I am not sure how to interpret your post :) Am I doing anything wrong?

I bought the game and I kinda regret it as there are other games that I am more interested in.

Some members here bought keys from a user and their games were removed from their library by Valve.

I hear Frozen Synapse is well-regarded around here. My only squad-turn-based game experience is XCOM, which I really enjoyed. Should I give it a try?

I really liked it, but it's a little different from xcom in that you decide what your entire squad is going to do for the turn and then set it running. There's no back and forth between the two teams, you all go at once which means you have to do a lot of second guessing as to what your opponent will do. The interface is more than a little confusing so be sure to do the tutorial.

Finished Sleeping Dogs (Main Story + Zodiac Tournament)

It's been said before but Sleeping Dogs is the ultimative love letter Hong Kong action movies like Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow, The Killer etc. and the Zodiac Tournament is basically a homage to Enter the Dragon and Drunken Master. I've played around 26h for both including almost all collectibles and most side-activities and thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.

What I liked:
  • Graphics are incredible for an open-world game and it still runs incredibly smooth. Especially the night scenes with the rain and all the neon are a sight to behold.
  • The story is typical heroic bloodshed crime action drama and it's better for it. Don't expect something that will change your life, it's a crime story about loyalty and betrayal but very well realized. One of the better stories in mainstream games and some excellent voice-acting.
  • Wei is a very likeable character, one moment suave, the other ruthless. They could have explored his inner conflict a bit more and he curses a lot during certain scenes so that might be a turn-off but overall I liked him.
  • For an open-world game the cars control surprisingly well. And even if you don't feel like driving there's a lot of cabs around.
  • Hand-to-hand combat is similar to the Arkham games but I liked it better because you don't jump around the place like you're on speed. Still, they could have done more with it and for a sequel I'd like to have more moves and combos available. The various costumes add a bit of variety though, even if superficial. My personal favourite is the Drunken Master outfit, it's hilarious.
  • Shooting is pretty good as well, yet the cover system is a bit iffy at times. Jumping out of cover in slow-mo is awesome though. Again, for a sequel I'd love them to add shootdodging like in Max Payne. Two scenes (
the shootout in the hospital and the one in the church
) would have been Hong Kong action movie heaven. But still, it's very competent and feels good. Especially during the...
  • Car chases. Oh man. First of all, shooting tires never gets old and as mentioned you never have to fight the controls. Second, jumping out of the car or from a bike to jack another? So satisfying.
  • The game world is very compact and dense, which I prefer. It's very detailed and never feels empty.

What I didn't like:
  • As much as I like the world, they still could have put in more content. There are the fight clubs, the races, the karaoke bar and some repeatable events but overall there's not a lot to do besides the main-story. I'd love to have some varied side-missions next time but for the first game in a new franchise it was acceptable.
  • The girlfriend side-missions were kinda weird. Not that I minded them since you got to see another side of Wei but there wasn't that much of a closure except for one of them. It was weird, they ended as abruptly as they started
  • Nothing else really

Verdict: Buy one for you and several copies for your friends.

Damn, that new Indie Royale bundle sure is tempting. But I also want to buy Runner 2, so I don't know what to do.

Actually, I shouldn't buy anything until I finish a couple of games I already have. So... what should I do?

Omerta sounds pretty neat from the PCG review. I had some concerns over how deep of a TBS it would be compared to Jagged Alliance and XCOM, but it sounds like it has a decent amount of combat complexity to it.

There's something a bit odd-looking about it visually though...almost like it's a Sims game.

Edit: Uh...it's $34 if you buy one copy, but $25.50 if you buy it as part of a 2-pack. That's the biggest relative combo discount I've every seen.

Is anyone still interested in the Microsoft bundle??? I got tons of 5% off coupons, so I'm willing to exchange it for any good game you got. Please PM fast because today is the last day for redeeming it with discount.

Nice update but the server browser is dogshit.

Wont even show me any servers.

A friend has a similar issue, so he ends up joining through me when he wants to play. I remember there being a file you could download to fix it during the beta, but I'm not sure if that fixes it anymore.

Damn it.

I wanted to buy Omerta and Sonic all stars before the deal ends but buying crap on my work laptop is always an issue.

Just didn't think of it last night. Crap.

Antichamber - $14.99 (-25%)

Antichamber is a mind-bending psychological exploration game where nothing can be taken
for granted. Discover an Escher-like world where hallways wrap around upon each other,
spaces reconfigure themselves, and accomplishing the impossible may just be the only way
forward.

Several years in the making, Antichamber received over 25 awards and honors throughout its
development, in major competitions including the Independent Games Festival, the PAX10,
IndieCade and Make Something Unreal. Antichamber was also supported by the Indie Fund.

Anyone else not being able to see the majority of pictures on the community page?
Most pictures appear just as a blank space.

Oh wow, wasn't aware of that. Were they keys from GMG? I thought that keys from GMG would be safe.

Keys from GMG are generally considered safe as they deal directly with publishers.

From my understanding the issue was that it wasn't clear where the users selling the keys were getting the keys from or if they were abusing regional differences for their own profit (which I think would fall under the key reselling sites/regional exploit ban).

Things like splitting 2/4-packs (or selling extra copies left from those) from sites like GMG/GG/Amazon has been a common occurence in Steam threads without anyone raising issues though.

That was my interpretation of the situation anyway, dk_ was going in the way of caution with his warning which is always a sensitive position to take, best thing to do would be to ask a mod about it if there's any doubts.

Here's the posts in question.

Anyone interested in Sonic Racing Transformed for $20? I'm doing a 4-pack when I get home today (around 5:30-6:00 PM EST) and I'll have 2 copies available.

I loves me some non-Euclidean geometry.

How is serving as a middle man not "gray market" material? It's kind of like money laundering in a game economy sense. Somebody buys games cheap in an eastern market Steam store, gifts them to legit customers in the west to clean them up, and then has that person do the selling of the gifts.

I'm skeptical of the second part. Unless we're talking wholesalers from eastern Europe (which goes back to the first point of using a westerner to clean them up).

We already know what DD take. They take a 30 percent cut. 70 percent is the wholesale number. So it seems impossible to think GG is selling them at a loss (or getting some bulk discount that not even Valve gets).

Plus how would the second part even be possible? You can't redeem codes into gifts. These have to be purchased directly unless I'm missing something.

Anyways, sorry for taking it off-topic. Stump seemed to be pretty emphatic about the situation and I should have just stayed out of it.

There are a lot of games floating in the trade markets because they are used as currency to facilitate certain trades. People often trade games for Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 items, or games for other games. I'm sure more than a few people bought Sleeping Dogs for $5 in hopes of trading it for more valuable items down the road.

Now if someone is starting a business trying to resell gifts on Steam, that might be an indication of something shady. If they're just offloading the occasional game, then that doesn't necessarily warrant suspicion.
