No way they are gonna cancel the 3DS game when it's gonna outsell the WiiU one by a factor of a ton.

Problem is that I don't understand why would they go with 3DS and WIi U. I meant would 3DS version stopped people from buying Wii U since they are similar in term of characters. If they want more people to buy Wii U then they need to go far as they can for Wii U, rather than spend their time on 3DS.

They are going with WiiU and 3DS games because Japan is portable land and has been for more than a decade now.

All they have to do is limit Download Play and the Wii U version will still sell fine. Nobody's going to buy 4 3DS's and 4 copies of the game to fully enjoy the game.

Mega Man's icon should have been obvious:

Part of the big appeal on upcoming Smash Bros games are the newcomers

I think adding DLC character would kind of hurt the fun in that.

Nah. I'm glad. It means Sakurai is intent on making the games as full on content as possible. Planning on DLC means leaving characters out for later, which is done way too much with fighters nowadays.

Yup. Kid Icarus is stuffed to the brim with content, so I'm optimistic that it'll be the same for this.

They said it was a possibility, just not on the cards at the moment. It'll be stages more than characters I think. Anything that shakes up the fundamentals Nintendo genuinely seems to like not including as DLC.

Less than 50% possibility so I'm happy.

Exactly. It'd suck having to get an awesome character via dlc.

I think either Mega Man's helmet or maybe an E-Tank should have been his icon, a gear is too generic and hasn't really ever been used as a symbol of the series.

I hope Snake isn't in this game. MGSV isn't even coming out on the Wii U. I know they released Snake Eater 3D, but that's not good enough at least for me.

Well you aren't good enough for me.
Wait that's just awkward. I think snake needs to stay at the very least move set wise. All that work into a new character just to scrap it seems pretty wasteful. Like I keep saying if you have to give the move set to a advanced wars character. Ill take that compromise.

The way they're not planning any DLC currently but are open to it in the future leaves me in high hopes of the best case scenario: game comes out as complete as can be with MOAR added in the future.

Some y'all might be overreacting a little; the 3DS isn't exactly NES-level hardware. It can at least handle something of Melee caliber. If there are going to be limitations, I don't expect them to be severe. But I do subscribe to the idea that both versions should have been something entirely different. Different rosters, different stages, difference mechanics, possibly. Basically tailor the designs to the strengths/weaknesses of each platform.

So what about WiiU-3DS-crossplay. Wasn't this a thing some time? Did they mention it during E3? How would that work out if some 3DS chars would play differently? I guess i must have missed something...

I'd be really disappointed if Snake didn't return, he ended up being my go to character in Brawl. Wasn't his inclusion due to Kojima pushing for it?

I really don't care too much for third party characters though, as long as the previous ones return I'd be happy enough.

SSB on the go is pointless for some people like me.

Well I mean I don't mean literally walking (or riding) and playing. I mean if I want to go chill chill in a hot tub and play SSB with friends I'm covered. Instant LAN parties wherever the fuck you want.

edit: "Fit-chan" what the shit

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. Yabuki turned off voice chat in Mario Kart races. True artists of their time.

You can think of situations where, if you implemented touch controls on Wii U, then the GamePad player would have advantages over other players," Sakurai told me. "We want to balance evenly across Wii U and the 3DS versions, so there's a balance issue there, which means you would have to avoid using touch screen controls."

What I'm hoping for if they do eventually decide to do DLC is to incorporate content from games that come out AFTER Smash 4. That would be a great way to promote the new games, and would definitely be worth purchasing.

You know looking at the picture you posted and before reaching the end of the post I actually thought you were going to say a silhouette of Mega Man jumping into a boss door, it's iconic!

Yeah Snakes inclusion was because of Kojimas push. But who knows what's going on with that now. No one wanted to ask kojima that question at E3. VA might be a big issue to. No way Sutherland is going to record audio for smash

I wouldn't mind someone else getting his moveset, but I just don't want the roster to be compromised by a character that isn't even releasing the new game he's in on the Wii U.
