Final Fantasy XV Announced for PS4

I can't even tell you how happy I am to see this.

Nomura is fucking back. Badass Noctis doing badass things. Those visuals. NO GODDAMN LIGHTNING OR TORIYAMA TO BE SEEN. It's like SE may finally be on the right track with their in-house console releases again.

Versus was always going to be more of an action title.

I have mixed feelings about this.

I'm not really into action RPGs. I don't think it looks bad, but it seems heavy on the flash, and doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game to me.

I'm going to pick it up, and it certainly looks fun, but ehhhh. Noctis also already looks like he's Superman.

Oh well. I'll be paying more attention to it now, in any case.

What are guys hoping for tomorrows SE panel? I'm guessing they are going to fouce more on FFXIV. Hopefully a release date.

If FFXV comes in 2014. Then that would mean a sequel to FFXIII, FFXIV, and FFXV releasing the same year ..... never thought that would happen.

Love how clean the UI is all around.

Everything looks so fluid. Love the way that guy comes through the door shooting the enemy.
Final Fantasy XV is exclusive. Sony was trying to work out Kingdom Hearts III before the conference. I have heard Sony is helping with XV to get the game out in a timely fashion.
Really hope you're right.

This trailer was bad-fucking-ass. Loved all the in-game footage and am way more excited for this than I ever was for any of the Final Fantasy XIII games. Good on Square-Enix for dropping Versus and making it XV. It's a good move. Now just release it between now and the end of 2014 and you'll be perfect.

Right now, neither FF15 or KH3 are signed on the dotted line exclusive. FF15 was, once upon a time, pretty much expected as SCE were the ones who made the initial approach for that project to be changed to a next generation platform. KH3 was pursued aggressively, and was near enough finalised about a month ago, but since the MS reveal, a fair few things have changed. So, things are on hold right now, and the contract is essentially in the air. However, SCE does have options on exclusive games from SE.

Secondly, people should really disregard this whole Sony co-developing nonsense. I've said before it's exaggerated, and it really is. I'm also quite confident the so called 'sources' of this nonsense rumour are probably derived from a couple PMs of mine back at the end of January. I told a fair few people (one ended up having a meltdown, and then getting banned), and I imagine some went to places like VGLeaks, and then other sites picked up on it later.

Anyhow, game looks really nice. The segments in the building, and the water city with the boats and European/ME architecture are all real time.

I love how the vision Nomura described all those years ago regarding the fluidity of the title seems to have been realized. I remember him describing enemies attacking from both inside and outside a building on a scale not done before with no load times.

Best E3 in a long, long time!

The last few years left me disappointed, but this E3 seems to deliver again and again- and this is before Nintendo's show!

Getting the PS4 for sure but I doubt this is exclusive. I hope we find out at the panel tomorrow.

Even if it's not exclusive, I bet PS4 is going to be the better version, just like XIII and PS3.

I'm surprised they showed Elder Scrolls Online, but not PS4 footage of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. ARR looks stunning on PC, and that's what it will look like on PS4.

Even if these weren't exclusive, I'm still getting them on PS4. At least I'll actually own them. Heh.

It really hurt that Dead Rising 3 was an exclusive to Xbox One. But the Sony conference really healed a lot of that pain. Everything from the S-E announcement on was just amazing.

So what you're saying is that things could go either way right now and nothing is set in stone. I'm guessing that also means development on non-PS4 versions of either game haven't even started yet?

Hopefully Sony sees the reactions people are having to these games and locks them down tightly. I'd hate to see priorities change or compromises made to fit multiplatform parity.

Dead

well not really...yet
They shouldnt have even bothered faking the versus reveal. Just straight up announce it as FF15 and leave the versus name buried forever.

Oh, I'm not talking about the fact that it was rebranded. I'm talking about the logo morph.

I suspect that was also predicted some years ago.

I wonder who actually got it right from the get-go? Like, the original person who started the FFVersus=FFXV rumor?

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
No HD trailer yet?!

Looks good. Excited to see more and play it, and the re-title was expected based on rumours, but still shocked that a mainline titled Final Fantasy is an action RPG.

So, can anyone ask Square or Sony directly whether it's a PS4 exclusive? what about kingdom hearts 3?

I agree, I'd like to know as well. I would be shocked if KH3 is exclusive, but wouldn't be if FFXV went either way.

What about what you said here?

It's a new IP for definite. I don't want to say more than that because we're only a few months away and it'll be much more impressive to have a full reveal. It'd be unfair to GG, and this is going to be a really huge event for them. Plus I know very little, and it's no point putting it out there. It' be more detrimental than anything else. I can tell you it's not like Killzone.

I can spill the following comfortably though since I think this developer is a bit of a joke, and I think people are beginning to suspect this anyway. Versus XIII will have another unveiling later this year regarding development for the next generation. It won't have the "Versus XIII" part in the title. It will definitely release in 2014. You can have my account deleted if this information turns out to be inaccurate. News is fresh on this and I'm really confident about it. FF15 and FF16 are underway, both next generation projects. There's a chance FF15, in particular, may be an exclusive release. Kind of. And with that, I'm off to sleep.

So you were wrong since FFv13 ended up being FFXV? Unless I'm wrong.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
While Thuway is pretty solid, Verendus is a more authoritative source by far.

Verendus was pretty spot on except for the non-KH3 KH title being on PS4 and KH3 is in the works but it won't be revealed any time soon.

Is it weird that I'm really excited for this even though I really didn't care for the last two single-player installments in the series?

Is it real-time action, or turn based?
