Xbox Reveal Thread: Durango Unchained

Overall its easy to gripe at these kind of events but at the heart of it we're getting a new XBOX AND anew PS. What's not to like about that?

My inner geek did scream after the billionth sports announcement "Didn't I start roleplaying and playing video games to get away from jocks?!"

I like the next generation TV integration and 15 exclusive games though some features seem very odd to me. The ability to do things while watching a movie is not something I every wished for. When I watch a movie I'm in a zone.

Well, that was fucking awful. Most of it was aimed at services that won't be available outside the US, what we saw of the "games" was underwhelming to say the least, the last two TV shows produced by Spielberg were Falling Skies and Terra Nova, a fee to install used games, no price, no date. And the presenters too, Jesus Christ. I've never heard so many people talk for so long without actually saying anything.

And that's for sure. Some of the cheering wouldn't come from actual unbiased people.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Terrible. Worse than the PS4 conference.

Only thing that caught my attention was Halo TV show and I'm even not putting much faith in that. Spielberg is practically irrelevant nowadays when it comes to sci-fi.

Nonsense, it was an ALL IN ONE MULTIMEDIA FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT INTERACTIVE DYNAMIC MEDIA BASED MULTITASKING PROCESSING UNIT reveal! Games are for squares, our focus testing indicates.

Yeap, games were mostly ignored and most of the ones that were revealed were CG.

I am not calling that thing "Xbox One", I am calling it "Xbox Three"; it's the THIRD Xbox.

I thought EA and Capcpom were the only ones who couldn't count.

The EA deal sheds a new (but expected) light on the Wii U shitting earlier.

So TV, TV, Forza, TV, Halo (on TV), Sports, TV, CoD (which looked like crap).

Aiming for that dudebro market, huh?

Awful conference all around.

that was a terrible conference.

i dont watch much tv, i definitely don't plan on paying for cable tv when i move out, and ghosts just didn't look very impressive.

id rather just press a button on my remote to switch between hdmi outputs than say 'xbox change to blah'.

the system itself looks great but the controller looks like it has not be innovated on AT ALL.

yup, im disappointed.

I live in the wrong country for this console. Did it feel to anyone else like a beat for beat repeat of last year's E3 conference?

You can tell it was bad by seeing how defensive the Xbox fanboys are on twitter.

If PS4 and ONE launch at the same price, it's a no-brainer.

This was quite easily the worst game console reveal i've ever seen.I don't care for your fucking tv integration and neither about voice/kinnect gimmicks.I rarely watch tv anyways.
And good luck continuing focusing in sports and shooters.

You clearly don't know console reveals, X360 and Playstation 3, and Wii were all disastrous.

Stocks have nothing to do with these kind of events.

Disagree. This was a huge investment for Microsoft (300,000 servers?). I'm surprised there is not more of a response on the Microsoft stock. If this is dead in the water they are out close to a half a billion dollars. Makes sense why they are not subsidizing consoles now.

Look when the stock went up.... it started during the conference.... not before... it is directly related.

Blah, blah, blah, we might have fixed the d-pad, blah, blah, blah.

EA loves Microsoft and is going to put all their FIFA in it.

XBox One is a water cooler that lets you watch TV while you play Halo with Steven Spielberg and taunt your friends.

Steven Spielberg used to play Pong in 1974 and everyone made fun of him, that's why AI had 3 endings.

Football is about to be changed forever with exclusive Call of Duty DLC and advanced dog rendering.

Next Gen arms are going to be oozing, bleeding and covered in so much filth that the emotions will make you cry.
I approve of this post.

Rock bottom expectations and they still disappoint. Only on Xbox.

Pretty much.

The one positive thing to say is that they showed the box. It's not a pretty box but they showed it.

Very evasive on spec talk. Everything, aside from Cod Ghosts, looked CGI / "target render". Too much TV and US centric service talk.

I'll give the conference a one.... out of ten.

Good god, I had really low expectations on this and it was even worse than I imagined. And this bull about having offline code to play games if you buy second hand? Yeah good luck with that Ms

Not exactly pleased. Will keep an open mind for E3 and make a decision from there.

The new COD definitely didn't impress me. I know Killzone is an exclusive title but I couldn't help but notice the vast difference in quality.

It was really boring and kind of pointless. 5 Billion transistors, a bunch of sports game, forza, and exclusive CoD DLC.

It would have helped to show what the 15 exclusives are. I guess Quantum Break is one of them.

Console looks really ugly. I wonder how worse the rejected prototypes must have been by focus groups.

They put to much emphasis on the TV stuff to be honest. I can already watch TV Microsoft.

All of the ridiculously insulting "marketing speak" was infuriating to me. I expected as much, but it was still enraging. I can't stand that shit.

So XBox One is a Cable Box that doesn't play used games? Well I definitely need more at E3. Leaning towards the Ouya at this point.... :p

I wonder what it's going to be like in Europe? We don't have any TV stuff on our 360s like USA people do. We'll probably get nothing as usual.

I know MS will still deliver with the games, but honestly, the Xbox One just sounds like it is unfocused as a gaming device.

I like everything else to be supplemental, but the media and UI seems just as big of a focus, and frankly it turns me off.

I guess you all missed the part where they said 15 exclusives in the first year and 8 of them being new IP?

How could you possibly get excited over such a vague statement? It could be Kinect Adventures 2, Tickle My Lion Sack 2, ect. I guess we all have to wait until E3 to see if this thing plays anything other than TV shows and COD.

Yup. That was pretty bad. The only good parts were some Forza 5, Remedy's new game and some spec talk. I'll probably be excited once they talk about some games, though.

Fantasy football, integrated TV, and partnerships with EA and Activision are probably going to make Xbox One the winner sales-wise. But PS4 seems more developer-centric and gamer oriented. I'm rooting for Sony, but they're probably going to cave-in and try to imitate One's features.

I think the mainstream press is going to eat up One, while they were "meh" to PS4. "LOL, console games aren't cool anymore," etc. I'd love to see Sony take a stand for core gaming, but they're too big a corporation to only cater to what is being viewed as a shrinking audience.

I love how all the games Sony showed had vibrant colors, while all the games showed today were the usual brown and grey from this gen.

15 exclusives, Halo TV Show, Hyper Sensitive Kinect, MUCH better looking controller. The fuck is wrong with you people, this was amazing as an introduction to the capabilities. E3 is just around the corner, and the system isn't even released yet.

I have zero confidence that MS will have that working with Sky/Virgin in the UK so most of that was irrelevant to me and I imagine most of the non-US world. Almost all hype gone after that conference.
