Ha, the rivers around me barely had live fish. Everything you have in your neck of the woods sounds kinda crazy, especially the alligators.

Apparently, Mr. Anno has always been so insistent about this topic that there even has been some resentment about this between the two! And the wish commenced right after finishing the production of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, in which he was so invested into to the point of him trying to go overboard (the 'three shade-colors' incident and all that), and storyboards were already being prepared for the two other parts of the, somewhat planned, trilogy. Mr. Miyazaki ended up shooting down the project (and part of that plan of Mr. Anno directing one of the films)... and nothing known since then! Mr. Anno later expressed interests in only adapting the final volume of the graphical novel, although those ended only as wishes as well...

... if I remember correctly these TOKYO FM's GHIBLI ASEMAMIRE program volumes talk precisely about this matter, on an interview with Hideaki Anno:

I've had the impression before that Mr. Miyazaki took advantage of Mr. Anno's passion but clearly only trusted on his own creative vision for the project as a whole, and doesn't wants to hear about further plans. That reminds me of this other nugget of wisdom from the cunning, opportunist sage that he seems to be:

I would understand this opinion if Tamako were a yuri show done solely for the titillation of the audience, but nothing of the sort appears in the cartoon so far. Unless you just wanna drop it because girls liking girls is naughty to you and well that's just real sad.

Alright so, long story short, I'm retiring from GAF. Not anything to do with you guys, just that posting here (and other places on the internet, including the IRC) constantly is a distraction that I can no longer afford. I may or may not come back later on down the line, but for right now I'm done. :(

Actually, I'll probably make the occasional post on Gaming if something big happens and maybe show up here to give quick impressions on what I'm currently watching, but nothing more. Just can't do it anymore.

Sasami, Haganai, and Minami-ke are still pretty good and I have no desire to watch Tamako 2. Maybe one of these days... Hopefully others here will be able to take on the SHAFT banner in my stead!
