supporter and I actually think it's obvious, so I'll give my two cents.
- Notice how the laces animated? They are all

type. It allows Sylveon to be a pure type without going for a half unlike most

To me, the laces look exactly like that. Cute laces. Not kite strings? At least not on it. They are admittedly similar to Drifblim's appendages, but he at least looks 100% like a blimp, which is much more than can be said about Sylveon.
Shaymin has wings coming out of either side of his head. I'd say every other Flying type except Gyarados, the Jumpluff family, Mantine and Tropius all have very tell-tale signs that they are flying. There's nothing flying about a bowtie.
Tornadus makes sense because his Therian form is a bird. All the Tennin connection says is that they are heavenly beings, angles or fairies. It's not unusual for any of those to also fly, but pure flying? That's stretching it.
Flareon literally looks like a fireball. It's one of the most obvious ones.
Glaceon, apart from being ice blue, has diamond/crystal designs all over it.
Espeon, is both purple (psychic), alien looking and has a "third eye".
Their names totally give the game away anyway. Sylveon has none of the usual typing characteristics.

I like Sylveon, but would be really REALLY sad if it's the flying type eeveelution. I would much rather the normal-type/female thing be true. Sylveon looks either normal type or a new type.
And every other evolution has definitely had some clues on them indicating their type. And even if they're not blatantly obvious, they don't look so far away from their type that people went/would go "WHAT! That's PSYCHIC type?!!?" to Espeon or something. Plus their names easily indicated their type (while Sylveon's is fairly difficult to pinpoint to one type >_>).

I find Eevee Evolutions to be painfully boring, so it's nice to have one that's fairly interesting.

I spoilered because people may find it weird, but fine
- Laces: I'd say it's similar to how Vaporeon has that circular frill, like it's just there to denote its typing more than anything else, and it seems kite laces are something of that.
- Wings: I'd say Sylveon's ears and laces do that, not the ribbon. Seems like the ribbons are just there for designs to complement the laces but not the focus itself. The ears do resemble the stylized "simple" wings. And then there's how the laces move as though it flutters.
- Tornadus makes sense regardless of the therian form though, because they're based off from spirits (in this case gods Fuujin), much like the Tennin. That's why the other Kami are part Flying too. And I was going for the "heaven" aspect being denoted as wind in most Japanese fiction (like say, Shinkenger's ShinkenPink is Heaven but uses wind).
- I dunno, I thought Flareon was a poofy Eevee.
I'd say Glaceon's most prominent design is the OMG IT HAS HAIRDO WHY WHY WHY. And like I said, I could argue Espeon isn't too obvious because it relies on color, but then it has the gem. I'd say Vaporeon is sorta like that too since it looks more of a dragon than anything, but it's mostly shown to be partially water so there you have it. Most of the time you have to rely on their names.And even then there's Umbreon - it's the only dark type Pokemon who isn't "evil"
I was mostly going for the looks. You wouldn't see them in certain eeveelutions without referring to names.

Honestly, I would have never thought it was an Eevee evolution.
Plain is not the word I would use.
I really think with Slyveon we're looking at a new type. To be honest though I really assumed it was Normal-type upon first glance.
Also X/Y can't come out soon enough. This is the only game that will make me pick up my OG 3DS again, hand cramps would be worth it.

They have introduced new evolution methods for Eevee everytime a new one is released, keeps the continuity. How would they explain why I can't evolve Eevee in gen 1, 2, or 3 with a leaf stone to Leafeon but then in Gen 4 I suddenly would be able to?
Plain as in no type-defining feature. It's pink, has some butterfly ties and some ribbons. Nothing that you would associate with a specific type. It is most likely some kind of flower or meadow nymph (because of the Japanese/French name).
Would have to do it in a special meadow similiar to Leafeon and Glaceon.
You know what Nyko was making the fucking perfect circle pad pro that probably would have helped with the 3DS' ergonomics.
It really sucks it got canceled. You are right though I should look into grips, and I don't think I can hold back on Fire Emblem for much longer. . .

Well you can always go for Hierophant, Platinum, Magician, Chariot, The World, Hermit, etc.
Seriously this bugged me so much while reading JoJo. Does Persona borrow from JoJo or vice-versa? Because there are some striking similarities and to be honest I don't know how long these Megami Tensei games have been around.

Not at all. Notice how I pretty much don't mind "I like x more" posts? It's when people say shit like "only gen 1 and 2 suckas", posts like "statistically speaking x gen is the best" even though they pulled it out from their asses as though what they say is fact, and those poorly drawn macro images that try to prove their opinions are fact, are the ones that rustle my jimmies.

has anyone considered slyveon to be a poison type? my friend told me that there is this poisonous ivy called Toxicodendron sylvestre and it's indigenous to Asia and apparently it can have pinkish type leaves (outlandish but i think it could also be a possiblity since most of the eevee evolutions have a weakness to one another the exceptions being umbreon and jolteon (not by moves they learn by typing)

also as for mewtwos new form i actually quite like it i think the reason why it might have gone the way it did was because of its mew dna (i think i recall hearing that mewtwo's mew dna was mixed in with a humans?) and i think this form is pretty much the over dominance of the mew dna (hence why i assume like so many others the berserk gene might play a role here as well as why mewtwo reverts to a smaller more mew like form.
