Glen Burnie MD isn't ideal, but i'm okay with that. Hopefully I don't get shot trying to get my hands on some demo play

I mean this has to be somewhat big if it's interesting enough for Nintendo to team up with Best Buys all over the place. My dream is we get to play a demo of the new Smash Bros., Retro's game, and/or Bayonetta 2.

Ok Duluth & Cumberland are back on the site's list. That's not too far from me. Maybe hour max.

Awesome! Yeah I'm about an hour and 30 minutes away from the Cumberland Best Buy.

Atlanta-area GAF seems to be much larger then I thought. If anyone is interested, we could have a GAF Meetup before or after one of the events. It's been suggested a few times within this thread and I think it is a good idea.

And we have to assume that these will be demos of 2013 releases, right? I don't think they'd take the time to put out demos for the public if the games weren't coming out relatively soon.

Not gonna be crossing the Bay Bridge just to try out some E3 demos especially when I go by two Best Buys on the way from work.

I'm driving all the way to LA for E3, and you don't wanna cross the Bay Bridge? Also, there's San Jose if the scenic 280 drive is more your style.

So I guess we best be lining up for this? How early are you guys gonna get there?

I'm already in line.

But on a more serious note, I'll probably just swing on by a couple hours early just to scope out the situation. If there's no line, I can entertain myself with wandering around doing some other shopping, and if there's a *reasonable* line, I'll get in it and chat with others until it's time for the bomb to be dropped. Hopefully, I get some of that Luigi swag as well.

One location for Washington? And it's not even near the NoA campus? I'm not sure if driving 30-45 mins away is worth it because that location is bound to be swamped...

Two hours? Dang, I was gonna swing by an hour before but that sounds fine. I love that the Best Buy they're probably hosting it at is 2 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE.

Well if it turns out no one is there I figure I can screw around in the area, there's stuff to do. Just wanna make sure I get a chance to try out the games seeing as it's a short time frame and there's literally only one Best Buy participating in the entire state.

Still better than my choices. I can drive 2 Hours to Wilmington and hope that it's not a mad house. Or take the extra 30 minutes to get to KOP and not have any chance of playing the demos.

I'm from west Kendall area, hope they have one at either the bestbuy at Dadeland or on 88th; If not its gunna be a drive.

I'm in Miami, too! I'm also hoping that it's at the Dadeland location. I believe that was the only location that held a midnight release for the 3DS; it was a lot of fun, that night. :p

Why do some Americans here even complain about locations? Do they realize there are more than a hundred countries that won't get this at all? This is a nice initiative from Nintendo (though I don't get why they don't release the demos on eShop as well), and you're probably not gonna die if you don't have the opportunity to play these demos because the closest Best Buy is too far away.
It is obviously smarter to do such events in lesser populated areas; I doubt people enjoy 10-hour queues.

Probably also has a lot to do with the locations. IE- relative to the reps stores of choice (near where they live maybe)

Yeah, they generally have two reps for a particular market that hits up all Nintendo-selling stores, including ones that don't actually have any hardware kiosks to maintain.

Sweet, McAllen Texas! Ah crap, I might be switching jobs before E3 happens. Even then, there's a bunch of stores here, and I'm not sure if every single one of them will get it. Here's hoping store 1473 gets it.

I wouldn't mind doing a Toronto meet up at a less populated location... Yonge and Dundas is going to be packed, most likely. I want to be speed running those Wind Waker and Mario demos by the end of this.

If they have a less populated location, I would be interesting in meeting fellow CanadiaGAFfers.

Wait, where do you see this?

Educated guesstimate that's one of the main locations they'll select. I mean, one store for each capital city in the provinces, so Vancouver, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal (populous in Quebec's case), Halifax, Fredericton, Charlottetown and Saint John's. So, 11 left for other towns/locations. Quebec City might get one, and Toronto I would be surprised if it didn't have two locations. Vancouver to get a second BB is likely. And the rest would be sprinkled further North so the rest of Canada isn't left out entirely.

This is interesting, kind of confirms how the logistics of this whole thing are handled. What I wondered when I heard this news was that how would Nintendo allow shaky builds of their upcoming games to an uncontrolled environment - not to speak of risking them floating around after the event or worse, leaking to the inter webs. Also I wondered that how would they get the BB employees download the games from a location where others can't, or keep the discs safe.

The reason for the low number of stores is clear to me - Nintendo is sending their own sales force to man these presentations. They will get locked and sealed Wii U boxes from Redmond, come with them for the day and pack up in the end. Same demos, no risk.
