I'm all caught up now. I loved the way it ended with Hank finding the book just as Walt finally gets out of the Meth game.

I already explained my thoughts on Season 1 to 4 a couple weeks back in this thread. At that time, I was still Team Walt. The first 4 seasons Walt was more of a grey character rather than the white / black character some here like to make him out to be. He definitely did a lot of bad shit but I always felt he had a good reason to do it like saving Jesse or himself and his family.

Now with Season 5, the show went a lot further than it did in the past to say outright that "Walt is evil" and there was a lot less of the grey area that it had in the past. There was no way anyone could argue that what Walt was doing was for anyone but himself after he had the chance to get the 5 mil and get out. There was also the killing of Mike when he didn't have to but it wasn't like Mike tried to kill Walt many times so I wasn't too upset about that even though Mike was awesome.

In the end, I'm still Team Walt but only because the last episode has Walt redeem himself. I don't know if it was because he had enough, or if the cancer is back, but you could tell he wasn't in it the Meth game anymore and he got out when Sky asked him to so they could have their kids back. He also made things whole with Jesse (glad Jesse is still alive as he is my favorite character).

I can't wait until the last 8 and see how Hank handles things. We know from the season premiere that Walt's life is flipped upside down, so it is going to be great seeing how it plays out!

I have just finished all of the episodes and it is up there as one of my favourite all time shows. I think the progression of the storyline is excellent, especially
the inevitable point where Hank figures out W.W. is actually Walt. I had my feelings the show would end up at that point because it seemed like the best natural progression for the story to head in, for its final season.
I also like the transformation Walt undergoes during the series, because he has turned into quite an asshole lol

It seems that the UK is eventually getting a bluray release for all 4 seasons. Sainsbury's has the release date as the 3rd of June.

Let's hope it comes out in other places in the EU as well then. In Holland we only have S1 and S2.

We are on the third season now on TV so I guess it will happen.

Just caught up through Season 5. I really do think this is one of the best shows. For me, Season 4 was the best. Those last four episodes, Salud, Crawl Space, End Times, and Face Off were some of the most intense moments I've ever seen. Season 5.1 was alright, nowhere near the level of the 2-4, although it had some pretty great moments,
the train robbery, Todd shooting that kid, Hank getting the laptop, and him in the finale piecing together the W.W. reference.

Todd shooting the kid was such an awkward moment. Oh and Jesse screaming about magnets is a thing I'll never forget :lol

Oh and a tip to you, when it's aired you don't have to spoiler tag it. Only exception to this rule is stuff from episode previews ;)

Oh, gotcha'! Thanks man--haven't posted in a show thread on Gaf before. Hahahah yeah Jesse's newfound love for magnets was fantastic.

S3 and S4 were so similar they might as well have been the same season.

S2 had Grilled, Down, Peekaboo, Better Call Saul, 4 Days Out and Phoenix. The show has never been as good, in my opinion

The season introduced Saul, Gus, Mike and Hector for christsakes.

That doesn't matter when Gus, Mike, and Hector are all utilized better in further seasons. Gus is barely in season 2.

so is it basically hopeless to think walt will live?

Even if he lives he won't have any kind of life. Wife hates him, family and friends will distance themselves after the news of him dealing meth gets out, and someone will always want him dead.

He will if this was all a drem and he wakes up the day after his birthday from S1, tells Skylar he loves her, then winks at the camera.

That would still be better than Lost S5

This last run is going to be legendary. Nobody is safe. I just hope they don't kill Saul.

correct me if im wrong (which is likely, lol), but didnt vince say he was interested in a saul goodman spin off?

also, i'd rather have walter live, and have him live with the consequences of the choices he's made.....

I'm assuming most of the characters die except Walt, at least until the final scene. He has to live to suffer. If they start killing people, I'm calling Walt jr. as the first to die.

Walt won't die and Jesse will be the only person left that will take care of him unbeknownst of the horrible things he has done to him.

I want everyone’s life to either be shit or be dead and for Walt to realize he was the cause of all of it. This is what I'm expecting for this final half. Walt can only die when he has realized.

I know it won't happen, but it wouldn't upset me seeing Skyler gone. Or Todd. I will need to seek therapy if Hank or Walt Jr. dies.

I really hate Walt for killing Mike. Right when it happened, I thought "I want Walt dead now." Then he got out of cooking and everyone was happy and I liked him again. Such a roller coaster of emotions with this show.

To me, the show have developed strong Michael Corleone vibes with Walt. I don't think he dies until he is terribly alone and has been responsible for ruining or killing everyone around him. Then, maybe he can die.

I'm perfectly willing to allow people to discover the BB->Malcolm theory for the first time but I think leniency there means I should be plenty allowed to be pretty goddamn tired of the joke when seeing it for the millionth time
