With no Japanese knowledge and a FAQ at my side I cleared the Saturn version at around 45 hours.

Keep in mind the 3DS version has more content, though.

Optional dungeons mostly. One huge quest pertains to an NPC, I think, and the Raidou stuff is brand new.


And the 3DS version has software(in-game mods) that let you make the game easier.

There's like a small handful of extra bosses tacked on to a pre-existing bonus dungeon.

Keep in mind the 3DS version has more content, though.

It's maybe about an hour of new content (length-wise, the new bonus boss takes forever), but you'll absolutely need maxed-out demons to attempt it, which may require grinding for MAG (even if you use the compendium to acquire Mitamas*). It's cool stuff though! Well worth seeing for fans.

I never fused Saki Mitamas because they require Salamanders and Salamanders can only be made from Heralds and Avatars and like I'm going to waste even more time collecting fusion components for Light demons.

Meltdowns of that type rarely come from people who are fans of the genre/series or even those who actually planned on buying the game.

DQ IX on DS thread or especially the Monster Hunter Tri thread for great examples.

Still I find it odd that Atlus hasn't even tried a Persona port on any Nintendo system yet, though I guess besides a fairly direct P1 port on the DS this was the first gen that would be feasible.

It's funny cause I played all FES and didn't like it that much, then played P3P and loved it(Female MC, everything was faster, and control of my fucking party)

It's pretty much universally agreed the gameplay advancements are great. The cuts to the presentation are biting though. Persona relies on it's art direction mostly and the presentation is pretty minimalistic for such a plot-focused game, but that's just it - it's minimalistic. Cut any more off of what's there and you feel it. And you feel it in P3P.

And, done. I'm a little sketch about the $50 price tag, but it's still less than what I've paid for games in the past, and I'm almost assuredly going to get more out of it. Atlus has been bringing some serious A-game lately.

I've been wondering, do you think Atlus will or should do Strange Journey 3D? They ported both Devil Survivors and SJ is the only other SMT game not ported.

Polish the 3D graphics at at least Soul Hackers 3DS levels, use high-res art and whatnot of course, then you're good!

Given the Persona platform history, I think we are all expecting P5 to be on a Sony platform. It's FAR more likely there will be meltdowns if P5 is announced and is not exclusive to a Sony platform. (even more so in meltdowns if exclusive to Nintendo)

Importing from VGP should be okay (I used Amazon, but they don't sell the 3DS anymore). If you set your 3DS region to Canada you can use your credit card on the eShop.

Yes. Just make sure you set your region to USA and you're good to go. Just remember to set a zip code that doesn't have sales tax - otherwise you would need a bit more than $50.
