Getting a little better now... slowly but surely. I can't do ATVs without handling maxed out, though.
Leaderboard is up to 39 people now. I'm down to #7, not as bad a drop as I thought. "Malachite" has displaced Jools as #1 even though he only has 6 races and Jools has 107!
Jools said if you beat someone higher rank, you get more points. So if you race against only high-ranking players you'll be at the top in no time.
The demo of this game is worth $8 by itself.all I want is this in 3D on a handheld
Sounds pretty bad, actually. Are they still judging games by watching a short compilation video?
I'm hosting a match right now if anyone's up for a race!
YessirFor anyone?
Yessir
Heh, I must be good at the game or something because I beat the 3rd tour last night after about an hour with the game.Woot, beat Tour 3!
Is it considered cheating to farm points in Freestyle by going back and forth over the same set of pointable hills?
Will be hosting in the next 3 minutes.
I hate the Canada course with an intense passion.
Just played 5 games online with Jools. He whupped my ass...
Every single race.
Lost to Hale-Bopp who's #4 and has played the second most races at 82. I'm up to 8, myself!
Longer tracks give you more rope to hang yourself with, at least in my case. I can take the lead early on but I can rarely hold on to it.
To me that means I'm not getting enough Nitro to keep up.
True enough. This game is ruthless in that regard. It makes track memorization all the more vital to winning.
The 1998-style graphics together with the pumping soundtrack creates some bizarre nostalgic feelings... It's almost charming, in a strange way.

Q2 for Europe according to Jools on twitter. Can't wait.
I doubt it. I'm also getting in the habit of not letting the lobby stay open after just one person shows up. I left it open after someone had joined up and thirty seconds later they were gone. Is it so much to want more than two human racers?
Would anyone be up for a little GAF tourney? I need some practice before PAX.
Maybe tomorrow. Not really feeling up for much gaming tonight.
It would be in a few days to give people time to prepare/sign up.
Cool! I'll see if I can get Jools to sign up too.
Yeah! Also, think of this: ATV 3D is Renegade Kid's first online game. I hope that means their eShop FPS is also online, if the genre is compatible with it. That could be amazing.
Argh, two weeks left until they show what it is... can't wait! D:
I thought Jools said their FPS was going to be strictly single player.
RENEGADE KID FRICKING RULES
I love how the digital model is basically perfect for them. It always felt like they were trying to find their footing in the DS era, I mean they did try making a Wii game but it was cancelled. But their 3DS FPS will be their fourth release on the 3DS eShop, and they have two games in the work for the Wii U's eShop as well. That's not even counting the PC releases of Mutant Mudds and Dementium 2, or the iOS release of MM either.
Digital + RK = BFFs!

Oh well, it's still a FPS on a console that sorely needs one.

Wasn't Planet Crashers by them too, only it was published by a different company? Renegade Kid has reached around the same status as Shin'en for me.

All their retail titles are by several different publishers.
Dementium = Gamecock (absorbed by SouthPeak)
Moon = Mastiff (pretty sure they undershipped, also did crap job of marketing)
Dementium 2 = SouthPeak (jerked the release date around a lot, undershipped)
ATV Wild Ride = Destineer (SEVERELY undershipped)
Face Racers = Majesco
Planet Crashers = Ignition
Planet Crashers may wind up being their last retail release, at least until they build a bigger rep and have more leverage. As of right now the pubs hold all the power.
