Previous trends point to Kickstarters rarely detracting from one another. I'd imagine having a bunch of old-school 2D platformer fans currently "on" Kickstarter will only do Shantae favours.

DSi Shantae was four dungeons and took about three hours to beat. Original Shantae lasted 7-8 hours.

With Comcept doing a MN9 community spotlight for a company/game currently activated on Kickstarter, I wouldn't be surprised if they give a nod to WF's Shantae KS and vice versa. I think it'll benefit more than hurt.

If anything it'd be bad for mighty no 9's ability to keep hitting stretch goals. People who may have planned to increase their backing on mn9 may now send that 15 dollars Shantae's way. If anything hurts shantae it's that they've announced the 4th game while the third hasn't even finished development yet. People might decide after paying $12-15+ for this they don't need to buy the upcoming 3ds title.
