Only celestial weapon I knew I had no chance of getting was Wakka's...I'm not doing all that Blitzball, no way.

If there IS a limited edition of this, I'm so there.

What's all this nonsense about no Vita versions?

I was just making the point that I hadn't seen them for pre-order anywhere and was wondering if they were going to get a delayed release. Also am curious to see how they're priced. Wouldn't be surprised at $30, but that would suck for those who want both and have to pay more.

Would it be so crazy for them to simply have 2 Vita carts in one box? Then sell each game for $19.99 each on PSN.

Would be amazing. FF10 HD for $20 would be such a good deal. I only want that out of the 2 so hopefully the pricing is reasonable.
Who am I kidding, I'd buy just FF10 HD for $40.

That's the game that I really need on my Vita.

Square said depending on how well this does then you can get XII. Buy this game plz :)

They probably don't know how to release them. X and X-2 are being released separately on Vita in Japan (probably due to Vita game card size limitations), but with the $40 price tag in North America on PS3 I can't see how SE would justify $30-$40 for each game on Vita, and they're definitely not doing $20 retail releases. My suggestion is to just make X-2 a downloadable title on Vita, and include a code with copies of X.

Good ppl need X-2 permanently in their Vita's so all Vitas can be blessedT

Don't buy it and you don't get FF XII ;)

FFXII was the first FF game I didn't finish. I have little love for what I played to be honest, which was over 20 hours. I was playing through at the time PS3 launched here, and had no way to transfer my save over.

FFX was the last great FF game for me. I need this game on my Vita.

Agreed. FFXII was the only one I haven't beaten. I unfortunately had the lessor US version when my mom got it for me before I started HS. Everything about it is amazing but there is something that just held me back and I just stopped playing. I wish I could play ZJS and be BLESSED by superiority like other gaffers ;__; the job system sounds amazing

Well the MGS HD Collection was $40 for 3 games on PS3/360 and $40 for 2 games on Vita so it's not out of the question for them to charge $30 for one game. Maybe even $40 for one game after that Square Enix tax.

Found this on playstationlifestyle. It is a Gamestop weekly ad where it says you can have a “Free Limited Edition Upgrade” when you pre-order the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.

Apparently there is going to be added content available on a supposedly limited edition of FF X/X-2 HD.
They should make a steel case with the FFX Tidus picture on the front and the FFX-2 Yuna picture on the back.
I'm surprised how well the cg still holds up.

Well, I don't think anyone doubts X/X-2 is gonna sell well enough. It's pretty much guaranteed at this point we're gonna get XII International HD.

I've never played the Zodiac version either. I'm curious to know how the job system improves the gameplay. I already loved the original XII a lot.

FIrst of all, the encounter rate is pretty standard.

Second of all, the reason many consider FFX to be perfectly paced is because the battle areas don't go on for long without coming to an inn, a temple, a town, a camp, etc. And even the longer ones usually have a handful of cut-scenes throughout, like the Mihen Highroad.

Nothing on the date. The closest thing we have gotten to a concrete statement on a physical release is a Square Enix rep stating the vita version is 'on 2 discs' (paraphrased) at PAX East. But the statement obviously could just be a general wording for separated releases and not actually physical discs'

In short, no.

There are still people in 2013 that want random battles, and find them fun...

Fucking with this in the game would ensure I wouldn't buy it, and I doubt I am alone.

I like random encounters myself. Largely because when Grinding and Random Drops are a thing the less annoying it is initiate encounters the better.

Any word yet on some sort of crossplay/cross-save functionality? I'd love to have this on the go, especially for post-game grinding in FFX, but would certainly like to play it on the big screen as well.

Yeah, the only real long combat grind section of the game is Mt. Gagazet, I think. The rest is spaced out with plenty of cutscenes and save spheres.

you know, the Vita version not being able to preorder on Amazon is a little concerning.

I'm bracing myself for a "please understand" moment.

Speaking of encounter rates, can Geosgaeno still drop a No Encounters weapon in International version?

He can, yes. I've been playing through the Int version and just recently got a No Encounters weapon for Wakka from him on my second try. The weapon also has two extra customizable slots, which is the best I've ever seen drop from him. (Is it possible to get a NE weapon from him that has three extra slots?)

We still don't know anything about either of those yet. I really wish they had cleared some things up about the Vita versions at E3...

I'm replaying through FFX, and man, the game is just as amazing as I remembered. Still my favorite game of all time. I have never bought an HD remaster, but I'm very tempted to get this.

Mine as well. I haven't played it in years though. In a way, I still can't even believe it's being remastered. It's something I quite literally saw as a dream.

If Skies of Arcadia has one, then so does FFX.

lol that game the only one where I fell a sleep while playing mostly farming for stuff... still got the GC legends version... FFX wasn't bad, I thought there was a no encounter weapon in the US version also. lol I 100% that game and cant remember. :p.... but yeah the random battles never bothered me much...having to kill 10 of each enemy and all.

It's been 3 years or so since I've played FFX, but I don't recall the encounter rate being as bad as, say, the Digital Devil Saga games for example (which I played in 2012).

Given I've played through things like Mega Man X Command Mission, I can't help but find anyone saying X's encounter rate is high anything short of crazy.

I am probably repeating something discussed in the other news thread, but I missed if it was.
It was pointed out a while ago that there was a missing texture on the railing in the left image:
Though we all agreed it was simply an early screen, not that it was final. And it is fixed on the right.
The funny part to me is that these are both currently displayed next to each other on Paine's character page.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with X's encounter rate. There were times while grinding I had wished it was higher.

I'm really hoping for a cross save announcement. It's a requirement for me getting the Vita version (of X anyway)

Speaking of encounter rates, can Geosgaeno still drop a No Encounters weapon in International version?

Well he does on the European version which International is based off, but they might have removed it for the JP international. Even though it's not really that hard to create an armour of your own, I'm kinda hoping that weapon glitch stays :p

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with X's encounter rate. There were times while grinding I had wished it was higher.

On top of having half and no encounter rate for armours, they probably should have had double as well.

Not that I think I'm gonna bother with stat grinding for dark Aeons or Monster Hunting. Far too much effort for me after all the hours I spent on it back in the day. I no longer have the patience, and more importantly time for something on that level

I don't really know what would be useful to customize onto a No Encounters weapon, though, to be honest.
