One shot to the head

I guess will do ?

Can't see the video, does it confirm 1 head shot kill?

Arne can you please chime in? It will be incredibly disappointing to hear that you created this game about realism and survival, yet through it all away with unrealistic encounters (when it comes to the humans, the infected creatures I expect to be harder to kill).

Hopefully, if this is indeed the case, I pray Naughty Dog will sort out a patch, because this could be a game breaker for me.

I literally just loaded up the game and just used the revolver to headshot a hunter, 1 hit kill.
Thank you. I hope this game has a big influence on cinematic shooters. Less ammo, more painful bullets please. It's different if it's a run and gun shooter like Halo or something. Mixing tactical and bullet sponges is just dull.

edit:
Yea, he said it was the same for Uncharted. It's not, Uncharted is 1 hit headshot kills except for helmet wearing heavies.
Ugh, I think bullet sponges are the one thing keeping me from enjoying Uncharted. It's so boring to sit there and shoot someone four times in the chest before they hop behind a wall. I hope the gunplay is not like Uncharted.

And now I can post this.

So I just read a couple of different reviews with different kinds of scores, and at the end of it, I still don't know what makes this game so amazing?

The gameplay seems to consist of walking around open areas looking for trinkets (been done a million times), 3rd person shooter sections with wobbly aim, and trivial sounding puzzles. Also there is stealth, but it involves using a magical ability to see through walls.

I'm not saying the game is or isn't amazing since I haven't played it, but if you ignore the story and characters and graphics and all that, what about the gameplay in this game is actually supposed to be standing out so much to get all these 10's? Honest question.

So the consensus is that the game should be played with headphones?

Any suggestions?

Looks like that's the case, the sound work in this game is top notch, I wish I had good headphones to play this game with, I'll have to deal with my TV speakers for now.

FANTASTIC! I wasn't expecting that, even though I wish it would be true. It would be the shit if we could completely avoid encounters if we don't enter some shop to gather supplies.

40-50 reviews still left to be accounted for.

The final score will probably be cemented by the end of june.

Are there any major ones besides GT that haven't posted their score? We all know this is a weighted system and the major sites are the ones that matter more for the score.

Just stick to head shots dude. Easy 1 hit kills.

But is that like a "first 5 hours enemy" or a "last 7 hours enemy."

.........Don't look at me like I'm crazy, this matters to me more than you know

At a certain point, you're probably going against paramilitary, my guess is the Fireflies, and they might require multiple headshots.

So, you can use this sort of reduction to pretty much ANY game...it's pretty pointless and I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

The gameplay actually seems to be fairly innovative, with strong AI and dynamic encounters. The game encourages you to think intelligently about resources in an era where recharging health has become all too common place.

I regret clicking this.

But upside down forced shooting part?
Really? What's next, infinite ammo setpiece?

Still very excited for the game, but come on.

Okay, see this is what is concerning me. Naughty Dog, you create this game about surviving, every bullet counts, scrounge for every item, always approach every situation with care and substance.

But than you create a segment that is completely unrealistic, and goes against the games core mechanic (of saving your bullets, every bullet counts).

That's very disappointing if you ask me.

I literally just loaded up the game and just used the revolver to headshot a hunter, 1 hit kill.

This applies even for hard or survival mode? Nothing I hate more than bullet sponges.

Maybe it's not the gameplay but the other things that you're ignoring? If reviews were based solely on gameplay then none of the ND games would get universal praise.

Tom Chicks review.

Considering how notorious he is for giving games bad scores, the average might go down again. Who knows.

But yeah, most of the major outlets are already accounted for.

You can turn it off, and no, it's not just turning off a very important part of the gameplay. If the demo is anything to go by, it's not missed at all, and not having it actually improves the experience. Seems like it's just a wallhack really. At least on single player, I kinda like the way they did it for multiplayer.

At a certain point, you're probably going against paramilitary, my guess is the Fireflies, and they might require multiple headshots.

In that case I begin to wonder about enemy reactions, or lack thereof, to being shot which barely any review of any shooter ever speaks on.

I just have to wait until release. If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself, or something.

Good to see this game scoring well, i've been on a media blackout for this game, the only footage i've seen was with Adam Sessler who did a 5 min preview/hands-on with it a few months back.

I've become really bored of 3rd person story based action games recently, sticking to games which involve heavy rpg elements/loot mechanics (monster hunter, diablo) or quick fix action games (shmups, twin stick shooters). I got bored of Resident Evil 6 and Dead Space 3 really quickly despite the previous games being some of my all time best and those were the last games I purchased (even gave GOW: Ascension a miss). I'm really excited to jump back into my fave genre with The Last of Us.

If you still own RE6, you should try Mercenaries mode, it's what you like playing right now. A lot better than the campaign, and makes the controls shine.

You just responded to the Community Manager of Naughty Dog, hahahaha.

Community Manager? I thought he was their Samurai warrior :(

seemed to be the same on hard. don't have survivor unlocked atm.

Does Survivor eliminates the HUD or something? Can you tell us what exactly Survivor does? :(

Is there any conceptual art for the game online? As an artist, I would love to see some of your teams pieces.

I believe one of the reviews said you can unlock things such as filters, concept art etc in game. Similar to Uncharted 1 and 2.

So hopefully there's plenty of it there.

The gameplay seems to consist of walking around open areas looking for trinkets (been done a million times)

What games? An your not looking for trinkets, your looking for items to scavenge together to craft various home made items to use against your enemies

3rd person shooter sections with wobbly aim, and trivial sounding puzzles.

From what I understand this game isn't your average 3rd person shooter. 1 bite from the infected and your down, a few shots your dead.

Every bullet counts. It's about realism, it's about whether I use my last few remaining bullets, or do I try to sneak around this enemy and avoid the confrontation all together.

Also there is stealth, but it involves using a magical ability to see through walls.

That can be turned off. I think it's automatically turned off on hard and survivor.

The gameplay in this game is actually supposed to be standing out so much to get all these 10's? Honest question.

It doesn't hand hold you. It returns to gaming basics. Health kits, crafting items, 1 bite kills. It reflects that of a real life scenario. A scenario where you only have a few bullets to survive, and only your environment as your true weapon.
