^I still can't decide!
Well you might want to get something completely new, so Ys. I never played it though.

Then again Tactics Ogre is probably the best game on PSP and you should definitely own it, if you liked it back then. How far into it were you?

I dropped Trails in the sky after 10 hours or so because I found it boring, but that's just me. Everyone else seemed to love it.

EDIT TOP OF THE PAGE BLAHBLAH: force your friends to buy a Vita or gift them lots yourselves!

I'd post my 50$ promotion spending, but I'm afraid to show you guys just how much I spent on DOA5 DLC. It's shocking to go through my transaction history.

So what ever happened to the vita presentation that was supposed to happen during GDC.

"Developing Vita games in your underwear"
I think that's what it was called.

Any news come out of this?

Just bought Peace Walker for the vita and I must say I'm really enjoying it. Never played before. Controls are nicer and better with dual analogue.

I did download MGS HD Collection but the controls started pissing me off. Plus I got a little annoyed that I couldn't transfer my save from PS3 without loosing the trophies :( Had to start all over again.

Does anyone know transfer Peace walker will unlock trophies for the PS3 version?

Persona 4 is soo good! I haven't finished an RPG let alone a game for a while now due to time constraints and lack of interest but this game I put in 60 hours and I want to do it all over again.

Yes, it will unlock the story ones and such.
But I think you have to do any non-story type ones a second time.

it's odd... I had lots of down time while I was at home and the only thing I used my vita for was to watch scrubs to go to sleep to lol.

Can't believed I missed these yesterday. Makes me so happy. Looking forward to the Vitadawgs and cats 'server'.

Props to 505 for giving the people what they want :)

when will we find out about the vita u think?

Things could be going better for Nintendo. They announced some cool indie initiatives that may have fallen upon deaf ears...

Anyways, here's a write up of one of the Vita panels:

Today at GDC there was a panel dedicated to the Vita hosted not by Sony, but veteran Vita developers. Bobby King (The Pinball Arcade), Richard Hogg (Frobisher Says), Brian Provinciano (Retro City Rampage), and Drinkbox’s Chris Harvey (Guacamelee, Tales From Space: Mutant Blob Attacks) all talked about their experience working with Sony and the Vita on a panel moderated by Gaijin Games' Alex Neuse, whose Runner2 is making its way to Vita.

The overwhelming opinion was that it’s a great idea for smaller scale developers to work with the system, for a variety of reasons, one of which is that the market isn’t as saturated as iOS and Android app stores. Additionally, it’s easy to work with. Provinciano had his port of Retro City Rampage playable in a single day, while Frobisher Says took eight months to make, from receiving development kits to submitting a final build. Hogg noted that “as a programmer, it [developing for the Nintendo DS] was one of the most miserable periods of my life,” while working on the Vita has been the opposite. One helpful inclusion is access to Sony’s developer support team, members of which the team included in Frobisher’s credits because of their tireless, prompt assistance with getting the game made.

When Neuse asked if the developers plan to put their next games on Vita, all four nodded immediately, replying emphatically in the positive. In fact, King confirmed that FarSight Studios is working on an unannounced new IP for the Vita, an action puzzle game. So, more games are coming. That was evident earlier in the week when Sony was showing off both rad ports (Spelunky, Hot Line Miami) and a bunch of great, new stuff like Luftrausers, Dragon Fantasy: Book II, the aforementioned Guacamelee, and more. I pretty much wanted every game they were showing off for the Vita. The common cross buy option makes them even more enticing.

Provinciano likened iOS development to "throwing the dice" -- especially for new developers -- because of how randomly certain games go viral while other great games toil away under low sales numbers. Hogg added, “At this point, we pretty much gave up working on iOS games." King, whose Pinball Arcade supports about 20 different Android devices, loved being able to develop for the Vita's consistent specs and bang out a stalwart 60 frames per second.

A lot of other praise was lavished unto Sony, as well as a suggestion or two for improvement.

Cross buy (buying once to get Vita and PS3 versions of a game) is a huge sales influence. King noted that 67% of Pinball Arcade owners were influenced by cross buy promotion. Meanwhile, Provinciano disclosed that about 85% of Retro City Rampage players crossed the 500k points threshold on Vita, while only around 25% of PC players did so. Speaking of the Vita's capabilities, Provinciano added "there’s no pressure to add any of these frills if they don’t make sense," yet displayed an interest in using things like touch screen more in future work.

The overwhelming issue with developing for Sony is one of territories. After testing and certification is finished for the territory you have been working with, another bout of similar operating procedures need to occur in other territories in which releases are planned. It's a minor issue in light of how good these guys' experiences seem to have been, but anything to alleviate undue strain is a good thing.

One of the thing's Hogg said that struck me most is this: "Most of the guys at Sony are pretty well integrated into the indie community. It doesn’t feel like an 'Ugh, I have to go sell my game to the publisher' relationship." With the aforementioned focus on smaller scale development -- Jonathan Blow working on The Witness for PS4 was something Sony chose expressly to highlight in the console's reveal -- Sony just seems to get it. Barriers to entry are lowering and Sony is looking like a real friend to indie developers just as iOS/Android and Steam seem a bit more disinterested (those services only do so much to promote smaller games). And of course few small developers seem to want to work with Microsoft anymore.

i couldn't bring myself to rebuy terraria on the ps3, but I likely will buy it on the vita as it will be nice to be able to suspend it and play in short bursts.

So I'm a masochist (not really) and decided to boot up LBX W again. Another 500MB patch? Level-5 you spoil me!

Thread-worthy? Could at least give mobile vs. traditional camps another venue to discuss.

Apple, and Google didn't get into the video game industry on purpose. They stumbled upon it. As such they don't really have a wealth of resources to ensure those on their platforms get help if they need it.

OUCH. What was that for? Getting indie devs on Wii U?

Miiverse implementation panel.

? Was just wondering whether or not the interview/info was worth a new thred.

Anyway booted up Disgaea 3 and dang does it look nice. The smooth sprites option isn't a big difference, but when you zoom out on the battlefield it looks much nicer, if they port D4 it'l look even better. Gameplay feels much more convenient than booting up my PS3 and it's nice to find all the little differences too like the new moves.

I've been playing Plants Vs Zombies believe it or not. Really fun game right there trying to juggle your setups

I think Patapon is starting to wear down its welcome... Its getting kinda reptetitive and grindy, Im playing these 7-10 minute levels only to barely recieve any "kaching" to power up my units. Work for half an hour only to make a couple inches of progress....

I really need a bigger card so I can capitalize on more gametime at once.

BTW: Can anybody pass Threes Landing Point in CoD:Declassified? The stage is whooping my ass and Im only on Hardened :0

I need a good game to get out of my massive gaming slump. Haven't been able to get into any games since beating Persona 4 Golden in December. It was just so good that I haven't been able to enjoy other games as much. Any suggestions?

So after changing my mind half a hundred times, I think there's no denying I'll buy one of these before spring ends. All the recent announcements pushed me over the edge. Just one question: how does playing japanese games work? Can I just pop in a physical copy with no hassle? And if I want to buy japan only psp games, can I download them, or is that part region locked?

The console is region free so yes if you import a physical copy it will play just fine on a Euro/US Vita. However digital content such as JP PSN PSP games and DLC will need a JP PSN to download and you'll need either another memory card for your JP or format your current one whenever you want to switch accounts as a memory card can only have one at once.

What WORLDTree said, plus, if you will be downloading any updates/patches or DLC for a Japanese physical cart on your "US account" memory card then I don't think it will work.

I'm not the expert on this (others on this thread are) but I did want to add that one point...

This is probably going to be a stupid ass post and if it is ignore. As stated recently I purchased my vita and have PSN+ and apart from the instant collection and Persona Golden and the two PSP GOW games I don't have anything else.

Was wondering what's the must have titles available on PSN? Was thinking of picking up MGS1 and playing all three since I haven't done so. Was also thinking of getting sound shapes. Are there any must have titles I should look out for? Any on offer in particular? I'm from the UK but that shouldn't matter too much I think! Thanks!

Thread just popped up on the front page here linking to a Joystiq article about Hotline Miami 2. They're pushing for same date release on Vita and PC.

Nice! Both Hotline Miami 1 and 2 will be day one on Vita for me. It's interesting they don't mention HM2 for PS3 though, maybe they're expecting it to be done by the time PS4 is out.

Hoping they can nail the soundtrack again; that's almost as important as the gameplay.

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (Drink Boxes game prior to upcoming Guacamelee), Lumines is amazing, Hot Shots Golf, I'm getting DJ Max Technicka Tune as soon as I get my $40 PSN credit for spending this month. DOKURO for sure. There's a lot of games there. If you're looking for a deep RPG, Atalier Totori Plus (can't vouch for this, I bought but haven't really gotten into the meat of it yet).
