I doubt Microsoft will have anything better then Killzone or Watch Dogs or Forza to show for core gamers. Core gamers also doesn't care about Windows 8 or other abilities. So it will be pretty hard for Microsoft to draw them in either way. I see them going for the casuals all way.

Killzone looked great visually. The gameplay looked boring and stale, it won't be difficult to top (pls show AW2).

We differ here. PSN is a joke. A complete and utter joke. XBL is a breeze to find content in by comparison, and doesn't lag like crazy or take a minute to load.

Like it would be hard to show something more compelling than Killzone. Killzone sales aren't exactly setting the world on fire. It looked pretty, but is it going to save a dying franchise? As for Watch Dogs, I expect we'll see it again at Microsoft's show. If Ubisoft loves anything, it's multi-console releases. I agree about the Windows 8 stuff. If they spend a lot of time talking about the OS instead of the features that are running on the OS....Zzzzzzz. If, however, they've come up with great uses for Skype etc, it has the potential to blow Sony's offering away, much like they did at the start of the current gen, and then Sony will spend another generation playing catch-up on features. My personal guess is we'll only hear limited talk of specs and features ala Sony's PS4 launch, maybe they'll show their new controller, glimpses of non-gameplay footage of new IPs, a few surprise moneyhats, discussion about what their new media studio in LA is working on, and a lot of time devoted to non-gaming media apps.

Mark of The Ninja, Crackdown, Shadow Complex and Gears are now bad games? Get out.

Ohhh I get it now.

You're right about it lagging with the fury of ten ancient gods that have not risen every time I am at a friends place the dang thing seems so much slower and thats the honest truth, I've heard vita is super fast though.

P.S. it sucks that a MS event thread is turning into this :-/

lol the only good games in your pic are from the original Xbox. that microsoft is long gone.

Are you saying that the following games aren't any good; Alan Wake, Shadow Complex, Gears of War, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Crackdown, Mark of the Ninja and Castle Crashers?

I beg to differ.

Makes sense...I don't think they will wait for E3 to start talking about the next XBox...they might even trump Sony and actually show the console before E3 and leave the game showcases for E3...

How exactly? Better graphics doesn't matter apparently. Anything shooter like or racing like won't excite anyone because of gameplay. No matter how good Kinect is, core gamers won't care. I don't see what Microsoft could offer in terms of revolutionary gameplay.

Well obviously i am not arguing graphics, since i nor you have seen a single solitary game running on Durango's hardware so it would be pretty impossible to make a graphics comparison now wouldn't it? Gameplay wise Killzone does nothing for me and what i saw at PS Meeting was the same shit but prettier.

When it comes to "revolutionary gameplay" i didn't see that at PS meeting at all, maybe E3. As for Kinect you are basically making assumptions and nothing more, as i have stated over and over again recent hiring by MS, as well as all the New studios they have been opening up, and nothing to suggest they are working solely on Kinect games. It's seeming more like they have a lot more "core" titles in the works, Black Tusk's new game for example. Even Rare and Lionhead are working on multiple new IP's with no mention of Kinect so far.

I think there is more there that suggest a "core" push at the beginning of next gen from MS the same way they did this gen and the one before it.

I seeAlan Wake, Crackdown , Mark of The Ninja and Dust in that pic, so those are bad games now? lol

I beg to differ.

Alan Wake is not xbox exclusive. Dust is not xbox exclusive. Castle Crashers is not xbox exclusive. Crackdown was mediocre, and I don't really like gears of war. Haven't played mark of the ninja due to being put off by the art style.

Shadow Complex was pretty good, but one short downloadable title that won't be receiving a sequel is not enough to get me super excited about the next xbox.

They were all exclusives when they launched pretty much and I expect many of the follow ups will be as well. Definitely AW.

We differ in that you constantly make ridiculous exaggerations to the point you can't be taken seriously.

Prediction: MS showcases nex-gen Call of Duty and wins the console race by default because every boy between 10-15 thinks CoD is the best thing since sliced bread. Count on it.

Larry Hyrb isn't usually bitter about stuff. He is pretty open to respecting other console manufactures.

Exclusives are the core of a product, but getting content first is also important. While the Xbox 360 slacked on original exclusive content in its later years, it received a lot of highly rated content first and it worked out well for them.

A Battlefield, Call of Duty, or a new Halo game would top Killzone. It's a great franchise, but I wouldn't put it alongside the top dogs in shooters right now like you imply.

Yep. He talks about the huge PS3 games when they hit and how he enjoyed them, and he even complimented the free games deal for PS+.

I don't know about you but PlayStation Store takes a few seconds before it start for me. Xbox Marketplace opens instantly.

And just the fact that PlayStation Store is an external app bothers me.

psn is not better then live.

It have better games to download with psone and a handful of ps2 games (ff12 please). but madden, cod, and just about every online counter part between the two consoles are god tier on live.

Except Battlefield, the rest of what you mentioned is pretty meh. MS needs to show an exclusive like Halo.

PS Meeting.
Yeah, that I understand. I took it as "I'll share my thoughts on the show this weekend" being him referring to an actual show (like the podcast) in which he would share his thoughts on PlayStation Meeting. Twitter's kinda small for any greater discussion so I assume either a podcast or an article is where he will talk about his opinion about Sony's event.

Taking a few seconds to open does not make a store a complete joke. I recently bought God Hand and it was simple, quick and painless.

The internet also has plenty of complaints about Xbox Live marketplace slowness.

Things like Bioshock, ES, and Dead Rising were great for the 360 early on. Part of that was just being first on the block, but MS made some great deals early on. GTA content was big early on as well. Fallout comes to mind as well.

They don't have that launch window advantage this time and I feel we are dealing with a much different Xbox team, but it will be interesting to see what they can lock down this round.

MS and Sony are gonna be like two divorced parents, fighting for our love. MS, if you open with Kinect, I'm gonna be staying with Sony for a while.
I can't wait to see what they have to show.

That is a goddamn perfect simile right there.

Uncle Neogaf: “Will, it’s alright to be angry at the Next Xbox.”

Will: “Hey, why should I be mad? I’m saying, at least he gave hardcores some lip service this time. I just wish I hadn’t wasted my money buying this stupid present.”

Uncle Neogaf: “I’m sorry, I, you know, Kinect 2.0, no used games, if there was… something that I could do–”

OMVH

Will: “Hey, you know what? You ain’t got to do nothing, Uncle Neogaf. Hey, you know? Ain’t like I’m still five-years old, you know? Ain’t like I’m going to be sitting up every night, playing Halo, asking my Mom, ‘When’s the next Xbox coming home?’ You know? Who needs Xbox? Hey, he wasn’t there to teach me how to shoot my first headshot, but I learned, didn’t I? Hey I got pretty damned good at it too, didn’t I Uncle Neogaf?”

Uncle Neogaf: “Yeah, you did.”

Will: “Got through my first platformer without him, right? I learned how to drive, I learned how to spend skill points, I learned how to fight without him. I had FIVE great console generations without him! He never even sent me a damn Xbox Live Points card–TO HELL WITH HIM!”

[Pause]

Will: “I didn’t need him them and I don’t need him now.”

Uncle Neogaf: “Will…”

Will: “Nah, you know what Uncle Neogaf? I’m gonna get through Next Gen without him. I’m gonna get in great Driveclub without him. I’m gonna start my own videogame company, and I’m making me a whole bunch of consoles, I’m gonna be a better console maker than he ever was, and I sure as hell don’t need him for that, ’cause there ain’t a damn thing he could ever teach me about how to love my games!”

[Pause]

Will: “How come he don’t want me, man?”

Both stores are good, live is better.

After watching the Killzone Shadow Fall trailer for the 20th time, yes I do agree the gameplay looks stale. There's nothing groundbreaking or unique gameplay wise.

What I'd like to see is Deus Ex Human Revolution 2. That, to me, felt like something new and revolutionary FPS. It's hard to explain but the cohesive world that Eidos built was so fresh.
