I will look over my THQ history...

Road Rash - It all started here. A badass game for an 8 year old to see. There were shitty ports and sequels but the original is awesome.

Where's Waldo? - Damn that time limit, but it is part of my NES memories.

Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo - Rather overlooked compared to the other Factor 5 shooters, but it was my favorite.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Amazing, kickass, and they gave it to me for free.

Titan Quest - Fantastic, and may have secured enough of a dedicated fanbase for Grim Dawn to happen.

Red Faction: Guerrilla - Fantastic space demolition action game. Sometimes it's crazy how much it feels like you're driving around on mars. So unique and the deconstructing of buildings was at times so grand and complex it was amazing.

Dawn of War II - I actually need to finish this, as I acquired it in my "age of backlog" but it seems really great.

Costume Quest - Super cute and creative and helping Double Fine become established was the right thing to do.

Saints Row: The Third - The best sandbox action game I have ever played. It raised the bar for everyone.

Still have others from the bundle that I have yet to play. My THQ experience isn't extensive but neither is my money, and if it weren't for the gesture I may have never known the bundle games. Major kudos for making final efforts to get the work of the developers out there to be experienced by as many people as possible.

I will remember Big Mutha Truckers with affection; not because it was that good a game; just funny.

Also, Conkers and De Blob.

Sad day...

Being a kid in the late '80 and early '90, when you rented a game, you didnt really care about the logo of the devs on the box..

But when dat THQ logo appeared.. You knew you were in for some craptastic experience that would ruin your weekend!

Saints Row 2

I find few side missions very irritating like the bodyguard for example and it took me a lot of time to to finally beat them, also driving was rough few times, the graphics over the car colors weren't that perfect, but I must say it was one of the greatest relaxing and enjoyable game with the best character customisation that I faced until now. I manage to make a character that I cannot find in any game even now, he is so unique that even Saints Row The Third can't replicate it. I had a lot of more fun with Saints Row 2 from the entire series. Throwing a Zombie videogame while playing on TV inside Saints Row 2 ? that was one of the best ideas to put, who else have ever done that ?. Not to forget that is third with best soundtracks after GTA SA & Scarface World Is Yours on my list where you could sort them out, but it also having one of those best personalities like Johnny Gat; Jin-LOST voice. Tons of great content from foods, weapons, clothes, cars, bikes, airplanes, helicopters, grab people and hold them as shield, trow them, grab food/drinks in the middle of the battle, swim, parachute, buy stores.

For THQ downfall, I shall play Saints Row 2 again.

The same goes by telling good things for Metro Series and Red Faction 2001 [Classic] only.

Thank you for Space Marine, THQ, you made me interested in the series, and introduced me to the most badass units in fiction ever.

I remember THQ from the old days as a reader of GamePro, EGM, NEXT Generation....the 16-bit era. They put out some of the worst games that would make Acclaim go 'Gee, I'm not sure we would even publish this.' Home Alone. Lethal Weapon. Wayne's World. Broken games that had licenses that took advantage of the capabilities of the 16-bit systems.

Flash forward a few years and...I discover WWF No Mercy. Probably one of the best reasons to have the Nintendo 64 at least for a freshman in college like I was at the time. I played in dorm hall tournaments against classmates and money was wagered. It was a blast. Then I played WrestleMania 2000, WCW vs. The World, WCW/nWo Revenge (which are also the standard bearers for all wrestling games).

Years later, I find out more from THQ. Destroy All Humans. Red Faction. Full Spectrum Warrior. The Warhammer 40K games. Red Faction Guerrilla. Darksiders. Saints Row The Third. Heck, even Homefront was decent. THQ had some quality games.

It's hard to believe that a publisher like THQ is now gone.

I guess I'll play Wayne's World & Saints Row: The Third in memory.

I don't want to taint this thread too much as it's clear they cleaned up their act but during my childhood, THQ was like the seal of death for a game.

They used to make absolute shit! Worst of the worst!

At least they can be proud they went out ontop!

Another one down... if you played a licensed game on SNES or GB, chances are you remember the THQ logo.

My childhood, it cries.

To be honest, there aren't a lot of THQ games I was a huge fan of, though I did like the old Moto GP games they made for the original Xbox.

Still, it is an end of an era. Always hate to see stuff like this happen.

i know, but the initial success of this thing on wii gave them the idea that this could actually work on the HD twins

the PS3360 versions were doomed from the start, this motherfucker gave them a small drop of hope

THQ will be missed.

They published some of my favorite games this generation with Darksiders, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Saint's Row 2 & 3, and so on.

Plus, they also published some of my favorite wrestling games of all time with Day of Reckoning 1 & 2 on the Gamecube.

RIP

Thank you THQ for the N64 wrestling games (World Tour, Revenge, WM2000 and No Mercy). I was in middle school at the time, and each one of those games played a big role in my life. On a system with both Goldeneye and Smash Bros., more time was spent playing multiplayer in these games, which were so well-made and so much fun that even non-wrestling fan friends wanted to play it. So many great moments from my childhood came about from these games, and THQ will always have a place in my heart because of them.

RIP for making some really solid and fun games this gen like RF Guerrilla, Darksiders and SR2 but then going on a streak of making some of the worst games I've played this gen like RF Armageddon, SR3, Space Marine, Homefront and Darksiders 2.

I'll always have my N64 wrestling games and the first few PS1 smackdown games.

RIP THQ

You people were responsible for many great and entertaining games. Sadly, you were responsible for many bad ones as well.

Goodbye THQ. You will always hold a special place in my heart for Red Faction, which was the gateway FPS that lead me to try my hand at mapping and online shooters.

Thanks for Saints Row and all those great WWF games.

Special shout-out to the game that is probably one of the most disliked wrestling games, but the one who made me the wrestling-fan i am today.

Confessions of Wrestling addict- I loved that game. It definitely shaped my childhood, and when the inevitable transition to the marquee N64 games occurred, it was strange to let it go.

I'll miss you THQ.

What will happen to the Red Faction franchise? After Armageddon THQ announced there would be no more RF games. Will another publisher pick it up now?

Based on this thread I can't tell if today is a bad day for the Western video game industry or a bad day for the wrestling industry. o_O

Anyway, I'll continue to wear my de Blob hat with absolute pride. RIP THQ. May your employees find better management.

Thanks for all the cool wrestling games and also for Summoner and Summoner 2 on the PS2. I know I sure played the hell out of the first Summoner game when I got my PS2 way back in the day. It's sad that my copy seems destined to be glitched forever so I can't play it anymore :(
