DmC coming to PC January 25th

So if I run this at 120fps, will it feel like 240!?

Great news, though. I didn't like the PS3 demo at all but it might still be an okay game to pick up, especially if it's Steamworks and has an unlocked framerate.

Even at YT's 30fps, those videos are absolute butter compared to the console versions, and I thought those ran well enough.

Also, AMD's doing one serious push to make sure devs are on their side.
Well, to be fair, the 360 version actually holds a consistent 30 fps so, in YT form, the two really should look the same in motion.

In person, though, it's going to be a whole different story.

Depends on the encode from the uploader. If they throw in frame interpolation for the lost frames it can look better than identical footage with the other frames cut out despite the yt cap.

That's not the case here, however.

The direct feed 60 fps video from Blim's site, however, is gorgeous.

The real question is: where the hell is RE6? DmC's turn-around is blazing compared to the wait I've been doing for that one. I, honestly, thought I'd be waiting much longer.

AMD GPUs have their own form of video interpolation that you can apply to internet videos. I thought YT had 60fps support until I figured that out.

Damn that 60fps looks glorious. Is it me or does the combat feel pretty slow though. In that video i mean.

At 60fps you really notice the slow/exaggerated motions they had to give Dante for the game to be playable at 30fps on consoles.

Gamers that download DmC Devil May Cry via Steam will be able to take full advantage of features such as Cloud saving, achievements, friends support and leaderboards.

Capcom picks up Steamworks

Death of GFWL confirmed

PC version of this game is pointless. It already feels like 60fps.

lol

Truly a 5 star post.

the MTFramework ones are in-house, that's why they are gfwl.

Capcom PC games are done outside. It all depends on the company they contract.

Shit I may have spoken too soon.

It's a shame they couldn't release the PC version alongside the PS360 version. Whenever the PC version comes out in early 2013, it will have to compete against a heavily discounted console version.

Hopefully the steam version is actually a steamworks game and not one of those abominations with steamwork's features and GFWL.

There is no GFWL."

So no GFWL confirmed.

On the plus side, there's a decent chance wel'll get the patches and/or some of the DLC included on PC though. RE6 would also benefit from the boost in FPS/resolution quite a bit.

Okay Capcom, now just put DMC4 for $5 during the Winter sale to drum up interest in DmC. I swear I'll buy DmC, this isn't a test.

Amazing.

It took them so many years and so many games infested with GFWL shovelware, but Capcom have finally listened to their customers. I wonder if they had some exclusivity contract with MS to use GFWL, or if it was just Japan being Japan, and thinking PC gamers want the awful and hobbled Xbox experience on their PC.

The official statement was that churning out a GFWL version of a 360 game was pretty easy and cheap, the latter probably being the reason why they did it.

I see. I suppose that makes sense, and also explains From Software's decision to bundle it with Dark Souls on PC too.

At any rate, if Capcom are going to invest more into making a better PC version of their games, I hope that means they reap better rewards from the platform.

Saw the 60FPS version it looks pretty good but it's not stable at 60FPS, there are drops all over.

Feels like 30FPS etc. Still better than console version. I don't think my PC would be able to run it better than that.

I like this new Japan. SEGA did the same with my GOTY nominee Binary Domain.

Do the animations look any better/ different?

A Devil May Cry game shouldn't be played at anything less than this.

Well, this is a Devil May Cry game designed around 30fps, so while it will look better I don't feel it will greatly change the experience this time.

Just watched those two PC gameplay videos, I got to say this look much better than consoles.

But as far as gameplay is concerned, the game is obviously designed for 30fps, do not expect to get the feel of DMC3 or DMC4 just by playing this game at 60fps. These are completely different combat mechanics compared to the old games. The high level of play we have seen in the old games is simply impossible with this combat system. I'm not saying that you can not be creative with this game, just that compared to DMC3 and DMC4 the range of things you can do here is much smaller.

But I guess it will be more than enough for vast majority of people who play hack and slash games though..

I don't understand Capcom sometimes. They get this game out almost day and date for PC, but don't release Dragon's Dogma. I feel like the latter would find a much larger audience on PC.

Doesn't Dragon's Dogma use dedicated servers for the pawn system? I thought that was the generally accepted theory why they didn't port it.

Do we no longer hate this game?
