I'm no Emma Stone Stan, but you guys.

Dunst was an amazing MJ in the first Spider-Man film. And by amazing, I mean perky. And by perky, I mean that amazing scene in the rain.

We should have gotten Mary Elizabeth Winstead:

I'm just not feeling the new Mary Jane, Harry Osborn or the casting for Electro and Rhino. =/

The biggest thing I hated about The Amazing Spider-Man is finally fixed - and I even ended up eating my words with how much I ended up liking the movie itself more than I ever though I would!

The suit really looks perfect now, especially the eyes - shit, they really nailed the eyes. I'm hyped for this movie now.

well, at least the costume will look good!

:(

Paul Giamatti as Rhino might be fucking hilarious though.

this movie might be 'so bad its good' and it will be the funniest movie of the year.

Well, I have hope for this movie. The Amazing Spider-Man is 2nd on my list of 2012 just behind Skyfall. I love Marc Webb's Spidey and I can't wait for this one.

She looks 15 in some of those shots. I guess it makes sense since Pete's still in high school.

Man, I'm not going to lie. I can't stand this highschool shit anymore. I'm really hoping he's in university like he was in Spider-Man 2. Hell, he was out of highschool half way through Raimi's first Spider-Man film which was a great decision.

The awkward teen shit was alright in TAS but I expect mature relationships in the sequel. Raimi nailed it in 2004.

did Trouble get better? I enjoyed what I read for what it was, but I dropped it

It lasted a total of 5 issues. It was a fun miniseries that rubbed nerds the wrong way because it implied that May was in fact Peter's mother and not aunt. It wasn't part of Spidey's continuity, and it was basically Millar having some fun.

She looks really good here.
Also Winestead was lame in Scott Pilgrim.

Yep. She looks great.

Honestly grown ass Spiderman is better than teen Spidey any day.
It's a shame that Jason Segel is built like a bigfoot, I think he would be awesome as Spidey.

I just think it's disturbing how "Girl who has slightly bigger nose or whatever" equates to people putting up .gifs of people throwing up. If, unlike Dunst, she can act her way out of a paper bag, who cares?

A gaming forum is full of shallow asshole posters. Surprise.

Doesn't mean I can't decry it. Claiming she's not as attractive as Emma Stone is irrelevant, it's not like Spidey's going to have the choice between them come the end of the trilogy..

MJ's Progression in Raimi Films

1 - Preppy popular bitch who ignores the protagonist for half the film, fucks his best friend, but it's okay because she wants to be an actress. Gets hilariously turned down for coming onto someone at a funeral
2 - Gets engaged to some random guy, resents Peter for not wanting to make out at a funeral. Leaves him at the altar because she just loves a man in spandex
3 - Realizes the unattractive whiny guy she has spent the last two movies pining over is an unattractive and whiny guy. Bitches him out for trying to relate to her, gets punched in the face and suspended from a taxi cab. Realizes she needs to make a visit to eHarmony.

Wow, some horribly judgmental people.
Probably just people actually thinking it's her on set/shooting a scene and looking like that, haha.

Pretty sure this movie starts off with them graduating from HS. Or at least they're out of HS somewhere in this one.

He meets Harry (Dane DeHaan), who's apparently his old time childhood friend or something. Which is weird, but makes a lot of sense. Harry's dad is Osborn, who Peter's dad worked for/with when they were kids. Should be interesting.

What I like about that is it's a carbon copy of one of the best story arcs in Ult. SM (venom origins) but replacing Bock who's his chldhoodfriend/dads worked together, with Harry. And instead of the two guys working together on the venom suit (cures cancer etc) in ASM it's them working on cross-species genetics and whatnot (to cure Osborn). If they play it smart, it could be great.

Yeah, it's not like they won't cake Stone (and Garfield) in a 2 inch layer of makeup. The whole point of Spiderman is that he's a teenager. The whole "IMA PROPOSE TO MJ" thing was a really adult storyline wasn't it? Ohnowait he cried like a little bitch.

No thanks. That terrible sitcom she's in has forever skewed my opinion of her. Why not have this guy play Eddie Brock

We are talking about The Amazing Spiderman 2 aren't we?

Plus, she'll earn her chops when the Evil Dead remake comes out. Sounds like she was put through hell in that role.

High school Peter is worst Peter. I never got that complaints that he was a douche in the movie because that is exactly how he acted in the comics when he was still in high school. An entitled spoiled brat. It wasn't until he began college that he actually became a likable character. If the new movie can actually show him growing out of that phase and make him start to act like the adult Peter does then I don't see the problem.

And I'm pretty disappointed in the casting of Mary Jane, they've already made Emma play Gwen like she is MJ so I can only imagine we get boring Mary Jane once again. God Raimi's trilogy really messed up Peter and MJ.

Peter is still in high school? Garfield already looked his age in ASM1, he's gonna be in his thirties when this movie comes out. :lol

Still wondering who Felicity Jones will be playing. Rumors are black cat, but I don't buy it. Probably just Betty Brant (the brown haired Daily Bugle receptionist) since they'll supposedly be bringing up the bugle in this one (though without JJ, I don't know how).

Then there's also Colm Feore, who'll probably be playing Osborn which is a perfect fit imo.

I wouldn't have had any issues with Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen and Stone as MJ. And Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Goblin with Andrew Garfield as Spidey and anyone in the fucking universe and perhaps including some inanimate objects over Topher Grace for Brock. And have it be in the mainsteam MCU so that Spider-Man could irritate Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson while earning steadfast admiriation from Robert Downey Jr. and doing sciencey things with him and Mark Ruffalo.

And do the symbiote costume again but have it look way more like this
aliencostume2.jpg

And have Spider-Man legitimately almost killing a legitimately evil supervillain wearing it and smashing Jameson's desk in half. And no spontaneous dancing

Basically these movies will forever represent a mishmash of things which I always wanted to see happen with things I never wanted to see happen ever in a million years along with a bunch of things which will never happen at all and never shall they be reconciled!

But oh well it'll still be fun. :)

NOOO I wanted the Ultimate Venom storyline to include fucking Venom >:(

I think Andrew could be a good fit for the MCU. And I agree that it looks ridiculous with them trying to pass him off as a teenager, he's the same age as Chris Hemsworth.

How so? Not remotely imo.

By ASM4 he'll be an 'adult' and by ASM6 he'll probably be teaching algebra at a high school. :lol

Well she's certainly not playing comic book Gwen that's for sure. Mary Jane is supposed to be this spunky, fun character on the surface with her own demons that she's not showing anyone. And she's probably one of the few characters that really gets Peter and why he does the things hes do. Sounds like Emma's Gwen to me. It's not a carbon copy of course but there is more MJ than Gwen in the character that she plays.
