In the comments he further backs his opinion up. Seems he is just tired of shooters that don't bring anything new to the industry, yet people get excited and buy them anyways.
I'm also sick and tired of military shooters, but I think it's misguided to take that out on Wolfenstein. It has a much more interesting setting than the Call of Dutys of this world.
He's speaking for the worldHe's not speaking for anyone but himself, though...
He literally does not know what's going on with this game. How can he then deride those for not knowing what went on with his?
The market is definitely saturated with a handful of ideas, and variety is sorely needed -- but singling out a new game and dumping on it after seeing nothing but a teaser trailer is a downright odious way to go about making the point.
Dammit Warren, I expected a bit more of an open mind by you, seems kinda dismissive to just write that because it's not his cup of tea.
Are you sure? Tell us more about it.
Epic Mickey or not, the man has a point.
Hopefully he's wrong and the game has some redeeming value.
Another generic FPS is one thing the world does not need.
The guy seems to have grown bitter and cynical towards the games industry. Maybe he needs to take a long vacation or think about retiring.
The world didn't need Epic Mickey, either
Again with the criticism of work that others do. Spector sounds irate, annoyed and generally whiny. Thanks for leaving.
Shame he went full Jack Thompson after Epic MIckey, cant believe I defended the guy for so long.
I think this is a reasonable response about the actual points: "...singling out a new game and dumping on it after seeing nothing but a teaser trailer is a downright odious way to go about making the point."Jim Sterling just put up his take on it:

I agree with Warren and feel that the comments attacking him as a person are off base.
But that's all that will be in this thread, and no discussion of his actually valid points.

I'd be curious to hear what game the world actually does need. At the end of the day, they're still playthings and so long as people are enjoying them, that's all the need that's required.
This is just snobbery, to my ears.
