Playstation Plus Thread 2: How do I hold all these games?

Glad to see I can redeem PS+ games on my PC. I sold my PS3 at GameStop. Managed to get +$300 for the system and 4 games, only one being a newish game. PS4 is paid off now. I'll miss my PS+ stuffs, but I'll be collecting them for whenever I do get another PS3 for cheap after the PS4 is out.

To those wondering how I got $300, GameStop is doing 50% extra on all games, systems, and accessories.

Is Gamestop running a new promotion? I only got $250 for mine (so almost as good as the deal you got). Yep, I got the whole system paid off without paying anything out of pocket and I still have one PS3 to boot to play all summer/fall games. :) Yet the GAF facebook group still had problems with my decision and giving money to gamestop. Haters gonna hate. :/

The promotion e-mailed to me said 50% extra trade-in credit on anything towards a PS4. I think it's 50% extra in general based on CAG though.

The promotion is actually 50% extra trade-in credit on anything towards a PS4. I think yesterday it was 50% credit on anything.

Yep. Just checked the website and the deal is good until the 28th. I've still got accessories/games to trade in too. Now I'm going for a free 2nd PS4 controller and PS4 eye. Thanks for telling me about this. :)

Oh and it's actually a bonus 10% (so 60% total) for people that have their power up card. Which I do. :)

I traded in a 500 GB model. That may explain the difference.

I have a small question:
If I put a game in my cart when it's discounted, does it stay the same price in my cart when the discount ends?
I'd like to buy Uncharted 1 & 2 pretty cheap via PS+ but I don't know if I can get it before the discount ends (student with no money :) )

Can anyone explain account/game sharing to me?
I always give my buddy's kids my ps3 games when I'm done with them and I just thought if there is a way to share my ps+ with them, then they could play all the games I have. I had understood that game sharing was possible, but I am curious if my account will have complete control? Meaning if I need to revoke access I can, or when I get a ps4 I'll still be able to use plus on my ps3 and ps4 if I allow them access to my account/dl'd games?

Ftr, I've been friends with my buddy for years and know he and his kids won't spend money in my wallet, or basically just fuck me around. I know the risks (I think) and I do feel good about sharing sensitive info with them as long as I have complete control.

If anybody has experience doing this or knows the ins and outs I'd really love the help. Thanks ;)

Log into your PSN account on their PS3 and they'll be able to download your games.

You can only have your account "activated" on two PS3s and two PSP/Vitas. It's not clear yet whether the PS4 will use the same set of activations as the PS3, or if it'll get its own two.

You can deactivate your account on all PS3s from the Qriosity website.

I'd guess that the cart session would timeout long before that (most of these things will timeout in a matter of minutes without any activity). It can't hurt to give it a try though.

Gamasutra.
If you're going to account share, at least don't use a credit card. Buy codes and apply them to your account. It's the only way to be sure.

Game sharing used to be 5 PS3's
You can add your account to 5 separate PS3's anywhere in the world and all the users on the 5 PS3's benefited with playing the game on their accounts from one shared account

So much game sharing was taking place, some publishers complained, game sells only 10l,000+ copies, yet has 100,000 on the leaderboards
Also shenanigans were to be had where people after fucking up their 5 activation switch sharing and losing their access (only way back then was to Deactivate the system through the XMB and Account Management system) be it from friends selling their ps3 w/o deactivating, or deleting the account or if their PS# got YLOD, you were SOL with those activations
Sony CS allowed one time use to remotely deactivate all 5 deactivation as a courtesy, some still abused this process

So Sony lowered the activations to 2 (publisher bitching) but also balanced it out with giving the user remote access to deactivate PS3 and their accounts
Every 6 months from the day you deactivate, you get to do it again at your leisure

So for your friends to enjoy your PS+ goodies
The have to create a new user on their ps3
When asked to sign up for a PlayStation Network account, rather than having "Create a new user" option, select "Use existing account"

Put your sign-in information + password, if you want to save the password + automatic sign-in (@ your discretion) for your friends PS3 you can make it easier for them to access stuff, but you also gain the risk of them going onto your account

They then have access to all your games from your DL list
They just go to Account Management > Transaction Management > Download List (it's hella' fucking easier than going through the abysmal store through the ps3)

There's also a trick to do 4 activations with your account, but that requires a little more in depth tutorial
HAHA!

If you're going to account share, at least don't use a credit card. Buy codes and apply them to your account. It's the only way to be sure.

Use your card
Make Purchase
Once done
Account Management > Billing Information > Password > Delete Information Button

No problems =D

Next purchase, input CC info, most of all the other info comes back up
Repeat process

I apologise if I'm not reading it right, but if I allow my account on my friends ps3, he has the ability to remove access to plus from my ps3?
While I do trust him and his kids, if that is the case, that is a lot of power I don't feel comfortable with giving up. I guess I has hoped that my ps3 would be the primary console, like an admin of sorts.

No your reading it wrong lol

They can't fuck with your PS+ at all or your activations, unless they go to the SEN website and deactivate both accounts, and backstabo you and activate 2 accounts on 2 of their PS3's lol (very conspiracy theory, I know)

Simple way

Your PS3 has your account, so you'll still be in control
Your friends PS3 will gain your account info, and they can go on and play your games on their accounts
They just need to activate your second activation slot on their PS3

You can ask them not to save the password, or if you want you can switch it to temporary password whenever you want them to DL new stuff from your DL list

Only thing to worry is if you leave your full info on there, not a trust issue, just a whoops, my kid by mistake played a game on your account and the trophy set for that game got synced and now you have that set on your trophy list
(It has happened to many people, trust me)

No. Plus works on all consoles your PSN account is activated on. There's no way to remove PS+ from a console short of deactivating the account.

Thanks, it's in there since this morning and it's still there, so who knows :)
I'm not gonna risk it with this one though, I think. I don't want to lose this great deal.
But I'll try it with another one and share my results.

Ahhhhh I see, thanks. Ok well that is pretty cool then. I really am thankful for the help ;)
edit: also like to thank everyone for their input as well.

I'm going to ask this here. Is there a PS3 wallpaper thread or something I could check?

Also, hope they put Jak and Daxter Collection on sale soon. I've never played these games and would really like to try them.

Is Alice: Madness Returns not on sale anymore? It says $4.00 for Plus members but it changes to 19.99 when I try to buy it.

I have the same issue, I was trying to buy it before the store updated, and it says $4, but goes to 19.99 in the cart.

What's the deal with JSR not being in the "free games" section? It is free this week, but you'd have to go to the game page to find that out.

.

from the 20 things you didn't know about the ps4 video that the EU psblog posted like a week ago it sounds like it won't use the same set of activations nor will it have it's own two.

It talks about how you will be able to have one ps4 be your home console that every account on that system can access the games/ps+ of even if you aren't logged in, and then you can log into any other ps4 with your account and be able to play your games/ps+ on it as long as you are logged in. (it never mentioned any activations limits or anything like that so I figure it's independent to the ps3 activations, which is a good thing because I would instantly cancel my ps4 preorder if you didn't have at least 1 new slot for the ps4 as I actively use two different ps3 and don't want to give up my account on either for the ps4)

It's not clear though if you will be able to have your home console play online with a different account when you are logged into your account on a different console (I really hope so as I will want to play MP games with my wife and I really don't want to have to pay for plus twice to do so)

Heads-up PS Plus people. We'll be announcing your August games at 12pm BST/1pm CET. Anyone care to hazard a guess or two?

The image that unveiled Saints Row and Battlefield said that August will feature DmC and Spec Ops, so the only guess is the third game.
