I have this creepy tale gaf, sometimes when this thread is bumped to the first page, I lost the sense of time and can't stop reading untill I reach the last page, keep the tales comming because this last 3 pages where great

A few years ago I was still living at my parents house. I'd gotten a new job after the above mentioned warehouse job and was working in a retail shop near my mums uncle. He was a really great guy- very friendly and always helping out. He had cancer but managed to go into remission. About a year or so after that the cancer came back and this time it was going to end his life. We all knew it was coming but we had no idea when he'd die or how quickly it was going to take him from us. The night he died we were unaware he had passed. For some reason I had a pretty close bond to him in the time I got this new job (about 3 years).
The night he passed and at almost the exact time he died I had the urge to get up to grab a drink from a real deep sleep. I got up, went to the toilet and washed my hands and face. As I went to the bathroom I heard someone calling my name quite clearly. I turned and for a second I saw my mums uncle. He walked by with a cigarette in his hand and his trademark smile!
I wasn't scared at all amazingly!
That morning when we woke we heard the news he'd died early that morning. Almost the exact time I saw him.

About 10 or so years ago I was house sitting for my parents while they were away on holiday. I was sitting in the lounge watching TV one night when I saw what I thought was a large dog out there in the darkness, sniffing around the lawn. The garden is fully fenced in and has a tall locked gate, but I figured it had maybe jumped over and couldn't get out. I got up and went to the patio doors to hopefully scare it away, flicking on the outside light as I did so. However, I soon realised it wasn't a dog. It was a pig. A very big, very black pig. I couldn't understand how the hell a pig had got into the garden, as the fence is about six feet tall, but still found it rather funny. Bizarre, yet funny. I banged on the glass to get its attention and it raised its head and just looked at me. The light reflected in its eyes was a little spooky, but the utter weirdness of the situation just cracked me up. I needed a photo of this pig otherwise I knew nobody would believe me, so went to get my shitty old Nokia from the hall. Of course, when I got back after only a few seconds, the fucking pig had moved and I could no longer see it. I grabbed a torch and went out the back door, figuring the pig had gone around the side of the house, but could find no sign of it. What I did find, however, was a smouldering cigarette butt on the grass roughly where I'd last seen the pig. I checked the gate and it was still locked from the inside, and the fence was undamaged. I would fucking LOVE to know what the hell happened that night. There was no way on earth a man with a pig could have got out of that garden without being airlifted out. And how the fuck did the pig get in there in the first place?

A skinwalker? Do you live near any indian reservations? I didn't know they could turn into cigarettes though.

Ha ha... no Indian reservations in the UK, I'm afraid. The urban environment makes the pig's appearance even weirder - it's not like it could have wandered in from a local farm. I don't for one minute think that anything supernatural was going on, but by the same token I cannot fathom any natural explanation either. Maybe pigs really can fly.

I always think its odd when seeing things like this in a thrift store. Where would they get it from, and who would think it was a good idea to donate? Or for that matter who would buy it?

Creepy. The messed up part is that when I was getting ready to snap a picture, some lady that worked there came out of nowhere asking if I needed any help finding something. I always act all snarky while watching movies where stuff like that happens with the main character not noticing (for a jump scare)...but that stuff really can happen apparently.

Yeh, that's actually pretty disconcerting.

I'm watching more of this Paranormal Witness show... It's actually genuinely creepy in some of these stories. A nice antidote for the ghost hunter schlock on SyFy.

I have a tribal demon/devil mask in my house... it came from the Philippines.

I've never really considered it "creepy", as I have trinkets from all over the world.

Then again, the mask in Teknoman's post is a bit more dramatic than mine.

So I just saw some lights floating around near my Apt in Lakeside, Ca outside of San Diego. No Idea what it was, could just be a April Fools joke. Anyway I got them on video, judge for yourself.

Might just be a REALLY long balloon, but at one point they did a end over end flip, went up and down, then took off at a high speed to the left.

1st Video: http://youtu.be/zhhAYiHZWUo

2nd Video filmed about 5 mins after the first. http://youtu.be/RnEE8akUP5Y

Sorry about the crap video, Youtube wanted to edit the lighting and shake, I'll undo that once it lets me.

I had to a night shift at my job and I didn't leave until midnight. The area I walk home in was lit as always so normally I walk. That night however, I had this urge to run. I could not explain it I felt like something was chasing me so as i ran I kept looking back but there was no one and yet I felt like I had to run like my life depended on it. As soon as I came home and locked a door I looked out the window and I saw a guy wearing a hooded sweat jacket walk away. I never seen him on the way to my house or him running behind me. After that night, I always brought a sharp object with me

Its dark, but that would have to be a really, really long balloon i'd think. Dunno if its just the camera + lighting, but sometimes it seems you can faintly see a line connecting the lights.

flashing leds, looks like. could be a balloon or a kite with a long line of lights on it, or an ultralite. Some people rig their stuff for a 'ufo' night-flight effect. unless the lights do something otherworldly, or are wayyy too big to make sense, it's probably not anything really interesting.

Was he walking away from your door/where you were or just walking by?

Last night, I watched an episode of Paranormal Witness, and it was about 'The Dybbuk Box'.

That was actually legitimately creepy to me. Hadn't heard the story before. Really interesting stuff.

Edit: There's a bunch of new stories in this thread, I gotta read these.

Glad this show is on Netflix, gonna watch when I get the chance.

I was just walking back home across a field near my house (York, UK) at about 10:30pm and was standing looking up at the stars for about five minutes, just thinking about the universe and wondering how many people would be actually looking up into space at that particular moment.

After about five minutes or so, I saw a light, about star-sized, making its way across the sky in a mostly straight path. I figured it was a plane, so focussed on it, except it was regularly deviating from a straight line - not darting exactly, but salaloming (Sp? That thing that skiers do :p) in a zigzag that a plane would certainly not be able to perform. After about a minute, it faded from view - as if it was going further away - and disappeared.

Shortly after this, as I was still staring into space wondering what that light was, lasting for only a split second there was a bright - and this time colourful - streak of light in the night sky. It was literally about a second long, and mostly yellow but with hints of green and red I think, that wooshed accross and dissapeared. I assume this was something burning up in the atmosphere, but it was really wonderous and exciting to watch.

Zigzagging? :p

Dunno what the first was, could've been a plane, could've been something else. Second kinda sounds like a shooting star.

I think I saw my first UFO a few days ago. Was looking out the passenger side window on the way back from the mall, and I just noticed a bright light on the horizon. It wasnt high enough to be a star or planet, so I just thought it was an airplane facing its headlight in our direction (the mall is near an airport, objects in the air arent that uncommon). However...while I was looking at it, it just vanished as if nothing was there in the first place. No clouds in the sky, and the light seemed stationary for the few seconds it was there, so I have no idea what it was.

I was looking straight at it, so this isnt some "out of the corner of your eye" illusion, and if it was a simple case of an airplane headlight going out/turning off, you'd still see the plane, but there was literally nothing there after the light disappeared.

The thought of aliens doesn't really scare me as much as Ghosts. They freak the hell out of me, especially if it's kid ghosts.

My mom had many interesting stories involving paranormal activity, but this one was always the most fascinating.

Her and a girlfriend would always walk to and from school together when they were in HS and they had befriended an old lady who lived on their route. They would help do small chores and the lady would always offer coffee, tea, cookies, crackers etc. Well this one day, they saw her dressed immaculately. She was hanging clothes on one of those clothes line trees (whatever they're called) and my mother decided to help while her friend continued home. My mom would say that she looked beautiful and youthful and would comment but the lady never spoke of the occasion. Finally the women asked my mother to go inside to get something (I don't remember) and when she returned, she was gone. She went back in and saw her son whom she had met from previous visits.

She asked if he had seen how beautiful his mother had looked but the man seemed upset and almost agitated, ignoring my mother and frantically going through the house. My mother, confused, followed the man and asked where the woman was. He had told her that she wasn't there. She said that was impossible because they were just out back helping with the clothes on the line. She descibed how beautiful and radiant she had looked. Then she described the dress she was wearing. The son's face dropped and then took my mom upstairs.

On the women's bed was the very dress my mom saw her wearing. My mom told the man as such and he explained that she had passed away over night. This is the dress he picked out for the old lady to be buried in.

I always had her tell this story to new acquaintances in my life.

That was extremely chilling. *shivers*

My mom has passed and I'll never hear this story in her voice ever again =(. There are some details I'm missing, I'm sure.

Another story involved her and friends driving to a destination they've been to before but ending up driving in a repeated loop. At first, because they were all distracted by conversation, they laughed it off when they first saw that they had ended up back where they were previously. Second time, they blamed the driver but he/she swore they were taking the correct route. So they somewhat paid attention and STILL ended up at the familiar intersection. Now spooked, they paid full attention and finally made it to their destination.

When I was a child, my mother was a bartender and one night after closing, she walked home with some friends. They chatted outside of our place for a bit before she went inside. She swore something happened from the end of the driveway to when she got to the door because when she got inside, the tv was playing only fuzz which only happened in the wee hours of the morning, normally my mom could still catch some programming on tv when she got home. My dad was also flipping out wondering where she was, even called the couple who had walked her home and they said they saw her off over an hour ago.

Creepy. The time skip one is also unnerving, though I could believe that was just an honest mistake.

I think I can share a story.
My Grandmother recently passed away (On February) and everything about those 3 days was really depressing and dark. I found out she was in critical condition while I was at school and my Sister picked me up and explained the situation. Anyway, she passed away that same day and my Mom and Dad were really really sad, depressed, they just couldn't believe it. On the night of the Funeral we were at the funeral home and this man that looked like a street bum appeared. The man had his face covered in a hoodie and had gold and silver rings on his fingers. He also had two necklases, the man talked to my Dad and he said that my Dad "Had been a good son and had done good." he also said that my Grandma was in heaven and that she was in peace now, the man also had a dog named Benjamin, my grandma loved dogs and Benjamin was the name of one of her brothers. He went inside and walked to the casket, and the dog started running in circles around the casket, the man lifted the dog up and said some words like "she is in glory" or something like that.

The necklases the man was wearing had images of God in them. After hearing all of this from my Mom and Dad I decided to follow the man, he was walking to the right and I turned away for one second and turned back but he was not there anymore, not even the dog.
My family believes that this man was an Angel or maybe Jesus himself. We found out days later that the man had talked with all of my Grandma's sons, and he had told all of them different things. He told one of them that he had been a horrible son and that he did many things wrong.

Some time has passed now, but we still don't know who this man is, or how he knew who my Grandma's sons were or how he knew she had died, or why he brought a Dog along with him into a funeral home. My Dad and step brother also claim that the man said some words in Hebrew.

I have a story of being thoroughly creeped out when I was younger. Nothing supernatural. (I think)

My father was visiting a friends house and I had decided to come along with him as these people had 2 young lads who I could play with. These people lived out in the country, about a mile or two away from the main highway that runs up through the county. Well, we're sitting playing the N64 when one of them gets up to shut the curtains, he's stopped by his brother who tells him to keep them open for the men. At this point I'm uneasy, looking out into the blackness from the bedroom window.

Naturally I asked who these "men" were and was told by the eldest "There are men living in the Wendy House (this was a little Playhouse in the centre of the woodland near the main house) over in the woods, they come to the window during the night. We talk to them and give them food." Well that was it, I wanted out. I knew the woods and the Wendy House because we'd played in there previously and it shook me to the bone to know there were strange folks sleeping out in it. Remember this is out in the countryside, we're a good 7 or 8 miles from any town, the only reason I can think these people were here was the highway. God knows where they were during the day but I had major shivers and wanted to go home immediately. Pretty sure I clung to my dad until we left.

It might seem tame to an adult now, but boy was I done with that place forever. It was 100x worse because the woodland where the Playhouse was is unsettling enough, but to know some strange folk hung around there just made my 10 year old mind freak out. I'll never understand how those kids could just talk to these men, and even give them things. What if one of them was yanked from the window? They were probably nice enough, but it was just weird. Especially the fact that there were homeless folks living miles away from any city or town, that's not really heard of in this country. So it's still very strange to me. Who were these men?

I was just walking back home across a field near my house (York, UK) at about 10:30pm and was standing looking up at the stars for about five minutes, just thinking about the universe and wondering how many people would be actually looking up into space at that particular moment.

Sounds very much like a satellite, except for the zigzags.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX4ZIHkU3OQ (Not my video, just an example)

If you stare at the sky long enough you'll see them every minute or so. They can go at quite a rate, and depending on their position, they can be "star" like or much brighter. I have a lovely piece of software called Stellarium that tracks them in real time. Brilliant for sky watching.

I have a story which strangely doesn't freak me out that much.

About a year ago I stayed up late, and walked up the stairs to my bedroom. On the landing was a shadow person who looked directly at me before vanishing, I ran into my bedroom with my eyes closed and the lights blew out.

Not much to say apart from that, but it did weird me out for a while.

lol I dont think I would have closed my eyes for the rest of that night. That being said, I hate it when you flip a light switch and the bulb burns out.

Had a really scary experience last night:

Was talking to my girlfriend on the phone at around 11:15. I'm sitting in my office which is on the first floor of the house. I'm totally home alone aside from my dog by my side and my cat in the living room. I started to hear footsteps coming from upstairs. Like, someone with heavy boots were walking around up there. I owed it to random house noises, but then I heard it again. I flipped out and didn't know what to do, and was especially scared considering I'd forgotten to lock my front and back door. My girlfriend vocally guided me out of the house with my dog and told me to get in my car just in case I need to leave. I stayed in the car for about 30 minutes before finally checking back inside. I didn't call the cops because I wasn't entirely sure of what I'd heard.

I haven't told my girlfriend this yet, but this morning, I saw footprints embedded into my carpet upstairs. They were big shoe prints. I'm not sure if someone was in my house, or if this was paranormal, but I now keep my doors locked at all times.

That was a robber, and you should have called the cops.

Possibly, and there were... certain circumstances I can't really discuss which deterred me from calling the cops. The master bedroom was locked so it's very possible, upon hearing me leave, they fled. I hadn't seen anyone leave the house though...

That bit about staring out a window into blackness and thinking of someone staring back, unseen. Fuck that fucking shit.

When I was a young teen, I'd hang out with a friend and his sister and her friends. We'd play hide and grope type games in the house alone and one time I decided to rhetorically bring up that very thing, what if there was someone watching us from outside right now? Never have I seen every light shut off in the house as fast as that night. I even scared myself as the question was inspired by a program about abductions and one of the reenactments showed an alien staring into a home through a window. That shit still scares me.

I've actually experienced something similar. I was 15, it was 2 AM and I was staying up late playing F.E.A.R. The lights were on. The desk I was playing at is located under a small window. Right as I took off my headphones, I heard a faint knocking sound, but thought I'd imagined it. As I'm putting away my stuff I clearly hear the knocking sound again, so I stand up and look out the window. At first, I only see my own face reflected in the glass, but then I notice the eyes looking back at me aren't mine. Somebody's standing outside the window, looking in. A woman.

I'd just been playing a horror game, so obviously, I take a step back and go "whoa!" My mom, asleep upstairs, hears this, and comes rushing down. The woman outside starts blabbering about the local laundry works, which is just down the street. It's 2 AM, though, so I have no idea why she needs to be there at that hour. My mom points her in the right direction, waits until she's gone, double-checks the locks and goes to bed.

To this day, I still have no idea why that woman was out there. :lol

Super creepy. This exact type of occurrence is the reason why I have a thing about making sure all blinds and curtains are closed at night. The idea of someone looking at me from outside unbeknownst to me bugs me to no end.

It was creepy, yeah. The light outside my mom's front door also likes to pop on on it's own from time to time. I'm not there often anymore, but every time it happens I still expect something weird to cross in front of the windows. :p

EDIT: Crap, wasn't paying attention and thought you quoted me. Sorry. :lol
