the chargers, they do look better than the Raiders, but certainly they are not much better. Against the raiders they were actually pretty abysmal. It was the raiders making them look better than they actually are. The funny thing is that with the much easier schedule from here on out the Broncos could really turn things around. But, I can never count out any AFC West teams because the motivational factors of in division rivalry always make them unpredictable.

I wouldn't say their offense is stellar, their defense (especially run) is the real story

I mean Ponder has nice looking numbers but he's been throwing short passes and Percy has been getting really good YAC.

No, but he caused a lot of Saints hate that wasnt here before with his bandwagoning bullshit.
Now its hard for actual Saints fans to enjoy what the team accomplishes because yall hate them so much.
But whatever I guess.
god what a whiny post. what do you expect? your team won a superbowl and had a huge scandal on their name, im sure there are no other teams that have experienced this sort of hate...

Romo V Flacco? So much potential for hilarity.

Baltimore wins by 30 (yet Flacco is terrible anyway)

Both teams had some rough games. Obviously Dallas had a far more disastrous one, but Ravens had some trouble getting TDs last week. Still won though.

I can't imagine Dallas sucking ass two times in a row. But there is always the possibility!

A nice catch for Julio Jones of Atlanta vs the Redskins:
ulio.gif

Redskins did better than the game stats show. I think they were 1-9 on third downs but that "1" was a TD.

And I think Cousins will be OK if RGIII is unable to start.

It was an entertaining game. Thank you Redskins.

Hassledbad is 1-3 against the Steelers.....the win came way back in 2003 when the Steelers finished 6-10. Though I understand some of your fear with how suspect this year's D is. I'm remaining positive about this one though....besides, if the Steelers can't win this game, then the season is fucked.
