My Shibata is reggie.
some of you guys are getting your hopes way too up.
I expect pretty much everything we know so far, and don't expect any YOSHI Wii U reveals or stuff like that.
god no! that would be aweful!Fixed
If it interacts with Wii U I'd be stoked.
Imagine. No releases like Project Zero or the Rainfall 3 and blatant lying during interviews. Shibata is rad.god no! that would be aweful!
So I don't know if we need an official statement (or if we already got one), but the direct will indeed be about 3DS and Wii U software for the rest of 2012 and beginning of 2013.
Maybe Miiverse 3ds also? They said it was coming.
Just so everyone knows, Bill Trinen is holding a clementine, not an orange.
I think.
Christmas is coming. This is about this years releases.
Given the backend Nintendo's reserved on Wii U (1GB RAM + dedicated dual core ARM CPU), I'm not expecting Miiverse integrated on the current 3DS/XL models. If it does come, it'll be in an upspecced revision with dedicated resources for it.
Basically the rest of launch window. We probably know about everything already except maybe some surprise U ports (like Tomb Raider, RE6, F1 Stars, etc)So I don't know if we need an official statement (or if we already got one), but the direct will indeed be about 3DS and Wii U software for the rest of 2012 and beginning of 2013.
OMG Walking Dead game confririrmed.
Never seen The Walking Dead. What are you dudes talking 'bout?Waking Dead Wii U confirmed!
What's that shot from, anyway?
so it will be paper mario, luigi's mansion, lego city, ninja gaiden and sing it... well...
Just expand some of your 3DS eShop IPs over to the Wii U. I wouldn't mind some pushmo or crashmo.

Like I said in my post though, the 3DS seems to have the resources free already for basic Miiverse functionality. I think it's a pipe dream to expect the home Miiverse menu, with all the Miis and game icons, to ever come to the 3DS. But the Miiverse social networking tool should be fairly easy to accomplish.
Every time I hit HOME on the 3DS it captures and stores a screenshot, and it keeps that screenshot no matter what else I do, unless I close down the game or return to the game. Just like the Wii U. I can boot the web browser while a game is suspended, log into NeoGAF, and browse the forums full of images and text, check and send my PMs, all with no problem.
In theory, Miiverse communities and networking are nothing more than a glorified forum. All of which could implemented purely on a browser level. Like, if I could access Miiverse from my average web browser, then I could also access it from my 3DS while a game is suspended.
The only hurdle I can see is Nintendo has already developed Letter Box, which Miiverse is an extension of, and I cant see them making that bootable while a game is suspended.
I think that there will be some new games too, because Reggie said in an IGN interview that they will release some games "during the launch window that we haven't announced yet."
I was about to buy a 3DS XL today...should I wait for this thing first?
Why? Do you think they will announce a new revision? Not going to happen...just buy. Unless you mean a price drop for Europe?
For people wondering what might show, here's the rest of the confirmed launch window Wii U lineup:
007 Legends (Activision)
Aban Hawkins & the 1,001 Spikes (Nicalis)
Aliens: Colonial Marines (Sega)

Cloudberry Kingdom (Pwnee Studio)
Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 (Tecmo Koei)
Game & Wario (Nintendo)
Jeff Tailfin Racing (Maximum Games)
Jeopardy (THQ)
LEGO City Undercover (Nintendo)
Marvel Pinball (Zen Studios)
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Capcom)
Mutant Mudds Deluxe (Renegade Kid)
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Electronic Arts)
Pikmin 3 (Nintendo)
Puddle (Neko Entertainment)
Rayman Legends (Ubisoft)
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (City Interactive)
The Amazing Spider-Man (Activision)

I think almost everything will apply to Europe too though, except Puddle which is already out. Some kay not make launch window though (lol Nicalis). Did the US get any launch games already that EU missed out on?That's the American launch window.

Tune in here tomorrow at 9AM PT for a new Nintendo Direct! Well be taking a fresh look at several announced Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games coming in 2013.
Cool figure.

I'm half expecting Pikmin 3 to get pushed to Q2 everywhere tbh. I dunno why, just a feeling...Ninja Gaiden, Mighty Switch Force and Scribblenauts still coming - maybe some others too. Pikmin and W101 will not make launch window in EU from last we've heard.
Keyword here is announced.
Man I just want The Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3. Everything else in the launch window (except Rayman, which I know enough about) is dull, boring, and ported. Those are the two big games I'm dying to get my hands on.

Aliens seems a pretty cool game. But yeah mostly ports or nothing of interest. Still a lot of good games for the system so early in its lifecycle.
I wonder if its possible that the 3DS sees a complete OS overhaul and the Wii U interface is the new standard.
Warawara on the top screen, updated channels on the bottom (with a toggle to switch them).
Is this even possible with the kind of hardware the 3DS runs with? I hope so, because that kind of cohesiveness goes a long way towards developing a mature ecosystem that becomes signature to Nintendo products the way Live and PSN are to MS and Sony respectively.
